      Aaron when Apple starts using the vapor cooling system in the phones it should reduce heating when gaming ? Etc... From what I understand that’s why there is dimming

      I got a call right after charging it, and I could feel the heat radiating from the phone on my cheek. I fall in love with
      the phone, but the heat is too hot to handle. I decided to return it perhaps tomorrow. I am disappointed.

    As a construction worker I use my 12 pro outside a lot and it gets quite hot to the point where the brightness turns down and I am not able to turn it back up until it cools down. This is very frustrating as I need to be able to use my phone outside while working. This has already happened a few times and with it being spring, temperature are only around 65-70 degrees. I am afraid to see what will happen when it gets to 90-100 degrees during the summer. Very disappointed that this is how a $1000 phone preforms

    I'm a couple of years late but great video still! I am always amazed at how well IPhones and some other android phones dissipate heat. Especially iPhones because they all run hot. Considering they are only using passive cooling it's quite impressive. I guess with iPhones it's the combination of mostly metal and glass materials and very power hungry processors that make iPhones get so hot so often.

After I upgraded to the Max, I noticed that after a few minutes, the phone would get really warm and would stop charging. Never got my 11 pro max to heat up abnormally even while gaming.
      Also it’s not just maps or other small things that heats it up, there are many things iOS does on the background. Maybe there is an important process running in the background so that’s why it may heat up. Idk what it does but I got my iPhone 6 Plus to heat up a lot with just watching RUclips at times, but sometimes it barely warm while watching RUclips.
      Androids don’t actually do a lot of background processing like iOS does so it won’t Heat up by chance like iPhone does

      Yes, all smart phones will get hot when they are having load put on them , it just depends on the usage case , unfortunately heat is accumulative in smart phones because they are sealed units with no way to dissipate accumulated heat quickly other than by heat sinking through the chassis and case and via throttling ,
      except for the odd specialist gaming phone with fans and vents.
      Users have to have a bit of common sense , there is no way gaming or using the devices chipset under very heavy load for extended periods on a sealed device will not get hot , and warm ambient temp will make it worse ..

    My 11 gets hot when checking mail😅 I don’t have social media and only use my phone for phone calls, texting, WhatsApp, Spotify and email. Sure sometimes surf on safari but nothing special. I don’t think this is NORMAL. It’s a common issue that pretty much all iPhones had. It gets hot after 1-2 minutes of use!??! NOT NORMAL!! They’re fcking us over. Also when it gets hot, the screen starts clicking when pressing lightly, also the back glass starts clicking. As if the screen comes off the frame because of the heat. I have a backup Samsung s21 and that phone never gets hot even after 2-3 hours of use.

    Sooo I have NEVER had a problem with my phone getting hot or ‘overheating’.
    I have had every iPhone since the 3GS and this 12 mini has already had 3 overheating issues. I do not understand it’s like this thing sucks in the heat from outside

    Apple is really getting into lawsuits territory, if more phones start overheating they might get sued big time, plus one if people want to bring up the charger not included, Apple still wastes a ton of packaging due to me receiving a Apple Pencil with a giant ass bag, so much “for the environment”

      He really shouldn’t make ignorant comments. People are here because their phones are getting ridiculously hot during regular use. I just upgraded from my 11 to the 12 and just setting it up it immediately got super hot and it’s not cooling down.

    Mine gets really hot. I do use my phone while charging. Wireless charging isn’t as efficient as wired charging. The battery can’t absorb and store 100% of the energy the left over energy gets transferred to heat.

    OMG, I was searching all over the internet for this issue. My iphone 11 Pro Max getting so warm after installed ios 14.4. Even with light use for 20 minutes, the phone get very warm. It gets worse if no wifi and I have to use cellphone data to browse or maps. And charging the phone is hot too. So weird! I hope it wont blow up on me😳 Apple wants us to buy a portable fridge to use with the iiPhones. Apple needs fix this issue.

      After a brand new update, especially if it’s an important one that fixed and changes things-the iPhone has to do indexing in the background for the next few days so it will feel like that at first. Once it’s done it should be back to normal

    Slightly off topic question, Aaron. What is the normal rate of wear for an iPhone battery after one year? I’ve had my iPhone 11 since April 2020 and health is already down to 89 percent.

    • @adalbert93_75
      @adalbert93_75 3 года назад

      Hi Apple says 80% battery Heath after 2 years is fine

    • @mac3490
      @mac3490 3 года назад

      That is excessive wear though in my opinion. Do you charge it every day? How do you charge? Overnight? My XS Max is at 92% but it goes 3 days between charges. I only charge up to 80%, never higher than that.

    • @adalbert93_75
      @adalbert93_75 3 года назад +3

      @@mac3490 frankly I do not care that much - it’s a lottery either way when it comes to micromanaging your battery, it can always be replaced after 2 years for reasonable cost so why bother
