Aoyoc in fact, the album "Before The Dawn Heals Us" was released in 2005, while the follow-up "Saturdays = Youth" was released three years later, and trust me it's even better than the previous one
Today, it's my favorite M83 song. Yesterday il was Wait. Tomorrow it will be Moonchild. And so on. And so goes my happy life!😄 Hope you enjoy yours with a little help of our best friend M83.
I just want to say that this is my favorite song, possibly forever. M83 is more than music, is pure art. thanks for exist in this wolrd, in this galaxy... and dont save me from the flames, none ghost is screaming my name.
i remember seeing this back in 2005 on mtv2's subterraneans as it struck me at how gorgeous the video looked as i also loved the song as this was my discovery to m83. they're an incredible band as i think the 2nd album is their best work still. we need a new 4K version of this video.
This song/video was my introduction to M83 when Before the Dawn Heals Us was released. I had such a big crush on this girl when I was in college. I still do, but I used to, too. And the album never fails to move me.
I heard Anamanaguchi's cover of this song many years ago. For some reason I never looked up the original until now. It is every bit as beautiful as I hoped it to be. M83 is such an intriguing band and I'm about to jump into all of their songs
This song is so great, I can't stop listening to it. This video looks like it has been around since the early 90s and just needed the right song to go with it. It screams early 90s to me!
I just saw "A Ghost Story" for the first time and now I find myself listening to this song. The movie is great for those who are open minded. The wait for the twist is amazing.
It's funny, I was introduced to this song by one of the Kings Of Leon musicians on a TV show. Then I realized this song sounds almost identical to "Use Somebody"...
When this came out I was like 11? And I showed it to my friend Tina because I thought she'd like that her name was included in the song. She was not down. Well fuck it this is still one of my favourite songs 15 years later. And the source of embarrassment as a preteen now makes me realize how cool I actually was. Young people be yourself it's so cool you will have not being able to appreciate your badassness till later but trust me it's worth it
I'm glad someone left this comment a day ago. Seeing new comment for them make me feel better for them. I actually find this band two days ago. I think they are burry very deep now...
Its sad to me that M83 didn't get popular until Midnight City and even more so when Junk came out. I am a strong believer that Saturdays = Youth and Before the Dawn are the best 2 albums and yet lots of M83 'fans' havent even listened to them. But I am glad M83 is getting love in the first place. If I were to rank albums it would probably be (from highest to lowest): Saturdays, Before the Dawn, Hurry Up, Dead Cities, Junk, Self Titled, Digital Shades. As for the other albums (Fantasy, DSVII, You Are the Night) I haven't really listened to them so I can't really rank them. But I will listen to them over the next few days and maybe come back and edit this if I remember. But I have quickly skimmed through Fantasy and so far I like it. I actually discovered M83 right before Digital Shades came out. I was using imesh if anyone knows what that is/was. I had been listening to my favorite band, Pinback, and imesh recommended a few bands and I was instantly in love with Before the Dawn. I listened to all of it along with Dead Cities and self titled fairly quickly over a few weeks then forgot about them until I started working at a record store the week Digital Shades dropped but that got me really back into them. Then Saturdays dropped and I was even more in love. But once Hurry up came out I wasn't that into it. Which is my normal routine, dislike the new album until the next album comes out then fall in love with the old. Its rare for, bands I like, that a new album comes out and I am instantly hooked.
Okay so I've been listening to this song for years, like since it came out. But I never could fully hear/understand what the lyrics were saying. So recently since I've been reminded of how damn good this song is, I looked them up and it's actually a pretty dark song. It's basically being told from the perspective of someone whose dying in a car accident. Gorgeous song though!!
then you don't understand M83 and the band's influences. All his stuff is about teenage and high school angst. if you research his influences, you respect the hell out of this band. they are amazing live.
This song reminds me of 2008. Playing this song and looking out my dorm room window at the city and all the lights.

This is all the M83 we had when we were listening to it
Their earlier albums were really good, almost better than Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming.
Song and video remind me of Donnie Darko, especially the bicycle sequence.
I didn't understand the meaning of the movie very well, but I really like this song. I hear it a thousand times.
