The golden age indeed! Having been introduced to the madrigal over 50 years ago at university in the second year history of music course, it continues to be a source of great enjoyment. Well done Voces8!
The perfection of Voces8 - no single voice ever dominates - precisely clipped consonants - no vibrato - each singer hearing the other seven - no need for a conductor - but intensely rehearsed, and performed.
There really aren't appropriate adjectives in the English language to describe this kind of singing. The perfect pitch, the blending, the diction, the vocal control - does it get better than this? I don't think so. Thank you, Voces 8!!
The smoothness of all of your voices, makes me see slowly dripping honey, with no interruptions. I am very grateful to each of you. May all of you have a healthy, happy week. ❤
This is one of the few RUclips channels that I get Notifications of new content. It's always worth it, as in this case. Beautiful interplay of harmonies from some very talented musicians.
VOCES8, you have bereft me of all words. Only my blood speaks to you in my veins, And there is such confusion in my powers As after some oration fairly spoke By a belovèd prince there doth appear Among the buzzing pleasèd multitude, Where every something being blent together Turns to a wild of nothing, save of joy Expressed and not expressed… (Very slightly adapted from Bassanio’s speech to Portia in The Merchant of Venice - portrays precisely my joy at the sheer beauty of this performance)
I applaud your educational ventures, your resident composer program, etc. But wow, it's best of all when you get back to the staples of a capella that we all love so much! Thanks so much for this release.
Brilliantly done, as usual! You guys should consider looking into the repertoire of the British composer John Farmer (1570-1601)...he wrote some amazing madrigals.
As I've said in other comments, you create some of the most sublime vocal chamber music I have ever heard. Having said that, may I make a comment? Your videos in which you sing for memory are superior. It was so wonderful and unusual to listen to singers who don't have that barrier between each other and the audience. When music is memorized the musician knows it more completely than when not.
Exquisite. From a golden age of English music.

I suggest "Ubi caritas et amor" from Maurice Durufle
The way your voices blend is out of this world.
It's like christmas in july. Overwhelming.

The best choral vocal group in the world. Thank you, VOCES8!
Oh my, this swept me back 75 years to my university choral society days, and the ineffable joy of singing music like this. Thank you.

Perfection, sensitively sung with beautiful purity from Molly singing the upper soprano part.
The shot at 1:08 just shows the level of this ensemble... how Blake is listening! I loved that!
One of my favourite madrigals, a masterful rendition.
I feel as if I am in the presence of the angels when I hear your soaring voices.
Vous êtes parfaits ainsi...Merci à vous tous.....🌹🌹🍀🍀❤❤🕊🕊
Wunderschöne Musik. Wie kann man denn so schön singen? Ich bin ganz begeistert.Danke.
The smoothness of all of your voices, makes me see slowly dripping honey, with no interruptions.

Sublime! Thank you for your beautiful healing, yet wrenching, Sound! You break my heart and heal it in the same instant.
Thank You Voces8 For This Beautiful Gift Of Music 🎶
Wonderful from all, but special mention of Molly's vocal part - beautiful purity!
A word also, please, for John Wilbye's sweet counterpoint and moving words. There were giants in those days.

Me and 7 of my cohorts sang this north of Baltimore ( USA) on a cold rainy last night. IMHO there is no better English madrigal
Was für ein wunderbarer Klang!

Abject, glorious, wonderful beauty! Thank you Voces8! You have to be the best in the world at this genre of musical excellence!!
A perfect balance between austerity, required by the sung text, and musical sensitivity.
Maravilloso!!. Saludos desde Argentina.
Hauntingly and enchanting beautiful...... completely captivating..... ❤❤❤
