@@ofentsejay I mean I don't know, but the performance on Android along with the battery life is really good. If you want similar battery with better specs you can tune things to be similar, my LG V60 was an easy 2 day phone and i could do 3 days if i wanted. But over the P30 Pro the S22 Ultra has 120hz screen and it is a 1440p resolution screen which the P30 has a 1080p screen. You can change the S22 Ultra to be 1080 resolution and lower it to 60 Hz. But in my opinion both of those things are worth it for the battery life it. Plus this phone is super fast. It just blows through tasks and on Android i have always sped up the animations , but this is the first one where i felt it's perfect for the speed of the phone. I know it's my opinion but yeah
I am from India, I am using snapdragon version, Not facing issues as you Said, but only main drawback is battery for heavy usage 5-6hrs only coming, otherwise normal usage one day will come battery. And sometimes facing heating issue only above 3hrs of game play but not all time facing heat issues, it's depends on tge atmosphere. Good Display, good camera, One UI 5 ( 5 years software update), Samsung eco system, watch 4 for S22ultra , OVERALL it's a good deal
Well people from India who used to use Exynos chipsets from the beginning are overwhelmed with snapdragon s22u. Because we used Exynos 990 Note2U with 3.5 hrs sot without playing games.

Indeed , google has finally put a half decent phone together mate , its. A pity it has the annoying curved edge screen though , and maybe next years chipset will have a bit more horsepower. I still miss the old android phones that used to come with convenience features and all the usual accessories in the box. Smartphones of today regardless of how improved they are in some areas as a package are still a huge disappointment regardless of platforms or brands , and I say this coming from a Galaxy Note 9 and now also an iPhone user. It’s funny that in the times past you got way Better equipped devices in hardware convenience features and standard items in the box , but always had to deal with serious lag issues (especially on android). Android used to be the platform that had all the features you could possibly think of , IR blaster , SD card , headphone mic jack, swivelling cameras , S pen , ceramic backs , ultra violet sensors , fancy Face ID systems arguably as good as the iPhones and some features I can’t recall , and a full gamut of accessories in the box as standard. Look what you get today , a phone with a decent camera , even the S pen on the flagship galaxy ultra is cheaper and without accessories that you once always got , and we pay way more for this garbage.
Do you not know that SAMSUNG has supported in the production of the Google Pixel 7pro, that's why the Google Pixel 7pro seems to be matching the SAMSUNG S22 ULTRA
I get all these unqualified people talk about their phones but really samssung s22 ultra is a smashimg phone , theirs no hiccups , and the camra quality at 108mp is rlly good
I can still never understand the bitching about battery life with the s22 ultra. Me personally its lasts me a whole day with normal use basically the same battery life as my S20 Ultra but no one bitched about the battery on the s20 ultra when that phone came out.... Yes of course the battery life could be better forsure but people make it sound like the battery life only lasts an hour or is worse then past Galaxy phones lol
This kind of mentality is why companies like samsung think it's OK, to fit a mediocre chip (which is made by them) into a phone and call it a day. Just FYI. The reason the battery is so bad is because the chip, doesn't matter if it is snapdragon or exynos, for the S22U they were both made by samsung.
I love my S22 Ultra. I have the US version though. I recently got the Fold 4, and after using it for a few days, I start missing my S22 Ultra. I find the Fold cumbersome to use. It's like every time I picked up my Fold, I had to decide whether to use the front screen or the main screen. When I use the front screen, I crave a bigger screen so I end up unfolding it. Now, the folding and unfolding is getting old. I don't have to deal with that with my S22 Ultra. I've switched back and will be returning the Fold
Verizon gave me $800 trade in value for my 2yr old LG V60. I was waiting for the 2023 line, but I couldn't pass up an S22 Ultra for so cheap. I like it so far, but I'm hoping for a trade in for the new series.

@@steve9348 there’s only so far you can go with software if you don’t have the horsepower to drive that camera to its full potential , maybe next years model will be more capable.
Samsung is to start work on a new processor, which will be available only in the Galaxy S series. From what I read, this processor is to debut in 2025. Snapdragon processors are not that good, they overheat too, even Snapdragon 8+ Gen. 1. The truth is that only iPhones last long, Android phones don't. I think the problem is not only the processor itself, but the software optimization.
