Headed out with some friends to target some rays off the pier on this session. Plenty of fish to be had. A couple of spotteds were landed and a lovely Thornback ray as well. Not by me I hasten to add,. I just had a load of dogfish, but I still really enjoyed

Thanks Jim mate, that means a lot, I enjoy fishing, I like the fact that any bite could be that fish, but as long as I'm catching I don't mind, if I blank I just try to fish a bit harder next time. I don't get people that go out, and then moan because they didn't get a pb blonde ray for example. What's the point 🤣🤣👍🎣🎣

Great session Dylan, sounds like you had a good bit of banter with your mates. You had a few doggies but when people around you are getting a few proper fish you always think that you’re in with a chance. Personally I have never had that much luck fishing for thornbacks with peelers. I have caught many more on squid or bluey. The only thornies I’ve caught on peelers is while fishing for smoothies. Sorry to hear about your woes on the match but looking forward to your next outing.

Hi Dylan ... That used to be my speak ... Whenever I had a doggie, or ten ... Catch anything mate? .. yeh, a few lesser spotted cat sharks ... Always, sounded better ...😂 But why is a cat called a dog!? 😂 ...I remember my first Thornback ray, and mishandling it, caused a bloody hand ... But you have yet to enjoy the feeling ... 😁😉 ... Thanks John, it does definitely sound better. I remember once watching a video, and someone was saying if there are dogfish about, then there are rays too. The thornback is still eluding me, but fingers crossed I can get one soon. My next sessions I think I'm just going to really try and get one👍🎣🎣

another good view , pity about the last comp,but you will bounce back im sure, on the subject of comps... wonder if its possible to give a quick mention on the result of the last comp, fish caught etc....when you do a pleasure session straight after. just curious thatsall. cheers.
