The whole point of football is the memories we make with the people we care about. My late father coached me my whole life and I got the opportunity to coach my son in football also. We are from Rhode Island so the Patriots are our team but it's all about the time we spent watching and playing the game.

When they basically ended the "Next Tom Brady's" career with a 45-7 beating the 2014 AFC title game was massively satisfying in the moment. I had to think about it for a while, but I think this Chiefs game is the very best non-superbowl game of the second dynasty, but most satisfying was watching Legarrete Blount wreck the Colts and Andrew Luck fold into oblivion after that game. The after effects of that game, and the utter bs that was deflategate , are the only reason that I think people don't remember how monumental it was at the time. It was also the absolute unquestioned start of the second Pats dynasty, but the really great thing about being a Patriots fan, is this is what we get to talk about, we were lucky to watch it

This and the " ice bowl " in 1967 have to be the 2 greatest games in NFL history. The Ice Bowl was Vince Lombardi 's Green Bay Packers against Tom Landry's Dallas Cowboys. And yes, the Vince Lombardi they named the trophy after. BTW, back in 1967 there were no coordinators. The QB's called their own plays in the huddle on the field.

    • @glennhalila8279

There's several games that were darn near as good. This past season you have the Cheifs vs the Bills one heckbof a game then the Cheifs vs the Bengals another heck of a game. The Bucs and The Rams another heck of a game. Then the Super Bowl. Ja Marr Chase was wide open and if Donald had been blocked out Chase scores winning Touchdown Catch and Bengals win Super Bowl. Why Mike Brown didn't get Burrow any protection after an almost career end injury sustained in Washington is beyond comprehension? There's a really good RUclips video about a Quarterback named Greg Cook. He was the Cincinnati Bengals first Quarterback and the Bengals were in first place and beat the Cheifs already after 6 or 7 games, but a career ending shoulder injury changed everything, kinda like Bo Jackson's hip injury.

No, I'd say that was 2001, if we're focusing on the defensive performance. The Patriots offense was far more effective in 2004 and 2018. The 2004 defense was more talented than either one, too (despite secondary injuries).

Pats "D" was only on the field for a total of 40 minutes (Chargers & Chiefs) Combined.. Brady vs The Chargers had them up 35-7 at the Half .. Josh McDaniels did all the play calling.. Belichicks "D" allowed Mahomes to drive for the game tying FG 70 yards with only 37 seconds left after Brady put The Pats ahead with a TD..

In 20 years this game will be looked back on like "the drive" game with Elway and the Broncos against the Browns. This was an iconic game and those last 3 drives that Brady put together and those three long 3rd down pass completions were the stuff of legends.

Sadly here we are a good few years later...and its just another game for brady...
      Montana has really 2 moments
The catch vs dallas...and his drive to win the SB vs cincy
They live on because that's really all he has that are really memorable
By today's standards...the SB drive is just average on the greatness scale..he had 3 min..and all 3 timeouts
Brady just beat that in this game
On the road no less.. he only had 2 min..then mahomes ties it with 41 seconds for his team...
As a pats fan this ranks up there..but in bradys highlight reel..its not top 5
      Hahahahah
      First sb drive to win
      2nd sb drive to win
      28-3
      Down 10 vs Seattle
The DIME to 87 for SB win
      He just has soooo many

I hadn't watched them most of the year and assumed what everyone else did: that they were a nice, playoff caliber team, could maybe make the conference title game, and thats it. Turns out they were maybe the most talented team in the league, at least top 2. I'm a huge Brady fan, but its a stretch to say greatest achievement in sports history. Is it up there tho? Yes. It was truly remarkable. To come into your first new system of your pro career at the age of 43, then essentially coach the offense all year, lead the team, be the gm and attract talent to the team, then beat Brees, Rodgers, and Mahomes on the way to a title for Tampa of all teams, is incredible. One guy literally came in for a season and gave an entire franchise a blueprint on how to win a title, and what it takes. He took Gronk from a guy who felt like he couldn't do it anymore, to a guy who's excited about next year. He took Antonio Brown from a guy who couldn't act right, to a guy who just shows up, does his job, and acts like a humble professional. He's one of the best coaches in the league and he's not even a coach. It's incredible. And he showed that he never needed Belichick, other than maybe early on, which we'll never know. In fact, this has been Brady's best Super Bowl in a while, as if Belichick was holding him back. I think Belichick is still great, and his defensive genius and leadership along with Tom's offensive genius and leadership made for a legendary 1-2 punch. But Brady is THE guy. You can find other qbs with better arms or mobility. But you lose something irreplaceable without Tom: his smarts, his vision, and his leadership/coaching, both on and off game day.

