Great video. I can honestly say I got a lot more out of watching this than I did with the PADI equipment specialist cert

Wow i really wish i could pick red mind. Its clear that he knows what he is talking about.
I keep getting conflicting info or suggestions regarding tanks or gear. Especially lp or hp tanks. Im a newer diver, an air hog and also use a dry suit. I dont plan on tech diving. Im a bigger guy so not too worried with tank length.
I like that he only suggests or recommends gear when listening to what a person plans to dive and tailors it to their need.
Interesting he wouldn't recommend a regulator bag. I would have thought they were a good idea to protect the regulator.

I wish he would have told us more about brands he doesn't like. Im curious about the dive rite regulators as one lds pushes them alot

I actually am for a regulator bag but depending on circumstance. The big concern he has is the drying of it. But he also dives commercially regularly.
LP is usually the best way to go for tanks if you just want more volume and without requiring high pressure. HP require a higher pressure to hit their capacity, but are usually more compact 🤷‍♂️

I’ll be interviewing him again soon. The problem with brands is they change and it also depends on local service and application, so it isn’t always so simple.

@TheScubaDivingChannel yep makes sense. Both the dive shops and hour away service dive rite regs. They had a blackfriday deal with a complete setup for $600. That's two second stage regs not an octo, First stage and spg.
My target is 10-15 diving days recreationalally a season. I'm hoping to do more but i want a realistic target to aim for.
As a new diver, I'm wanting to make the best decisions possible without looking like a brand ad or getting things i don't need

I think Red said a steel 72 holds 72 cu ft at 2250 psi. It’s my understanding that it only holds 66 cu ft at that pressure. To get to 72 cu ft you need to give it the old 10% overfill to 2475 (if its got the + stamp from the last hydro). Whats the correct answer?

He actually knows what he’s talking about from real experience, not just edited video ridiculing others - he’s seen them and literally laughed.
