Not really. Jailin hyatt and wandale will be fine for a new QB to create chemistry and start the rebuilding journey. Giants made a huge mistake because now we have to wait another year before they can begin progressing/building from the bottom up.
Qbs will make WRs not the other way around. If you want your team to start getting better than you need a new QB.

If they can get avg line play, with the wrs they got now (better than 22’), I think he can replicate 2022 success at the bare minimum.

Gotta take all of this with a grain of salt. On every show, not just Speak. I've seen every single one of these talking heads miss BADLY on many topics. Drafts, who's going to win this Sunday, who's going to win the playoffs, who's going to win the SB. It wasn't that long ago Joy was raving about Kenny Pickett and saying her Steelers made a terrific choice. Bottom line - it's all just opinion and theirs aren't any better than yours or mine. We all hit a few and miss a lot more than not. These folks just get paid well to do it!

Waller will probably retire but wandell Robinson is that guy. They had a historical bad Oline last year. If that improves 10 percent they can win 9 games again. People mistakenly think Barkely was the whole team. That is false. That one year with DJ is the only time Barkley sniffed the playoffs

You have to start somewhere. Now their WR corp is better with a solid 3 for the next 3-4 years. One step closer to a good team.

the guy who said the Giants offense was essentially the same as 2 yrs ago is wrong. In 2022, all the Giants had was Barkley. Yes, Barkley is gone, but 2 yrs ago the Giants were trotting out practice squad guys and UDFAs at WR. Robinson was injured, Toney was in outer space, and Golladay in terminal decline. This year they will have a true WR1 - Nabers, Hyatt, and Robinson. The O-line, if not truly "fixed" should be better than 2 yrs ago and while Barkley is gone, Singletary is by no means a poor RB. Bellinger, entering his 3d season vs. 2022, his rookie year. QBs come and go. No one knows at this point what QB opportunities will appear next season. Whether draft, trade, or Free Agencey.
Darius Slayton was the Giants best separator(surprisingly good relative to the rest of the leagues WRs according to PFF). Now they've got two guys for DJ to throw to. Jones needs to learn when to take risks and quickly. He throws the open guy, but he takes forever to do it. Drew Locke looked like an NFL QB against the 49ers. If Nabers doesnt have a huge game or two in the first 8 games they ought to see what Locke looks like

Can you guys not get some guys on the show that actually have talking points beside, “Jones isn’t good”. Talk about why the guy struggles in the games he played last year. The kid had injuries on the OL, a rookie center, Evan Neal who hasn’t panned out. 3# 3 receivers. Y’all are expecting Jones to make “wine out of rock” so she says. You guys don’t understand how that it takes all 11 guys even when some of you played in the NFL. The QB isn’t the problem, it’s the OL and was receivers if Nabers works out.
I think the problem is if they did want to get to that 3rd spot they would have paid a ransom. And giving away draft capital for the future doesn’t help the roster situation. Which y’all say is barren. Putting a young qb in an offense with limit to no talent will yield the same results as Daniel jones playing. At least they got a cornerstone WR until they get a qb they want.

I like riding with Jones for now, you can’t force QB picks, you have to be sure he’s the right guy if you take him high in the draft.
Malik Nabers was fantastic pick, could be their best receiver since OBJ and Victor Cruz, arguably far surpassing both of those guys. They just drafted Theo Johnson at TE who, if he lives up to his measurables, could end up being one of the top tight ends in football. He's an athletic freak. Malik Nabers is a sure thing. JJ McCarthy is not. If we could've gotten Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels, we would've. The Patriots were not going to move off #3, they wanted their franchise QB. It was a smoke screen.
If the Giants had taken a QB, people like Joy would be saying "But he's got no one to throw the ball to. They have no weapons.".
These people are clueless. This year we have a completely new oline and oline coach. Hopefully they do better blocking than last year. Skill position wise we have Nabers X, Hyatt z, and Wandale as the y, then Theo/belli as serviceable te’s? I would say this is a competent and competitive group. Let’s not forget DJ had one of the best deep balls in the league (22’ season), albeit he did go downfield much (mostly due to having to scramble immediately after the snap). If Dj gets more time to make a couple reads this year he’s got the weapons to win.
i think the Giants made the right move. Build the team around the QB first. You just paid Jones so you have to just deal with him for now. Make sure a squad is in place for when youre in position to take a QB you want instead of just what you can get. Maybe Jones can take another step with a reliable WR and if he cant then next year you know what you need to do.

I love how this panel is literally ignoring the glaring example of sending a rookie QB to a horrid situation. Look at Bryce Young. He went to no man's land. Who was he throwing to and what line was he sitting behind. And at this point who's handing the ball to. No one's trying to say the Giants are a serious team right now. Let them rebuild. And stop saying the rebuild starts with the QB. We've seen some teams get their QB and then BS their way to the SB even tho the roster was kinda lopsided in some places. I can almost guarantee you that even though the giants got arguably the best WR in the draft, this lot will still find something to hate on them for. They won’t actually give the giants credit for snagging a top shelf receiver but instead will probably only talk about how they “ should’ve gone in another direction” or how choosing nabers was still somehow, some way the wrong pick. Especially Joy, and shady. They two just be pure hating. They never give the giants credits for anything but instead drag them for everything. The giants can only ever do wrong in their eyes.
I guarantee you.
Take it as someone who cannot stand DJ...it was the right choice. If we were wrong, its DJ 2.0. if Malik is like that, then the best case scenario is that we dont waste one to two years of his career looking for that guy.

When we look back in a few years to see JJ/Penix turn out to be good QBs the Giants will have to admit a mistake was made. Giants made some good moves and Jones is not nearly as bad they state. Jones had no o line. worst i've ever seen.
