I like the way the Mrs is doing all the work from wheeling the cart out the depot to stacking and builing the bench while your doing the important part of filming lol very amusing ;)
Loved this idea! Looks great but the seat was a little high. Substituted the stacking of (3) 8x8x16 cider blocks on the sides with (1) 4x8x16 on the bottom, then (2) 8x8x16 cider blocks. Also, shrunk the 4x4x8 wood for 4x4x6 for a shorter bench to fit our patio. Loved that there was no cutting! Thank you!
Fantastic idea, I thought maybe the lady is petite. That’s good to know because I wouldn’t want people’s feet hanging off. Thank you. And thank you for the video too.
I glued mine, you don't have too but I would recommend it. You can use bolts as mentioned but its a hell of a lot more work. You can glue them and still split them if you need to move it. We did that.
when you bought that 4x4 was it already all sanded? the ones they have at lowes is all rough...oh and that moonshine thing on top did you glue that as well?
Have you seen the water proof spray? Its like silicone in a can and will make item water proof. Could put some on if you plan on having it out in the elements
OMG I LOVE THIS.. wowow .. My head is spinning and I am so excited about building with cinder block in my back yard. I actually think I can do this 😋 Thank you so much for posting this. I am a new subscriber for sure :-) So since I am a total newbie, can you please tell me which type of paint would I use on the cinder blocks? TY

At least I held the door open for her. ;)

Love this video from start to finish, thank you for taking us shopping with you that helps alot!
Nice bench made by the Lady
Fantastic, I’m trying this very soon. Just working out the sizes of the blocks.
Approved by both mama and the dog 😁 Beautiful wiew.
If you don't put the vertical blocks close to flush with the edge, the fourth 4x4x8 isn't necessary.
It's more for cosmetic purposes. Completes the look. We tried it without the last 4 x4 and it just didn't look as good
To keep feet from not reaching the ground instead of a 4x4 maybe a 2x4? Could you paint the cinder block to keep it from mildewing?
I liked because of your video. I subscribed because of your assistant. She is easy on the eyes....
More of her in the future.
Will this damage the foundation?
no
@@DJTimmayBiZzAre Thanks!
Question: Do the cinder blocks have to be glued together or can they be stacked without glue, just in case I want to move them? 🤔
use bolts. drill holes in the cement blocks with a hammer drill and then add the bolts. that way you can undo it on the off seasons.

@The Coaster Nerds ok, thank you 😊
Are the posts pressure treated ? Nice work !!!!
These were. The others I have done for family were not. I just grabbed whatever was cheapest at the local hardware store.

It doesn't look like they did. I'm sure you can go the extra mile and make it more to your liking. Like you said maybe sand and put like a clear coat

Thanx for sharing. So cute. Your moms happiness.
thanks a lot, how much did you spend on this bench?
Right at $100 including the solid stain I bought for the 4x4x6's.
Wow, I'm going to use your idea and build mine.... Thank you
Very welcome. It turned out to be a great hit with our family.
How to you seal and paint the cinder block.
Just standard outdoor paint from home depot. Nothing fancy.

How do you secure the 4x4s?
You don't. They are heave and do not move. 3 years so far and no problems
What is the best glue?
Any concrete glue at Home Depot or similar. There's a bunch of options. I used the cheapest thing at the store.
What is the length of the 4x4?
You can do anthing you want. But ours are 8ft
Hubby making me a nice bench soon
You'll enjoy it!! :)
Good job y’all, and wifey😍
TANKS.. :)
What exactly is a Cholo bench
@@jackramirez74 A bench that leans waaay back...

The back 4x4 post doesn’t really serve a purpose.
Cosmetic. Looks weird without it

The background music is distracting, at least lower the volume.