I grew up loving the Pats and sold beer at their games. I found myself living in Atlanta and selling beer in Mercedes Benz stadium when this game happened. I was crying at the end because I knew I was going to get to see Tom Brady and my Pats playing in a Super Bowl for free as I was already going to work the Super Bowl. I sold about 2 beers that whole Super Bowl and just enjoyed Tom winning his 6th Championship. I would’ve sold about $3,000 more worth of beer that Super Bowl if the Chiefs had won this AFC championship game lol

@@petersydow4002 if you’re tying championships won that’s another argument entirely that I’m not really caring about. My point is, the chiefs would be nothing without Mahomes. The colts would’ve been nothing without Peyton. The broncos weren’t even consistently winning 8 games before Peyton joined that team. The pats were continually playoff losers before Brady pushed them over the edge. The packers would be a 6 win team without Rodgers. These quarterbacks break many boundaries between what a good quarterback is compared to what a great quarterback is. Sometimes a great quarterback gets lucky enough to get the right elements of a great team enough to win a championship but here’s a hole in that logic. Ben Roethlisberger and Eli Manning both have 2 super bowl rings. Would you honestly sit here and say with a straight face that either of those quarterbacks, even in their prime, are better than Mahomes or Rodgers simply because they have more super bowl rings than them. Or even on the same level as Peyton because they have the same amount of rings? No. You know why? Because winning a super bowl takes more than just a QB no matter how big a part that position plays on a team. It’s still a team sport and they still need consistent help from other players in order to win.

Mahomes in "his" Era has a losing record to Brady 0 1 on Sb,0 1 in playoffs and 2 and 3 overall. Patriots did everything they can to hand the Chiefs the win in the 4th quarter of this game. First the 4th and 1 stuff at the KC 25 yard line when the Patriots were already in FG range and they choose to run up the middle instead of doing a QB sneak. Then the Edelman muffed punt/tip INT on a perfectly thrown ball that basically gave all of the momentum to the Chiefs. Then with 3 minutes left in the game, JC Jackson commits a holding penalty on Kelce's fumble that would've gave the Patriots the ball at the KC 30 yard line with 3 minutes left in the game. Then with 2 minutes 50 seconds left, Mahomes throws a pass into the endzone into double coverage that hits Jones right in the stomach and should've been picked off. Then the pick play that was blatant OPI that led to a touchdown. Then on the Patriots final drive in regulation, Chris Hogan drops a wide open pass on the KC 20 yard line on 2nd and 10 with a minute to go in the game. And then finally the interception that bounced off Gronk’s hands with like a minute left where I don't even know what Brady and Gronk were doing or thinking of in that situation.
The Patriots were dominating them for the first 3 quarters and then they just completely sh*t their pants in the 4th quarter and almost choked it away. They literally did everything they can to give the Chiefs the game. If it weren't for Dee Ford man. Thank goodness for Dee Ford because that was going to be one of the worst losses ever in Patriots history if it weren’t for him

the chiefs scored in every drive they had in the 4th quarter and the edelman muffed punt was overturned and the punt wasn't thrown it was kicked,

the chiefs couldn't do anything in the 1st half. Quit acting as if dee ford this and dee ford that was the reason why the Patriots won the game. Brady was put in 3 3rd and longs in OT and the chiefs' defense could've made a play to stop that touchdown winning drive and they didn't. Why didn't you mention any of that? Give credit where credit is due and quit adding salt to your assertion.

JC Jackson didn't commit a DPI on that Travis Kelce Fumble. Sammy Watkins TRIPPED on his own two feet and the ref threw a phantom flag to save the Chiefs there. But since its against the Patriots nobody speaks a word of this

The ending to this game is epic. Though KC isn't sfrßid of Brady as he matches down the field on the final drive. It doesn't matter how confident they are because Brady starts to land devastating body blows one after another and another and another... Back breaker!

I was at this game. The coldest I have ever been. It was crazy. My beer had frost in it about a min after opening it. I literally held my piss for 2 and a half hours because I didn't want to move. Glad I got to see the Patriots win in KC. Loved seeing chiefs fans tears.