I'm waiting to upgrade to a 2023 Samsung phone that will have a Qualcomm chip when I buy it here in Australia. Exynos chips have been a major problem here in Australia. One of the top things I want in a phone that will have great battery life, so I can comfortably get through a full day of use. I'd love to get a small phone like the S23, but the battery size looks too small, which is really disappointing. I don't want to pay the high price for a S23+, so I'm keen to see what the S23 FE is like. Hopefully not too big or too heavy, and hopefully with a Qualcomm chip, great battery life and photography capabilities.
I saw the S22 Ultra runtime comparison on Snapdragon vs Exynos and the Snapdragon version held shorter. The phone drained faster. It might not be a big difference, but it always did.
You complain about exynos when the exynos version on this generation has outperformed snapdragon significantly in battery life. Don't listen to the crap everyone speaks about exynos it's still an excellent chip
If the S23 really is perfect then it is worth it, but it must bot be too expensive, because that is extremely off putting for many people including myself!
@@mrmusic1880 Yes, I agree they've mentioned that everyone internationally around the world will have a chance to have access to the new GALAXYY S23 ULTRA so the price must be fairly expensive but affordable.
Just purchased the S22 ultra. I got a fantastic deal in the UK it was cheaper than the S22 plus. So far, I love the phones pictures at night. They are amazing 👏 Still getting used to the size of it. I was a bit worried at first, but I would just have to get comfortable with a handbag 👜 😅
Looking into it myself now too. £200 off on most websites, great deals. Would be upgrading from an S9 Plus, so the camera is one of the things I'm most looking forward to.
i had the s22u snapdragon at 512gb and traded with s23u 256gb.... the memory base was not even a thing for me untill i realize... shooting in 200mp and 4k vids would take alot of memory...but still good enough.... i am greatful of my decision to upgrade rocking it at everything!
The snapdragon s22 ultra works like a beast. Strong activity and exceptional functionality. I upgraded my s21 ultra to the s22 ultra and so far I have no regrets.
I've changed my s22 ultra yesterday after under two years. It started shutting down and entering a bootloop, then eventually restarting. It's a common issue, and the cost to repair is not worth it.
I bought the s22 ultra exynos version & it's been an amazing phone, you shouldn't be listening to youtubers to decide if you want something, everything is subjective in life & if you want a phone go get it. I personally see the s23 only being slightly better than the s22
....E2200 is a great chip & the S22U is a great phone that performs perfectly for all tasks, even more so on Android13! Though I love Qualcoms performance as well, monopolies, especially artificial ones, are never good for the constumer longterm...
Yep...waiting for the S 23 U...upgrading from my Note 20Ultra (exynos). Wondering if i can spot the difference 😅 (must be a big one right?). Also took a look at the fold 4, but here in the Netherlands Samsung only gives a 243 euro trade in....so no deal for me. Yep holding on to my Note 20Ultra for now. Btw. Haven't got any issues with it...
I'm in the same spot as you. I still use my Note 20 Ultra with Exynos inside, but battery life is just not good enough anymore for me, and I started having Gluegate and green screen issues recently. So yeah, I might go for S23 Ultra once it releases, or even pick up S22 Ultra when price drops even more.
I've literally just bought the s22 ultra, was going to give it a miss but Samsung gave me a 15% discount, £200 trade in on an old A series plus £300 cashback, which brought the phone down to about £500, I thought it was to good a deal to turn down, yeah OK, I'm gonna miss the launch of the s23, but this time next year Samsung might do a similar deal 🤷♂️
Literally just got the S22 Ultra today myself, lol. Got a great discount on monthly plan because of my status as an UberEats driver, interestingly enough! Can't wait for it to arrive in the mail. My S8 is getting old!! :P
@Jody Mitoma's Videos I had the s21 ultra and was completely happy with it until I saw the deal Samsung were doing, I gave it to my wife and traded in her A51 for £200, you'll love it when it turns up, the s-pen is a quality piece of kit lol
how did u get a 15% discount as well as the cashback? I think the last day for cashback is 20 December so will have to decide tomorrow if to get it or not
I've had my S22 Ultra for 10 months now and like your review & a lot of the comments, I agree that the battery life is mediocre at best. You have to charge the phone twice per day or carry a powerbank. If I wake up at 9am with 100% battery, I know I'll probably have to charge my phone around 3pm and again at 9pm before bed.
