PUT A CUSHION ON THE BED BENCH FOR COMFORT
That is a great idea!!!
good job
This is exactly what my daughter and I were talking about doing to our patio..Thank you
It is an easy and rewarding project!!
The lumber would cost way more than just $60 where I live.
I bought my place and had to remodel almost everything in every room. Just one good quality sub floor board was over $80 itself
It looks great! Thanks for showing us how to do this cinderblock project. 👋🏼🙋🏽♀️✌🏽
Really great!! What would jazzed up a little more as if you did industrial adhesive And stuck on flat stones on the outside of the cement blocks and give it a nice finished look
What a great idea! And moveable if needing to be changed. Can be expanded too. Fits a garden scape without doubt. 🙂
Awesome ideas 💡 👏 👌 👍 thanks for sharing your Amazing ideas. 😊❤ Love all of you talented folks shared everything with us.
Brilliant bench made from your headboard and footboard!
Never throw away things, you never know when you’ll need them - that’s what hoarders say lol
Exactly what I was thinking...as I'm trying to become a minimalist (or very close to one) and undo all the hoarding my husband has done....and he STILL occasionally brings things home, then I get rid of the 'things'! Super frustrating😩
@@tami.1111 lol you described my father
Super cute, I love the second look ❤
Glass doorknobs would be beautiful on the tops of the sides. Great job.
reminded me of Lincoln Logs!!
Pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.
It looks great! Thanks for showing us how to do this cinderblock project. ️
nice pieces and ideas...so refreshing to find a channel that do not use annoying music as background so freaking refreshing...love it!
That’s looks great. Over here in Australia we call them Besser Blocks. You made it look so easy. Thank you
You , young lady are my hero. ❤️.
I think solid treated and painted solid wood would have been better, just IMO.
Adorable bench!!!!!!!!
I think the bench needs a footing in a cold climate as well as cement to hold it all together. But it’s a great idea!
What a great project!! Beautiful!!
Awesome benches!! Love both of them Thank you for sharing your ideas!! : )
So pretty
I love that bench!! Very cool
Great idea ,affordable too! Thank you
Thank you for sharing this! I'm looking forward to exploring the channel, I am in need of ideas for my back patio and this bench was a great start!
I would have to paint the cinderblocks.
Beautiful job, you’ve inspired me ! Thanks for sharing , 👍🇨🇦
Thanks for watching
I made this for my backyard. WARNING- It doesn't hold up in wet or cold areas!! Check the temperatures noted on the Liquid Nail to see if they fit your area's usual temperatures/weather conditions.
Thank you Teresa for you helpful tip. Always read the label on an adhesive you purchase
There us a liquid nail product for extreme weather areas, sold in areas that need it.
Use PL adhesive, it holds everything, even my broken heart .
How cool! What a great idea!
Love this bench!
Wonderful!
Beautiful!
Sure looks comfy!!! 🤪
Brilliant! Love it
Awesome I love those blocks
They are great for so many projects
YOU COULD PUT A CUSHION ON THE CONCRETE BLOCK BENCH
That is an awesome idea
@@GoodlyEarth OLD BUTTS NEED COMFORT. HA HA
@@delilahgillis5287 Agreed!!!
Creative? Yes. Functional? Attractive? Lasting?
Very clever, looks great!
😍 Beautiful 💕
Looks super comfy
The bench makes me think of a crib or cradle.
Wow, love it !
Both ideas are great
Great idea!! I was wondering, and let me say that hindsight is always better with that being said I'm wondering if just cutting out the first spindle would have been a good idea or would that have made the seat to deep because the sides would have been deeper for the seat. Not having ever made a bench like this before always wanted to try it.
Like I said it's a great idea I love the color and it makes a really cool looking bench. Thank you for the idea and the demonstration. Keep up the good work.
You said it, perfectly. The seat depth is too narrow, for long-legged people.
Perfect !
Very cool !
I didn't know you could use adhesive on cinder blocks!!!
I will make one I love it thankyou
On idea 1, how to stop the wooden poles from sliding left to right or thru the holes in blocks?
Nice ideas!
Luv it! Thank You.
Thanks. Great video!!
Wow, I love that Cinder Blocks Bench! Thanks for sharing. Gave me an idea for what I plan to make by the back side of my home 😍
P.S. by the way, I'm making my home "Beachy" and this bench will make a great "Margaritaville" type. Maybe Parrots 🦜 and "It's 5 O'CLOCK Somewhere." Lol
That’s cool 😎
Thank you for the wonderful idea! I'm gonna go tomorrow to my local thrift stores to buy a bed frame to make a fabulous bench out of for my porch
This was great. ☆☆☆☆
Thanks. I was waiting it.
Love Em Both ❤ Great Idea thanks for sharing
Thanks Irma
Neat idea but black widows LOVE those cinderblock holes.
