I'm pretty sure in England we have no thrift stores, here there called charity shops 😂
My favourite local thrift store (I am in the UK) is literally only 5-7mins walk from my house so I just wash my hands when I get home but sanitising is super important so I am glad you advocate that especially when your thrift store looks so clean and fancy!