I'll be sticking with Poco (soon I'll be upgrading from X3 pro to f4 GT), I used to love Samsung decades ago lol (not anymore, that includes apple Inc).
yeah , you like poco shit with it's trash memeUI? Goodluck protecting your from getting hardbrick and camera dead issue with memeui update. Also, i m also using x3 pro but i like samsung more. Thanks to custom rom dev, custom rom is saving me from memeui shit.
Interestingly I use a Samsung s20 fe with a snapdragon chip and transitions are really smooth, even comparable to the iPhones. Occasional lags and app performance being jittery are common issues but more to do with Android freedom to devs than the chisepts.
I just purchased a s22 ultra brand new 128gb 4 months back, and its really good. With all the updates, the performance, camera, battery, everything is pretty good. I'm easily getting 6 hrs of screen on time and if I turn off the 120hz then it's 7 or evn 7+ hrs.
I've been rocking the s21 (256GB) And it's been okay, not great but okay. Sure there are amazing moments like sometimes using the camera and niche features, but there's also serious downsides like battery, janky software and a weaker chipset (exynos) and it's these negative that take it from being great down to jst okay...
I'm not a power user but I've never had any issues with the S22U. Considering a standard S23 in order to downsize, as I'm quite tired of the big form factor..otherwise once you've tried a Note you will never be happy with anything else.
I have the S22 ultra snapdragon version for a while now. No heating issues at all. No lags. Everything is super snapy that much make you feel it will hit your face😅. The only thing I agree with is the battery. Yes average experience. Not bad though. So if I wish for something to be better: Better battery or efficient power consumption. Also if they pay more attention to Dex and bixby routines as I consider them the best smart features in a smart phone. Plus improvments to low light videos and pics.
Just try a Pixel 7 or OPPO Find X5 Pro and then you will understand why the internet is full of S22U Exynos complaints. I have all three phones at one time and the S22U is much slower and less fluid. On its own used by a Samsung fan, they may never have tasted really good phones so they may genuinely believe the S22U is great, but for many of us it is not.
@@andyH_England I cant argue sincenI didnt try those phones. You might be right. But my point is the phone is operating in an almost perfect way. Is it because of snapdragon. Am I just lucky😆. Not sure. I dont have any complain plus the speed for me is already insane. So nothing more needed for my personal use. But glad that you are enjoying your phones🙏🏻
Nobody beats a Note, and with the drop of Exynos next years Samsung will be absolutely smashing it, if you ask me the Galaxy S23 Ultra 5G will be the greatest smartphone ever!
Sorry mate , but the note is Dead and buried , the note was never just about having an S pen even though it was the standout feature , the note was all about being the be all and do everything phone with all the features and accessories , and I still own and use that phone from a different era . The Ultra is a watered down hybrid …. Albeit with a more updated camera and chipset. Samsung killed the proper Galaxy Note sadly.
@@JoseSanchezdontyaknow I know I never did they different all I said is that nobody beats a Note referring to what this phone really is, I know it is the same thing just branded different!
I can't wait to upgrade. This has been the worst phone I have had in years from samsung, it boils down to the battery. It dies 3 times a day, that is unacceptable. Phone was great to me otherwise, but defiantly not something you can keep especially considering battery life degrades with age. This was supposed to be my "keep for 3 years" phone lol. I have the SD chip and it does not make a difference.
