Why would the Vikings trade all that capital when they could simply pick Michael Pennix at 11 and get the best downfield thrower in the draft to match with Jefferson and Addison. They would still have pick 23 to get much needed defensive help. Just doesn't make any sense!

I can't imagine the Giants trading up to pick 33 to draft a qb. I would have to imagine if a team is wanting a qb in that range, they will go for pick 32 so they get the extra year option for the contract.
Mel's wrong about Denver. Sean will absolutely take Bo Nix if he's still on the board. As a long time Broncos fan I'd be pissed if they go with a corner or even the best available.

I’m not sure why the Steelers are in love with Barton. They need a right tackle so the obvious choice is Mims. Then in round 2 they draft an actual center in Jackson Powers Johnson or Zach Frazier. Why draft Barton and convert him to a center?

Guyton over mimes would be a mistake
I usually take Mels opinion as gospel but I think he made this mock up for it to be talked about more. He is crazy to make some of those picks. JPJ will go within the first 35 selections. Tyler Nubin is at least a top 3 Safety. Cooper is a good corner but but unless a team is really looking for the punt return, He is more like the number 3 or maybe 4 corner in this draft. If we get to 20 with both Pennix and Nix still on the board I would be shocked and there will be a trade frenzy. I don't think they will wait until pick 1 of the 2nd (the first round contract thing will be in play).
I see Baltimore taking a OT in first 2 rounds who can be a day 1 starter, because right now theres no true reliable starting OT on the roster, i wouldn't be surprised if they traded back for an extra 2nd & 3rd rounder

Khristian Boyd, but he's not in the first two rounds.
Newton would NOT get by the Titans at #38. No way that is possible. DT is a big need for the Titans, even more than WR (after the Titans signed Calvin Ridley), because there is no quality DT starter outside of Jeffrey Simmons. Plus, Newton is easily a 1st Rd value, slipping into the 2nd Rd. As a GM, you don't let those guys slide past you, when you have a need at their position.

Yes, he probably is. Last year, I thought Hendon Hooker was easily a late 1st Rd pick or 2nd at worst. He ended up going to Detroit in the 3rd. Penix is probably a 2nd or 3rd Rd selection. For Hooker, it was mostly because he suffered an ACL injury late in the season. Penix has an injury history that will scare teams away from taking him in the 1st.
