M83's "Before The Dawn Heals Us" is without a single doubt, the most beautiful piece of art ever made.
Why is everyone hating on this? Both the song and music video are BEAUTIFUL. Watching the slow detail in the video.. I could never get bored of it. As for the music... For those complaining it's too uneventful this is what ambient music is. I love the minimalism in this.
It's horrible. Appreciation of minimalism is no excuse for liking this garbage.

Thanks Anthony! Because of you I started writing as well. What started out as me recreating M83 melodies on GarageBand turned into me discovering my true inner emotions and being able to express them through my own original creations. Don't stop doing what you're doing. You never know when another "me" may come along and discover they too want to strive to become just like you.
It really entertains me reading the comments saying the video is crap. Lol, people, M83 is known just as much for their experimental video's as their music. If you don't get anything from this video then it's your fault you shut your mind. My viewing was: The woman is fire, she is the igniter. The man sees this and breathes lust in the form of stale smoke. These words are caught up by the woman, and made her own. The hawk catches it's prey. And the rat is none the wiser. What is your analysis?

I love M83. Their music and video interpretations are based on how you take it. I think thats their point. They aren't trying to be popular or be mainstream. Just to be understood or given a platform to express where they are coming from. But obviously everyone is entitled to their opinions xx

My point is, this "music" is so lazy. I listen to wide array of genre from Mozart to Metallica. I did enjoy Midnight City so I was disappointed with this "crap". Oh yeah, we should end our conversations with shut the fuck up. It's supposed to be intimidating that way.
The Guru of Greatness Music that focuses on tonal texture and harmonic structure is not lazy. He programs analogue synthesizers, he doesn't just slap a bunch of presets together. What does it matter if this is not an intro? The whole album wasn't songs like this, why do you have to have pieces like this limited to short timespans? That seems awfully arbitrary and a somewhat pointless cause. "Don't make songs that sound like intros to me as stand alone pieces even if they're only a fraction of the album's playtime!" Doesn't really inspire much passion.