Why are you demonizing the 2200 so much? I simply don't understand. The 2200 in a day to day use behaves exactly the same if not better than the 8gen1 in some situations (for example the battery life is around 10-15% better on exynos models from numerous testing). Performance of this device is excellent and there's absolutely no reason to buy the S23U, S24U or even S25U when those devices come out in the future if someone has the S22 Ultra, because it will age like fine wine. You're either really biased or trying to make a big deal about some minor things and catch views on RUclips while telling people some weird lies about a great performing device 🤦♂️
I've had the s22 ultra for 4 weeks now. Face recognition is poor Fingerprint scan is poor Battery was poor to begin with but it'd now operating well. Camera is superb S-pen is a great tool
I don't have any problem with this phone, except for the low quality of the image processing from the main camera app, but this can be solved by using the expert raw app. Mine is the snapdragon, it doesn't get hot, even under heavy use, and the battery is perfect! I'm in love with it, but Samsung needs the update the camera urgently!
I’ve had this phone since May 2022. It was a Mothers Day gift to me from my son. It takes excellent pics and the battery lasts for a good time. I do have the phone set to stop charging at 85%. Those are the good things I can say about the phone. The bad thing about the phone makes me want to trade it in ASAP. I have to reboot it almost once a week because it stops receiving calls and emails and it won’t allow me to call out. I have missed calls from family members who check up on me because of my age…74 years. For me, the only good thing about it is that it takes great pics. It is completely paid for, so I don’t want want to trade it in for a phone that will leave me with a balance, but I do want to trade it in ASAP. Any suggestions?
I understand all of your gripes, except for the battery life. At my job, I have RUclips music going from 6 o'clock in the morning to sometimes 6 or 7 in the evening, and typically still have 20-25% battery left. And I only let my phone change to 85% every night. Battery life is the absolute LAST thing I would complain about this phone.
After all, Exynos 2300 exists and, according to the information, is to power the Galaxy S23 series in selected markets. There is no 100% certainty that Europe will not get Exynos again.
I have s22plus with exynos and I have to say that they did a god job by optimizing, but of course its not enough , one ui5 improved also battery life and the phone does get hot anymore. but, I'll definitely go for the s23 ultra and I'll give away my s22plus exynos to someone in my family.
I Like my S22 ultra, But more interesting in getting Galaxy s24 series due fact it would be greatest Galaxy ever why? It would have Front Camera inside display, that we could get full display phone inside of Front Camera hole, hopefully to be first galaxy phone to Have 4k display. S23 look good, But S24 going be much better.
Dude, I hate my S22 ultra a lot of times. If I use Google maps or open my camera app, suddenly my phone is LAGGY AS HELL. And it feels like I'm using a 5 year old phone.
ye i got a regular s22 and it becomes hot and scrolling is laggy sometimes and when opening apps quickly with audio playing in the background parts of the audio start cutting out and all it also only has 4 hours of scrren on time
Went for S22u over iphone and when it started to heat I was quite regretting the decision but it's been solved automatically after updates so it's working quite smoothly not much heating.
Yeah man i feel heat issue, same i thought the same!! But slowly its going good, but i feel the interface in some games are blurry if u notice it clearly
The S23U/plus will hopefully be the one that brings me back to Samsung after two years of IPhones. Got fed up of the really crap battery life of my Galaxy S9 and the overheating Exynos crap. S10 and S20 not much better, the S21 and S22 improved but not quite there. For example like for like usage between my iPhone 12 Pro and wife’s S22U the S22U is 10-15% by the end of the day. And that’s with a 2185mah battery vs the 5000 mah battery. Hopefully the UK and Europe definitely get snapdragon next year.
I have the s22 ultra 256 in red 8 Gen 1 I have no problems at all coming from the s21 ultra but I liked the s21 ultra speakers were a little better besides that 🔥🔥🔥
I had it... I use alot of phones.... And no problems... Just it is not faster than the 888 really... But camera is great... Specially the zoom... You can see things from afar that your eyes cant make out... Battery great... Just too pointy from the edges... I got rid of it cuz the otg on it sucked... Couldnt transfer files i usally do.
only thing i liked about iphone was animation, and battery. but thats all, to be honest i wouldnt mind giving those features for samsung, battery problem solved = use 60hz and optimise ur phone so that it requires less battery, and for the animation smoothness u will get used to the samsung animations and then dont care anymore
@@Alanpoeta thats a good way to start, then theres other multiple ways, to save battery, still tho it can last a full day of normal use, so why need more? for gaming ofcourse it will burn the battery even iphone cannot do lots of gaming hours.
