- Mustang GTD was recently unveiled to the public. The 2025 Mustang GTD is a supercar rival from Ford. Mustang GTD will feature a 5.2L supercharged V8 with over 800 horsepower.
The Mustang GTD aims to be the most track ready mustang ever build. However, here are some reasons why the Mustang GTD will fail. Price has to be the biggest with Mustang GTD costing $325k!

It's a race car, people aren't worried about the interior, it's all about performance, engine suspension aerodynamics.
For 300k they should've done the interior better...
Yup basically this^ I’m not expecting quilted leather seat with luxury features or even carbon fiber everything but at least make it different than $30k Ecoboost
Yeah but it’s 300 grand
Ford likes bending over the ford mustang fan boys. 🌈🦄
eBay will have the GTD kits for $1000.
If your not happy with interior, there's a lot of people inline that will take it.
I am a Porsche GT3 owner who wants this Mustang GTD. Thanks for your video, but perhaps the perspective of a Porsche track car owner may be helpful. 1. the value and innovativeness of this car is in its mechanical makeup; the suspension, aero, lightweight, carbon fiber, and its dry sump addition to the engine is revolutionary, 2. INTERIOR; you complain that the interior looks just like other Mustangs. Have you ever seen the interiors of the 911 line? The base Carrera to the GT2 RS (all 911s) share the same interior architecture; they are all 911s and vary only in minor ways in the interior. why are you surprised that the GTD has the same basic interior structure on the dash as other Mustangs (BTW: there are rather large differences in the use of carbon fiber and the video displays; 3. Steering wheel; this car cannot have an F1 steering wheel; it has to be street legal. All 911s have a very similar steering wheel (when you look at the Cup Car or ClubSport - made for racing - these have the racing type steering wheel). I personally don't care about the interior of my 992 GT3; I don't use many of the functions; I track it and what I like about the car is its suspension, aero, and engine. 4. Expensive. yes, it is expensive but worth every penny; this is a handmade car that is essentially a racecar that can be street driven. The commenter below says it all; @davedave2882 puts it very succinctly. I just wanted to add that the 911 series has these same features that no one complains about. I think you are looking for reasons to complain. This is not a typical Mustang (its a Ford - Multimatic car). Many regular Mustang owners (most regular car owners) could not afford this car, but this is no different from someone who owns a base Carrera and thinks of a Turbo S, S/T, GT3 RS, GT3, etc. I am pretty psyched about Ford's developments in this area, the GTD and the GT3 racing. very very impressive. I am not sure if I will get an allocation, but I am hopeful
Thanks for adding your insight and I can somewhat see where you are coming from. I do agree but the biggest difference is that Porsche has the luxury to back it up even for base-ish trims. Porsche regardless of trim is seen as a luxury sports car whereas mustang is seen as bargain sports car. $300k for a Mustang has been hard pill to swallow whereas for Porsche, you are just getting started. Nonetheless we both know the GTD will sell out due to extremely limited quantity and engineering behind it
Did you get an allocation?
Yeah the body n the tech itself inclufing the suspension design is fire but the interior is a deal breaker since it looks like a premium s650 with gt500 shift knob.... The interior should atleast look like the ford gt in my opinion.
Yeah I am sure it will still sell out but that interior is a big disappointment!
Yup people will buy anything is their money so all is good but me personally if I had to choose I get the ford gt or gt500 carbon fiber edition
@@fatimajawo484 this car, like the gt, is engineered and built by multimatic motorsports in canada. their engineering and builds are world class. they've worked on amg one, porsche 963, many aston martins including the pro valkyrie. their suspensions are well known as top notch in racing, including formula 1. this isn't a normal mustang at all.
yeah the interior is definitely the reason I'm not getting a GTD 😬
Lmao right? We both have the money it’s just the interior holding us back 😂
😂😂😂😂
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they made it. But that interior is Bad. At that price, the interior should be very Bespoke. The owners should have any color and materials as a no cost option...
Yeah having same interior as $30k Ecoboost doesn’t look good at all. Should have more exotic atrial or different layout
@@Red5oh the layout is a mustang but there's leather and real carbon fibre everywhere. it's hardly econobox quality.
I agree all packages should be standing
Yup!
I am surprised that the GTD even has a full interior. I figured that it would have a more stripped out race car look to save weight. A dark horse weighing in at 4,000 plus lbs is ridiculous! My 1988 F-150 long bed truck weighed 4,300.
That’s a good point and actually didn’t consider that. Stripped down interior for weight savings would be good
keeep it up !!!!
Thank you for watching!
this Mustang is gonna break records, and yes it should for $300k. we all should remember the Charger / Challenger Demon 170 also breaks records for one-third the price.
Very different records and different levels of technology and sophistication
I feel like it will be one of the cars we’d never see in person and only the rich people would have it stored
@@Red5oh no doubt this is the replacement halo car for Ford. even though the GTD is the street version 99% of them will live exclusivity on the track. maybe we’ll see them at Cars & Coffee.
Because waiting in line for 30 minutes to stage for 2 minutes to run for 10 seconds or less only to do it all again is fun.... Would rather have the track car.
lol shout out to anybody who can look in a mirror after having paid $300k FOR A MUSTANG😂
Lol right? Despite being a huge Mustang fan, there’s other cars that would get my money if I had $300k to blow
@@Red5oh same…I DID see the Mustang GTD in person at the Amelia Island Concourse show in April and I must admit… it is gorgeous! But… $350k is enough for a New Z06 and a new Turbo S😵💫
@@BobbyDigital_100 this car, like the gt, is engineered and built by multimatic motorsports in canada. their engineering and builds are world class. they've worked on amg one, porsche 963, many aston martins including the pro valkyrie. their suspensions are well known as top notch in racing, including formula 1. this isn't a normal mustang at all.
@@blackberrythorns well let me be clear. My comment was basically heart break bc at $300k, mustang becomes unattainable or just flat unreasonable conflicting with 100% of their buyer base. I love mustangs, I daily an LC500, and my weekend car is a 24 BMW M4 - this mustang cost as much as both of my cars 2x. But good on Ford to make a people’s car no one will buy
@@BobbyDigital_100 they're already sold out because it's a multimatic mustang and will appreciate like the multimatic gt cars.
Looks like a riced out mustang.
Right? It’s a bit much but interior is where they dropped the ball
I wouldn’t care if it was the fastest car in the world. If I had $300k to blow, it wouldn’t be on ANY car with the name “Mustang.” …I’m a huge Mustang fan. I’ve owned 9 different Mustangs, I currently have a 22 GT500 CFTP. But there are plenty of other cars I would be buying for $300k+. …Not a front engine - crowd crasher.👎🏼
You sound like you have an IQ of 4
Yeah I’m a huge Mustang fan but cannot seem to see the appeal of $300k Mustang aside from bragging rights. There’s a lot of cars I’d buy before the GTD
325k It's trash , i'ma ford guy
Yeah way too expensive for average joe to afford it
@Red5oh an that makes it pointless.
