Dan Orlovsky played in 26 games in his career. He started 12 of them. He won exactly 2 of those starts, managing a whopping 15 total touchdowns and a total of 13 picks to nicely balance it out. I think the Giants are fine not listening to his opinion on the matter.
JJ McCarthy is more likely to mirror Dan Orlvsky's career than anyone else's. A year ago no one knew who hMcCarthy was. The Giants drafted the BEST player in this years draft.
100% correct move. Try to get Maye, fine. If not then it's Nabers alllllll day long. Lets see what Jones can do with the buffed up line and a true weapon at receiver.
It all depends on how the Giants project JJ McCarthy. If they do not believe JJ McCarthy has what it takes to be a franchise quarterback, then they should be disciplined and pass on drafting him. A lot of people criticized the Giants for passing on drafting Sam Darnold when they had the opportunity to draft him and they were proven correct in that decision.
Giants played this the right way. They're stuck by their own doing with Daniel Jones this season, but it's do or die for him and his future with the team. Maye has a lot to improve upon. He's got to sit for awhile to protect him from injury and not destroy everyone's morale.
Whoever the QB is, its the right move. I’m a bears fan so I understand the lack of receiver talent before DJ came in. Nabers will be a stud even if Danny dimes is at QB.
If I remember correctly, Daniel Jones needed a better O-line. If the Giants got him some help in that area (I haven't checked who they drafted outside of Nabers) I think he may do fine.
I understand the position of the Penix pick but it legit is a great pick. We can only hope Cousins can live up to his contract but six years and 1 playoff win with Minnesota say otherwise.
McCarthy has a similar skill set to Jones. I wouldn't say it's an upgrade unless we talking about Caleb Williams. The Giants organization isn't in a position to bring along a QB or develop one, especially with Philly and Dallas waiting twice a year. Give Dimes more weapons with his contract up after this season. This is Jones make or break year.
He really said that JJ is a “play action pass master”😂 Teams sold out on the run every play against Michigan. He was throwing into single coverage constantly. Let’s see how he looks against an NFL defense…
Theres a reason why Dan barely played in the NFL. JJ McCarthy is Daniel Jones 2.0. He barely had to do anything at Michigan. He had arguably the best running back & offensive line in college football. Dan needs to stop talking like he knows more than GM’s.
To think the Giants said “we offered Saquon over $10mil and he said no so we paid Daniel Jones $40…”. Saquon got into an online snafu with Tiki Barber so we’ll have Tiki announce the Giants pick. I think the Giants are a best Organization to football
No the Giants didn't make a mistake. Unless JJ breaks tons of records and leads the Vikings deep into the playoffs without Jefferson, the Giants never would have been able to give JJ what he needs to develop.
Daniel Jones, the Giants QB, will make $36 million dollars this year. He's never thrown more than 14 TD's in a season. He's missed 18 games (more than a season) in the last 3 seasons due to injury. This is nuts. The Giants front office is awful.

JJ needs some development and Giants aren't ready to provide it. Best of love to giants fans and I think by next dradt the team will be a good landing spot for a rookie
The Giants have no QB. Daniel Jones keeps getting hurt. I'm done with Giants. Daniel Jones has literally ruined my team. I can't watch him play another snap in blue.
Daboll and Schoen need a player to come in and help this year, not sit behind jones for a year or 2, by then they will be gone if they havent found success. i love the Nabers pick.
I'm a Giants fan and a Michigan fan. As much as I would love JJ to be a Giant. It could ruin his career. And the fact is JJ went 10th wasn't even the next QB taken. And if the Giants drafted him Nabers would have gone in the next 2 picks.
I don't believe the Giants think Daniel Jones is the answer. I also believe they felt neither is McCarthy. It was Maye or bust for them, and they couldn't get him. Got the best player available at a position of need. I have no complaints.

JJ McCarthy is more likely to mirror Dan Orlvsky's career than anyone else's. A year ago no one knew who hMcCarthy was. The Giants drafted the BEST player in this years draft.
Cope 😂😂😂
100% correct move. Try to get Maye, fine. If not then it's Nabers alllllll day long. Lets see what Jones can do with the buffed up line and a true weapon at receiver.
It all depends on how the Giants project JJ McCarthy. If they do not believe JJ McCarthy has what it takes to be a franchise quarterback, then they should be disciplined and pass on drafting him. A lot of people criticized the Giants for passing on drafting Sam Darnold when they had the opportunity to draft him and they were proven correct in that decision.
Nabers 🔥🔥🔥 Vikings wanted Herbert tho, interesting .
The draft still has Mconkey, Mitchell, Keon Coleman, Troy Franklin and Tee Higgins and Ayuik as potential trade targets. Bills can make some moves
If People were to take Dan seriously you’d think every QB drafted would be an All Pro 😂
Giants played this the right way. They're stuck by their own doing with Daniel Jones this season, but it's do or die for him and his future with the team. Maye has a lot to improve upon. He's got to sit for awhile to protect him from injury and not destroy everyone's morale.