@@StarJes1 I wouldn't wanna sacrifice features for a good battery. The iPhone also performs better and gets at least 2 years more of major software updates.
For me I waited for a snapdrogon version to be available on the Samsung ultra model And a one terabyte storage in the middle east marked as it makes more sense with the new 200 megapixel sensor to have a bigger storage . Last year it was rediculous to have neither of them in the area . And a trial to buy a us or uk snapdragon version with 1 terabyte online would cost nearly double the price so I stopped searching and preferred waiting for 2023. Graphics again was also behind in the exynos version .. Pixel 7 pro on the other hand is making wide steps to catch Samsung, smoother graphics , earlier updates, no software duplication ...but it lacks a local market in the middle east for maintenance and accessories . It continues to introduce itself as a possible alternative to Samsung in the near future.
Wake me up when Google catches up to the features on the galaxy. Can the pixel even normalize volume levels on the device yet? Can it play multi apps at once each with their own audio uninterrupted? I'll take functionality any day than deliberately dumbing the phone down to have smoother animations.
I have both s22 ultra and s23 ultra.. I can see no difference in battery life😢😢.. I use amazon prime, Netflix, youtube etc.. PLEASE REPLY IF YOU GUYS HAVE SAME EXPERIENCE
I haven't had a single problem yet, I don't want to speak for other users, but I think most of these videos are being made just to be made, not because there is an actual issue with this phone.
no hate but if your comparing the iphone and the Samsung at 1:53 just press the home button dont put the navigation bar the same as iphone you should just put it into the default settings and that is why it is slow and with just a press of a button it will be more faster then the iphone LOL
My dad's been a cell phone user since the "bag phone" and brick where you clipped an antenna onto your window to use.. he's not really using it for photos videos Etc. From what he has told me, this phone is Far and Away the best phone he has ever used.. Hands down. If you use your phone like a computer to do work etc, this phone is a dream. He previously had the S10 Plus. He was going to get the flip phone, but he said the 22 Ultra is so terrific that there's no reason to buy the flip phone yet. And he's been dreaming of a flip phone for at least 10 years lol.. PS.. He LOVES the camera too!
But Exynos is on vacation for two years than discontinued. They are working on it till 2024 and they have made a team of thousand people. 2025 will mark the return of the Exynos.
I think this was pretty fair I needed a new phone and I got taken in a bit by the deals for Amazon day 😅 while it's a massive upgrade on my total budget phone from 2017 I can't see myself keeping it for the long haul if I really need to change again the battery life isn't ideal the camera zoom is amazing but I want a better overall phone that take all things consideration but with its really good screen I know it will still be mint when I trade it if I need to so I like how this phone has imo good resale potential.
I would like to add that the problem with samsung in general rn is its trying hard to be like apple with ita form factors with the exception of the fold my s5 was so modular and i do like the protection on this fone like not needing a case as much is great for resale value the camera is the best idk what carma is better for zoom but yes the slow downs and such tend to bug me as im always busy leaving a lot of windows open the galaxy watches are kinda odd always like they dont do enough customer product testing there i had my gf try my galaxy watch shes an iphone user and she got farther then i did with it but also had the same problem i used to find even the os on samsung better but now its starting to feel more like apples strange menus even tho i always found apple easy but kinda strange also they have Siri now and bixby just isnt on the level yet maybe this is also a software issue as apple be getting and edge there and samsung is still nee with some of its os tech
Yeah take it from an iPhone user but if you're a Samsung user it's not really a fair justification of a re view I consider a pretty low And making arguments and complaints about something that cannot be complained about if you have a snap dragon.

I don't have the exonys SoC that you have, and I have never experienced overheating. Further, you adjust the speed and smoothness of the S22 Ultra. Have you tried that? Battery life easily lasts a day. I'm not sure what you are talking about. Also, the lowlight photos on the S22 Ultra beat the iPhone Max photos. Multiple reviews have stated that. The iPhone video is better, but the S22 photos are better than the iPhone's. In the S22 you can easily adjust your photos to match your personal tastes, you can't do that on the iPhone.

