Hi Dan, I just found your channel 2 days ago and I just finished watching all your videos about Mexico. Thanks for showing this unknown side of Mexico to the world. The thing I like the most about your channel is that you are authentic and I think that is the key to your success and the reason why many of us love your videos. I wish you and Nari never have to leave Mexico. I’m looking forward to watching your next video.
P.S. I had never been subscribed to any channel before, so yours is the first one. I’d definitely share your videos with my family and friends. You rock!

The New Travel Hey Dan, well there are a lot to see and taste but when it comes to places you should go to Monte Alban Ruins they are located in an amazing place far away urbanization, I would also advise going to Oaxacan beaches like Bahias de Huatulco and take a tour around all of them, they are really a paradise that you wouldn't regret visiting, in fact you could take a flight from oaxaca and it'd get you there like around 20 minutes. By the way I think you must taste Tlayudas Preparadas wich are a typical food from Oaxaca and the traditional chocolate.

You should visit El Tule (the tree with the widest trunk in the world), Mitla, Monte Alban, El Centro Cultural de San Agustín (CaSa), Hierve el Agua, Yanhuitlán, Teposcolula, Jardín Etnobotánico, Instituto de Artes Gráficas (IAGO), Centro Cultural San Pablo, Museo Textil, Templo de Santo Domingo.
If you want to know more about mezcal you should take "la ruta del mezcal" (a tour where you visit places where people make mezcal).
There are a lot of food options like: tamales oaxaqueños, tepache, chocolate, pinole, moles (amarillo, negro, rojo, verde), nieves (the most famous is leche quemada con tuna).
The restaurants that I recommend are: Pitiona, Casa Oaxaca, Tlayudas El Negro, Los Danzantes, Origen.
I hope you enjoy your stay in Oaxaca.

It's great that you finally got to Oaxaca. It's one of my favorite cities in Mexico. Many of the surrounding towns each specialize in a form of arts and craft, like alebrijes, blacl clay pottery, or naturally colored wool tapestries. The food is the best anywhere and the museums are awesome. Go to the Museo del Exconvento de San Pablo and look at the church right next to it.

There's a lot of beautiful beaches in Oaxaca, you should also try to check them out. And, since you're in the south you could totally just hop to Chiapas; I promise you'll love it here as well. Chiapas is basically a mini Mexico, you can find anything you can find in other states except for the beautiful caribean beaches.

Wow. This was such a cool vlog. I visited Oaxaca when I was a child but I don't quite remember much about it. You should visit Monte Albán and Mitla, both are archeological sites that are close to the city (I think). And eat tlayudas, and mole oaxaqueño and all that. Sometime in July or August, I'm not sure, there's a big festival in Oaxaca city, Festival de la Guelaguetza, it's quite the cultural event, if you can, go. Aside from that, I love how you speak about my country. It's so cool when foreigners appreciate a different culture.

I visited Oaxaca twice in 2000. I really liked the city then. It looks like not much has changed in all these years. It can get very hot in Oaxaca, although it cools down at night, usually. It can get very cold too, depending on the time of the year you visit. It's a small city. I liked the Centro Histórico the most, its architecture and old, spacious houses. I also visited Monte Alban, Mitla the Tule tree. I addition to Oaxaca, I liked Patzcuaro, Michoacán a lot too, as well as the city of Morelia. Patzcuaro, smaller than Oaxaca, is also beautiful, with early colonial architecture and it's cold during winter and cool throughout the year.

Nice destination Dan! I was over there when it was the last earthquake in february, what an adventure was that. But yeah! There's lots and lots to see there, You should go to the museum right there in Santo Domingo church, you can lear A LOT from mexican history. If you have the chance to go to a restaurant called "Las Quince Letras", the owner, Mrs. Celia is adorable and very welcoming, and her food it's AMAZING! And if you want to taste a really good mezcal, go to Cuish, but be respectful with mezcal, and drink it slow, it's a very spiritual drink, to have long conversations. Enjoy both of you guys!

My father is Oaxacan and it is safe to say that Oaxaca is one of the cultural, historical and culinary wonders of the world. The best chocolate in the world comes from there, which makes sense since chocolate comes from Mexico. Also, the cheeses and the mezcal are a must try. This video is so freaking awesome! XD

Best place ever. Guelaguetza July 25th. Lots of dancing everyday. Huge folklorico show. Feria del tamal y tejate, feria del mezcal, etc...visited in july 2016... definitely worth returning.

Can't wait to see the next videos! This was cool, you experienced part of one of the many festivities in Mexico. Guelaguetza is a huge meaningful celebration in Oaxaca, look it up and hope you can come back there to show us! Great vid, Dan!

Good day Dan: Gracias amigo pour another phenomenal eclectic vibrant video. I immensely enjoyed the architecture of the splendid ⛪ church, the colours of those homes, food look delicious, like the 🎸 guitarists and trombonists which had a New Orleans Mardi Gras feel. The editing and cinematography was electrifying. Thanks so much.

We are going to Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido in December and are very happy that you are blazing a trail for us. I would love to see an info video: how you got there, your accommodation, cost of food, hippest cocktails, etc. Have a great time! Oh, and you are rocking that hat!

Nice! The first I went to Oaxaca I arrived at night, and I was not taken to it inmeidatly. However the next day after walking and tasting the food. Going to the clothes markets and checking out convents and churches I was taken by it and know its my most favourite place of, very rich culturally.
