    Patriots and Ravens battled to a 2-2 draw in the playoffs from 09-14. That was a rivalry

      It's so funny too. I would not call the Ravens the most talented team in the world (yeah they had nice pieces on defense but a lot of those guys were getting old) but they were the ultimate matchup quirk against NE and Harbaugh went toe-to-toe w Belichick.

      @@somerandomguy84 you underrate the ravens talent. The Ravens had some great players on offense. Good TEs and WRs, Flacco was good when he was consistent, and the Patriots faced Suggs and Nagata in their prime years. Reed and Lewis were still pro-bowlers, and the Ravens also had a lot of other studs on their defense.

    Losing the super bowl that year hurt. That missed field goal by the Ravens felt like Myra Krafts spirit aiding the Patriots along their season. The Patriots just had so much bad luck in that super bowl and the giants of course being the derp that they were got all the luck. There's way more analysis that goes into SB46 but the Patriots, just like in SB42, had the Giants beat but just couldn't put the final nail in. I won't cry with 6 rings but that year.... doing it for Myra..... just felt right. Damn.

      that's the way luck works, though. The belichick-brady pats made the super bowl 9 times in total and won 6 while the other 3 were still really close games. youre going to get unlucky in some of those super bowls. but the pats showed why they were the greatest dynasty ever by winning 6.

    • @rmh941
      @rmh941 2 года назад +8

      Lol typical Patriots fan, only acknowledges what went against them not went for them. The Patriots didn't beat a single team with an above .500 record that year until they beat the better and more complete Ravens team because of a dropped pass and missed field goal. What bad luck in the Super Bowl...you can't be talking about the dumb intentionally grounding that led to a safety on the first drive, or what about the dum throw downfield to a hobbled Gronkowski...Patriots beat themselves and they didn't even deserve to be in that Super Bowl. If we are talking about luck, then clearly the Ravens and niners deserved that Super Bowl more than the giants that beat the miners mostly because of one player, Kyle Williams choking, and the Pats got in because of two guys choking.

      He took you guys way further than should have been possible. To the doorstep of victory, and as a Dallas fan, I really wanted you guys to stick it to the Giants this time, but ah well. With that defense, it should not have been considered an upset like 2007 was tbh. Very few QBs could have taken such an unbalanced team and gone 13-3 with it. In reality that was more like a 10 win team at best on balance, but Brady was just so good that year. The problem was their offense had to play perfect to win, they didn't have much margin for error.

    I've always wondered why teams don't use young recievers as corners especially in nickel packages covering underneath slot receivers and running backs. It seems fairly high reward and low risk with a safety over the top. Think of all those 5'10" to 6'1" 22 year olds who are often smarter and quicker than they are pure talent and burner speed. You could take some risks jumping routes and getting a pick 6 and with the safety help only risk 8 yards
