      @@drew65sep + He's as good as Cliff Burton, and I am not cutting down CB, but his body of work is very minimal. Geezer on the other hand has been at this since the mid 60s, thats alot of years.

      @budgiemcleod4443 5 лет назад +16

      Give me a break! Cliff Burton has nothing on Geezer Butler. Aside from a few solos here and there, his bass playing wasn't all that everyone claims it was. Sorry guys but Cliff is overrated. If he was still alive he'd be about as relevant a bass player as Frank Bello. Listen to Metallica and then listen to Geezer on "die young" or "TV crimes" and you'll see that Cliff doesn't even come close.

    I’m a bass player, Geezer was and still is the reason I got into the bass. I started out playing the guitar 🎸 and a bro I used to jam with in high school played bass, told me I was a natural at the bass whenever I would fuck around with his axe. I have big hands, those long fingers helped a lot in nailing down those fat strings. Being 6’3” has its bennyz. I been covering Geezer’s riffs forever, that’s probably the origin of my own style. Geez fuckin kills it every time! Long live Metal!

    Dio had such a beautiful control over the voice. Remarkable singer and musician. There are so many fine details in this piece that could be analyzed forever, but just to point something small, still beautiful: from 1:08 starts a long "baaaaaaaaaaaall". Now, its first straight, although very strong and well supported, sound and then after 2/3 released to a very accurate operatic vibrato. A great example how a great singer can control his voice... and effortlessly.

      Dio started in elf and quickly was a major talent. When Ritchie Blackmore needed a prodigy to kick off rainbow. You see who he hired. One of the best

    I was so fortunate to have witnessed this show live in 2008 at the Sears Center, Hoffman estates il. One of, If not the best show I've ever seen of Ronnie live, and I seen him 4 different times during the Dio years. I remember being so pumped the day of this show, such an amazing line up. Toni is the original metal Riff Master!!

    Saw 'em on this tour at The Forum in Los Angeles, from the very front row. Then went to Ronnie's funeral at Forest Lawn in LA a few years later. :-( Grew up with Dio and Sabbath, and he/they will always be in my soul. First concert: Dio at the Long Beach Arena, in 1983.

    All our rock/metal legends are ageing and or dying. None of the younger bands will ever match these legends and we'll be left with just memories and the older music.