THANK YOU DOM!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! WE DIDNT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE
Everything happens for a reason. I’m a falcons fan and I’m not even complaining about our picks
Giants should have picked JJ, Jones stinks.
sometimes you have to gamble and take a chance on going backward to go forward. glad the giants didn't and Vikings did
Whoever the QB is, its the right move. I’m a bears fan so I understand the lack of receiver talent before DJ came in. Nabers will be a stud even if Danny dimes is at QB.
Jones isn't good but he better than JJ, that would have been dumb. Idk what people see in JJ
We just not gonna talk about penix jr going to the best situation
If we had drafted JJ, then the talk and the memes would be about how he has no one to throw to🤷♂
I don’t know how you can think that a rookie quarterback shouldn’t start in New England, but the Giants should’ve drafted one.
I don’t think Dan actually believes anything he says. He’s gone full Skip Bayless
All QB's are 1st overall picks in Dan's heart, no QB is ever at fault for anything ever 😁
perhaps.. if they had traded back and picked up a qb id agree. otherwise Nabers was the right pick @6
At this point why are you talking about the order of the QBs drafted? They are all first rounders and we will see how they play out in a few months.
Love the teams following the Green Bay method after Love panned out after Rodgers. Twice in a row isn’t just luck!
Huge Mistake
He really said that JJ is a “play action pass master”😂
Teams sold out on the run every play against Michigan. He was throwing into single coverage constantly. Let’s see how he looks against an NFL defense…
Giants are a complete imbesillic organisation
Theres a reason why Dan barely played in the NFL. JJ McCarthy is Daniel Jones 2.0. He barely had to do anything at Michigan. He had arguably the best running back & offensive line in college football. Dan needs to stop talking like he knows more than GM’s.
He certainly knows more then some “coach GM” on RUclips who never played in the league tho 😂
Thats YOUR opion. Plenty of regular ppl have more knowledge of the game than these analyst@@Bob_MN_Sports_Cards
@@Bob_MN_Sports_Cards yeah i know your retarted 😂😂
There's a reason why the Giants are 37-77-1 since 2017 (2nd worst).
im glad Dan didnt say jayden daniels was a favorite for ROTY, thats reassurance that he will be
To think the Giants said “we offered Saquon over $10mil and he said no so we paid Daniel Jones $40…”. Saquon got into an online snafu with Tiki Barber so we’ll have Tiki announce the Giants pick. I think the Giants are a best Organization to football
Holy cow giants fans coping straight up 😂😂😂
No the Giants didn't make a mistake.
The Giants front office is awful.
yeah they made a good pick but was it what they needed most.like every year they patchwork up OL with free agents.five OL were picked in 1st rd.doesnt matter gettin best qb,wr or rb in draft without monster grizz around him
I guess the questions are #1 - can these rookie WR’s make any QB look good? Or… #2 - can any of these rookie QB’s make any WR look good?
Bruh in what world is JJ a top 10 pick!? Every year they over hype guys.
This one. 😈
As a vikings fan I'm both extremely glad they skipped JJ given he was my QB3 after caleb and drake, AND I think it was the right decision for their team.
I can't watch him play another snap in blue.
true fan right here, only support them when they're good
Foxworthe speaking wisdom it’s good too here
Nooo lol he’s was not worth the 6th pick they avoided what they did with mr jones im proud of my giants 😂
Man why have Dan on here if he’s arguably the worse qb of all time
and yet you prolly didnt even make the cut for a high school football team. #irony
Bills are the biggest disappointment in this draft so far.
them all the Falcons
Giants aiming for Arch Manning in 2026 🤣
Don’t laugh, this is my fever dream 😂
Daboll and Schoen need a player to come in and help this year, not sit behind jones for a year or 2, by then they will be gone if they havent found success. i love the Nabers pick.
I'm a Giants fan and a Michigan fan. As much as I would love JJ to be a Giant. It could ruin his career. And the fact is JJ went 10th wasn't even the next QB taken. And if the Giants drafted him Nabers would have gone in the next 2 picks.
Would you rather have Dan orlovksy in his one game prime or DJ in his prime trick question.
Yes but then again they aren’t ready to support him. Minnesota is primed and ready to give JJ a good start to his career.
Jj and penix will be the o Lu qb taken that have great careers. The first three will be busy with Williams having just a alright career.
I can see the headlines “Chiefs to the Super Bowl worthy with 2tds and 120 yds on 5 rec
12:16 so many people don’t know the chiefs are actually in MO lol
I don't believe the Giants think Daniel Jones is the answer. I also believe they felt neither is McCarthy. It was Maye or bust for them, and they couldn't get him. Got the best player available at a position of need. I have no complaints.
good thinking .. might be right !!
Yeah let’s skip whatever Dan Orlovsky has to say about this topic. Giants couldn’t pass on Nabers period.
Penix Jr was the Only quarterback in this draft that looks like an NFL quarterback
Between the Falcons & Giants, i’m so curious how Justin Fields ended up traded for a 6 rd to be a backup.
