To properly fight for our country would mean to outlaw and abolish the Republican party the same way that Germany outlawed the Nazi party. To truly end the Fascist Republican threat, Republican leaders have to be arrested and imprisoned, and the remnants of the party driven into the ocean. The problem is that the Left in the US is "compassionate" and "tolerant." We're trying to play by the rules against people who burned the rule book.
Maybe the rest of the world could do their part to help and create an Alliance against the Republican Christo-Fascist terrorist organization? No, that's not going to happen. Whenever a Republican gets into office, the rest of the world bows down to them, too. Everyone wants that money. Everyone wants those trade deals. Everyone wants those weapons. No one gives a fuck about truth, justice, democracy or freedom.

There are only two pieces of evidence needed to convict Trump. First was his tweet inviting his stupid mob to Washington DC on January 6, and second was his televised speech telling his stupid mob to march on the Capitol building to "fight like Hell" to "stop the steal." Without those two things, there wouldn't have been an attack on Congress. If all of law enforcement and the general public can overlook such obvious evidence of a crime against our country, then there is no hope. This country has shot teenagers over a bag of weed, but we have to keep our fingers crossed hoping for change that will never come.

The worrying part of this is that it seems like the highest stakes for the committee is to make the public aware of these events. But the people who support the former president will always continue to support him. The real stakes are this: If you have evidence to prosecute, then DO IT. You don't need public support to indict people for treason, you just need to do it. If ratings are too low, or if there isn't a wide enough outcry because the public is already numb, then what? Are you going to *not* prosecute?

There’s actually been several documentaries on Jan 6th released. I guess many of you guys haven’t seen them and only have seen what MSM has shown you.
We want consequences, plain and simple.
I'm someone who read the Mueller report, sat through the entirety of his testimony, watched _both_ impeachment hearings - all for it to ultimately mean _nothing_ because there were no consequences for anyone responsible. It feels like I have to sit back and watch the country I was born to crumble in front of me. I do my part and vote responsibly, I make myself aware and informed of the issues affecting me locally and nationally, I participate in our democracy, but I get nothing for it.
My rights as a woman are eroding, I fear for the safety of my daughter every day I send her to school, I worry for the transgender people in my life, and I stress over when and how much my rent will go up (because at this point it seems inevitable).
So if you want me to spend my emotional and mental well-being on watching hearings explaining a story I already know too well _then make it mean something._

Speaking for myself, I'm numb only because the obvious acts of sedition by the former President seem to meet no consequences. But that doesn't keep me from continuing to follow what is happening, and voting accordingly, to make sure this never happens again (God willing).

I grew up in an era in which the USA was the place of my childhood dreams. Rock and roll, Disneyland, Hollywood, Superman and sea monkeys. I have been there five times and enjoyed the experience. However, and I may be wrong, it seems to have been irrevocably damaged. And, worse still, it has been damaged by its own people.
You enjoyed it here because you were only here for a short time and didn't have to deal with the craziness.
