I particularly like the way you call out the subtle differences between the comparison images with the animations and go into details like HDR and quality of bokeh. You cover a lot of scenarios in a short amount of time, but you manage to include a ton of information. Well done!
I sent my fold 3 back as the camera was too poor at the price range for me. I'm looking forward to a comparison between the fold 4 and the 13 pro max or s22 ultra (which I got instead). I know it won't be as good but I'd take a slightly less stellar camera for the big screen.

Kind of a shame. I really hate the more muted colors. I really feel like the Fold 3 is the better camera other than the better zoom. It's funny. Everyone was knocking the Fold 3's camera, and everyone is praising Fold 4's.
That's a massive upgrade by today's industry standards. I strongly suspect the Fold 4 will come on top versus the S22 Ultra too, save for 10x zoom. This might piss off S22 Ultra users because they're supposed to have the best Samsung camera phone. Are there any Xiaomi 12S Ultra comparisons on the way, Danny?

They are good comparisons like this one that I can't be content with simply leaving a "like"... but I need to praise, comment and encourage... congratulations Danny! Unquestionable the upgrade made by Samsung from one generation to another... and not only in the photos and videos... that really makes me take my hat off to a manufacturer, unlike what it did with the 'S' line this year. He shoved the Spen down everyone's throats, making people in love with the 'S' line from the previous year, like me, get nauseous, seeing a worsening in the sound, in the drums, in the resistance, either in terms of risks or the level of drops, especially in the camera lenses, and even in the grip that was great last year, it got more slippery, although I like the note style, because I have a Note 10 Plus. As for performance, the results speak for themselves... even losing to the previous line in some cases... this is bad to see... the Spen occupying a space that could be used for so many things as a better thermal solution , making the chipset, which is no longer a big deal, get even hotter, generating instability, general downgrade in relation to the S21 Ultra. Of course, a lot is hidden folks... there are few channels that show the details... and I'm not saying that the S22u is bad, but that in relation to what we see, for example, here in the Fold 4, it's shameful Samsung's work with the 'S' and 'Note' line. In cameras smaller sensors and more compressed lenses, generating less detail in various situations both in photos and videos, all camouflaged by an aggressive contrast, which sometimes compromises the HDR and the naturalness of the colors... want, especially after the previous line received OneUi 4.1. Danny, make one of these mega comparisons of yours between the two 'S' UIltra lines at the moment... I believe that the people who accompany you here like me will be jaw-dropped. A big hug and congratulations once again!
Crazy how much it goes back and forth but I'm really enjoying using the 4 more than I did with the 3, finding myself reaching for the Fold 4 over the 22Ultra Congrats on the new car. Ioniq 5 is awesome, is this repalcing your Model 3?
The camera quality from Android keeps getting better, their quality keeps getting better and even the iPhone loses. I will move to Samsung from iPhone 12
Thank you for the video with excellent comparisons shots, too! I most likely will upgrade to the Fold4 from my Fold3. Nevertheless, in terms of photography and aside a few key shots shared, I’m not noticing significantly improved photos on the Fold4. The differences are noticeable when compared side-by-side and while pixel-peeping. Many of the Fold3 photos, when viewed as a whole, come across, at least to me, as quality shots. I’ll agree also that when the pixel-peeping difference grow in number, the overall quality of the shot does definitely improve, but I don’t think we’re there yet with the Fold4.
Danny... I have the Z FOLD 3. I don't take selfies, or use the selfie cam(s). When I take a picture of something, I open the phone, and point and shoot. But, I notice the quality of my photos are somewhat blurry and grainy, even holding still. Is the problem with the quality of the camera? Or, do I need to make some sort of setting adjustment on the camera, to make the photo clearer?

Let us be honest so we have some perspective. The fold3 was a pretty sub-par flagship camera setup, in hardware and software. It was well down the list of camera phones in 2021/22. Simply unacceptable for $1000 let alone $1800. The Fold4 hardware is closer to what we would expect at the $1000 price range, though clearly just above-average at best, and below the S22U. Software improvements y-o-y are to be expected and most we see here are correcting flaws rather than dramatic improvements. So nice for the Fold4 to get a better camera array and nicer results, but I am still underwhelmed for $1800 and the S22U remains the de facto Samsung choice if you want the best camera, though the SD8G1 means you are probably better waiting for the S23U. It is def an improvement so a win, but really only catching up with what we should accept and still not the full nine yards for what we are paying; B+ maybe?
I finally decided to upgrade for the form factor. My new Nikon mirrorless has ruined ALL phone cameras for me, so that's no longer considered in my purchase decision.

Hey Danny: what kind of output are you getting from the main sensor in Pro? My file sizes are 3060x4080 which is definitely NOT 50mp. So my Fold 4 is using less than half the sensor in Pro.
1yr phone difference is always less But for people upgrading from Fold 2 it's worth the upgrade Hope the Screen protector will last for a year, the Fold 3 did not last 6 months

A lot of these improvements apply to the Z Flip4 too. Better highlight control, HDR, etc. Both are very impressive.

I have the exynos s22u so a fold with snapdragon may be good for those of us in europe.
I wouldn't buy an S22U just for the camera. I have an S22U and I don't take 8k, 100x zoom photos all day long.