Facts
I returned my Z Fold 3 and got an S22+; same issue for me with it

Samsung is to start work on a new processor, which will be available only in the Galaxy S series. From what I read, this processor is to debut in 2025. Snapdragon processors are not that good, they overheat too, even Snapdragon 8+ Gen. 1. The truth is that only iPhones last long, Android phones don't. I think the problem is not only the processor itself, but the software optimization.

The S21 ultra is a beast of phone! 🤑

Interestingly I use a Samsung s20 fe with a snapdragon chip and transitions are really smooth, even comparable to the iPhones. Occasional lags and app performance being jittery are common issues but more to do with Android freedom to devs than the chisepts.
Same with the Exynos variant
I just purchased a s22 ultra brand new 128gb 4 months back, and its really good. With all the updates, the performance, camera, battery, everything is pretty good. I'm easily getting 6 hrs of screen on time and if I turn off the 120hz then it's 7 or evn 7+ hrs.
I've been rocking the s21 (256GB)
And it's been okay, not great but okay.
Sure there are amazing moments like sometimes using the camera and niche features, but there's also serious downsides like battery, janky software and a weaker chipset (exynos) and it's these negative that take it from being great down to jst okay...
That's because u.have exinos I loved my s21u currently have the 22u
It continues to introduce itself as a possible alternative to Samsung in the near future.
Graphics aren't behind when the AND GPU of the Exynos is optimized
Wake me up when Google catches up to the features on the galaxy. Can the pixel even normalize volume levels on the device yet? Can it play multi apps at once each with their own audio uninterrupted? I'll take functionality any day than deliberately dumbing the phone down to have smoother animations.
I'm a bit afraid of 200mp optimization! Remember the s20 ultra 🤓
the optimization shouldn’t be a problem since they’ve been working on it for a while now
True man, that's why I am also afraid of 200mp
I have both s22 ultra and s23 ultra.. I can see no difference in battery life😢😢.. I use amazon prime, Netflix, youtube etc.. PLEASE REPLY IF YOU GUYS HAVE SAME EXPERIENCE
I don't agree the Pixel is smoother overall. I have the Pixel 7 Pro and scrolling isn't smoother than my S21 Ultra.
I haven't had a single problem yet, I don't want to speak for other users, but I think most of these videos are being made just to be made, not because there is an actual issue with this phone.
S22 ultra is perfect still now. ❤️❤️❤️
no hate but if your comparing the iphone and the Samsung at 1:53 just press the home button dont put the navigation bar the same as iphone you should just put it into the default settings and that is why it is slow and with just a press of a button it will be more faster then the iphone LOL
Please learn how to use punctuation, it's a total mess trying to read what you wrote 😂
Yeah take it from an iPhone user but if you're a Samsung user it's not really a fair justification of a re view I consider a pretty low And making arguments and complaints about something that cannot be complained about if you have a snap dragon.
I love my s22 ultra 2 years and never a problem. Plus the vibration is soooo much stronger than the s22 ultra and the s23 ultra.
Bring back the removable SD card
I have used E 990 Note 20 U for 2 yrs, so having no issues with S22U. Hoping S23U will bethe king of Android in2023.
Exynos note 20 ultra is one of the worst phones ever.
@@lakkadbagga Hehe, thats what I told, If a person can use that phon for 2 yrs, then s22U should have no issues for him . By the way N20U is only flagship phone where you can use 2 sim and memory card at the same time, due to e sim
Should have used the Snapdragon version
I wish I could find a review that gets in-depth about the small stuff. I want to know if there's a separate tone for messages and not a combined tone with notifications, etc.
Heating issue
I have a Samsung s21 ultra exynos chip it works so good just it heat up sometimes that's the only problem i have with it and i love it and all phones of Samsung
It'll take a toll next year... My S20+ is struggling now
Wait for 2024 to have removable batteries making comeback
waiting till 2024 so I could even get the S23 Ultra.
For the average person both there last two devices sufficed.Just glad that Samsung integrated the pen and did not make a mistake and get rid of it.Would be nice if Samsung could also bring back the IR blaster .Thanks so much for sharing all the information regarding New.Deb✌️