😳
Clever
Wow that is hilarious I've been using g this method for lots of things... like raised gardens. Concrete adhesive works great for non bearing hollow walls... you can fill them with perlite and th ey insulate well for gardens
Perfeito adorei 🇧🇷
@Carol's Delicious & Healthy Recipes That's actually a great idea. Thank you for sharing
Those holes one the top of the bed-frame bench will collect water and eventually rot that wood. You should seal those holes off. Nice projects. Both were pretty cool. Thanks for sharing.
I luv repurposing materials, but the wooden bench seat is lacking comfort imo.
the boards should have been rounded off up front at least and frankly their placement is wrong, should've stayed w horizontal placement and best to put a CUSHION on it to protect injury to legs and/or damage to clothing.
the concept is great. though.
I do like the cinder block more but again, where is the seat comfort, sitting on wood beams??
yikes people 🥺
Good looking project. Have you made this same bench, in the same manner, before? I am wondering how those seams all lining up affected it's stability and longevity.
Lots of folks throw out their old cinder blocks so basically can get those for free in my area. Good look to that 👌
👍😊
This looks great. Are landscape timbers treated wood, though?
Sehr schön , nur leider sind diese Steine in Deutschland nicht zu bekommen . Tolle Idee .
Two screws on each side to hold the 2x4s are not going to have enough "shear" strength for people to sit on, not in my family LOL. The wooden bench would be more durable if you put the 2x4 seat supports on top of the side pieces (between the spindles) and secured them by screwing from the top of the board down into the side supports or using pocket holes on the side supports into the 2x4 underneath. Another idea is the put a cleat on each side (glued and screwed) of the side supports and then place the 2x4s on top of those, then screwed in from the top into the cleat (maybe toenail or pocket hole it into the cleat from the bottom). I like the look, but the construction could be improved a bit.
😍
I'm putting a spool table and tires turned inside out flower planters with it.
Second bench: I noticed the right side was quite a bit lower than the left. You also says air nailer when it was obviously battery.
Love the first one second one cute but won't be comfy to sit on to long edges of planks should be smoothed out a bit will be rough for legs otherwise lovely 👌
👍
Great idea, great series! Question: What about total weight? This bench is perfect for our wooden deck, if it's not too heavy.
As long as your desk has been built correctly, it will support this amount of weight plus a person or two without a problem.
You have this against the wall I'm wondering if it can be free standing?
If you are talking about the concrete bench, yes, it definitely can. Always make sure you use a good amount of adhesive. Drench it on there.
Very convenient for thieves. "Hey look at this window smasher holder. Right by the patio door. Such a thoughtful homeowner, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Does the bench require being assembled against a wall to prevent tip over?
During construction what do you do if the blocks are not level?
Tap with rubber mallet until leveled.
@@veliciawilliams5865 Thank you!!! Great reply
So how do you level it after you put the adhesive on and also as it's now taller and heavier?
Always make sure it is level on the first layer. Once you add more blocks you can use a small, rubber mallet to level them out.
If you have to ask, don’t try it.
@@ladybelle6771 If you have to respond like that, don't respond.
@@pargolf3158 You’re right. I’m truly sorry. I don’t even remember making the comment. I’m old.
That bench was an idea. Leave it at that.
That "bench" at the 2:00 mark looks interesting. But even if you put cushions on it, it is going to be uncomfortable to sit on, IMO.
Mas quantas vezes você viu um jardim dedicado ao verde? A cor verde é um neutro perfeito
Those blocks aren't just random. He picked thru a pallet and took all the corners. Left the stretchers. There's a difference. If you do this project you need to be aware of this. 😉
Bed bench doesn't look comfortable. I would definitely need cushions.
The right side is lower than the left side, U must be an expert!
great idea for the bed chair but you should have put a support underneath either side and not screws straight into the wood
I've thought about creating items from used pallets, however, I reconsidered that because I didn't know if they could have termites.?. Also, not sure if pallets are treated.?. Does anyone know? Thanks!
What would you suggest on the bottoms so rain Won't rot wood if outside?
If you use pretreated wood it will hold up great. Also, you can apply water seal to the wood and they will last you for years.
@@GoodlyEarth Thank You.👍😃
Wearing an empty tool belt to hold a cellphone, 🤣
First bench might as well been mortared together and also there isn’t anything keeping the timber from sliding around. Second bench will not support the wear of an adult actually using the bench if left outside, that wood is not pressure treated and those screws will snap after a year outside
The second bench also looks uncomfortable. Needs more pillows.
If I built one of those seats and sat on it the concrete would crack.
So you’re the reason cinder blocks went up in price!!
These are not cinder blocks. They are cement masonry units.
What kind of construction adhesive did you use??
I used an all-purpose, construction adhesive. Look at the label and make sure it can be used for concrete. Don't go light on the adhesive, concrete is porous so you want to put on a good amount.
@@GoodlyEarth Ok. Thank you!
I always thought It was center blocks 🤣
That looks terrible uncomfortable lol I’d use 4x4 fence posts and round of the edges. Just tip them a slight bit maybe 1/8-1/4” to aid in rain runoff if doing it for outdoor use of course.
Each cinderblock weighs 51 pounds
