People get vestibular disorders too, and it's literally disorienting and often scary. They can include lots of vomiting and vertigo...it's just awful. So glad your little Malibu is improving and as with many diseases, love is a wonderful medicine. Best to she and Whiskey for long happy lives together.

He knew what to do instinctively, any creature with that disorder needs calm and he recognised her panic and sought to soothe her. She will get over it I am sure, it just takes time. She is a lucky bunny!

Is it possible that the vestibular disease Malibu has been experiencing is due to a cerebellar stroke?
Whiskey is definitely helping to pull her through.
@@CynthiaTrombley-jz9dhhi there! according to our vet, strokes are very rare in rabbits. the more likely suspects are inner ear infections or a parasite called E Cuniculi. Malibu’s CT test showed no sign of ear infection & the rest of her brain appeared normal too. Her EC test also came back negative, but that could be a false negative & she’ll have to be retested in a few months. every test shows she’s a “normal, healthy “ rabbit. she could also have a different parasite like roundworm which there’s no testing for. we may never know for certain what caused her vestibular disease, but the antibiotics, anti parasite, & supportive care should clear up whatever the root cause is ♥️
Thank God it wasn't a sad ending.

How sad that Malibu was abandoned but lovely that she bonded w/Whisky. Yes, my last dog suffered the onset of CVD at 12/13. The first episode was scary, but after a couple weeks, he was left only w/balance issues and head tilt for the rest of his life. Thanks for adopting your bunnies and sharing their story.🐇💕🐇
