    I love this mock exercise LOL. Shows how terrible shit goes when you aim for need, and how you greatly risk lowering your teams overall talent level by chasing need.

      The well run teams go best player available as much as possible. Very rarely do they need to drsft for need and if you do its not in the first round usually. Its a flyer on a later round pick like sneed. If it works out great, but welk run teams don't risk first round picks on need if a obviously better player is available. Its bad draft srategey and yet so mnay teams still do it. Baffling

    Great pick for the falcons on latu. He is the best for this team and imo best edge rusher in this draft. I would like to say y'all and many others really need to quit forgetting Dee Alford at cb for the falcons. He is our 2nd best cb and is very good. He had y finished 70+ on pff for a season atleast once it twice now.

      Negative, it is a developmental need but a lack of it? That's not necessarily true. CB & WR are existing needs, we run 3 WR sets and always have 5 to 6 players on the field to play on the secondary. Mans just committed to the PFF defined need; it's outdated.

    • @Thomas-mp5tg
      @Thomas-mp5tg 2 месяца назад

      WR is definitely not an existing need when we have Chase and Tee this year. In addition to Gesicki and developing guys like Yoshi and Charlie Jones. CB is more of a need but OL is still our biggest weakness, and we can add depth, athleticism, and future proof our line for cheap with this tackle class. @@jameskirkland3733

    What MIA depth chart are you guys reading? The likely current starters are
    OL: LT Armstead, LG Wynn, C Brewer, RG Driscoll and RT Jackson.
    DL: DE Gallimore, NT Tart and DE Sieler
    Dolphins needs are LT to replace Armstead next season, OLB/Edge to sub in for and then rotate with the injured Phillips and Chubb, WR3 to keep secondaries honest against Hill and Waddle, and SS to round out the strong nickel formations. There are no other holes, just opportunities to upgrade or develop future talent.
    The ongoing rumors of interest in Risner suggests the Dolphins want to upgrade over Wynn at LG. I suspect drafting a LT and starting him at LG this season may be Plan A and Risner is plan B. Most of the speculation concerning RG is generated because Hunt played the position. However, I suspect Grier signed Driscoll to play RG, which he did rather well for the Eagles. Grier has never drafted an OG in the first round and I doubt he starts now. On your draft board, Latham would fit.
    MIA has signed a full camp roster of free agent DL so DC Weaver can replicate the Ravens DL by committee. Doubt the Dolphins will draft here unless an elite prospect falls and is BPA at 21. On your draft board, Newton could qualify depending on how Grier views Latham.

I’d say he uses Best Pick Available and finds “his” guys wherever he feels he can take them regardless of what others say in terms of value. Drafting LB and RB in the 1st? Lions have had back to back drafts as good as anyone in the league. Hell find his guys to fill the holes for the roster.

    For Cincinnati, our biggest need is TE and DL at 18. And we can get a decent DL in the second round. Bowers is the only tight end worth drafting in the first round, so it would make sense for them to trade up to get Bowers. And to be honest, for the offensive line, we have 4 Super Bowl Winning offensive lineman. They will be comfortable taking offensive linemen in the third or fourth round.. Who Dey 💯💯

  • @ezrabridger5488
    @ezrabridger5488 2 месяца назад

    Disagree with pick 5. Chargers biggest need is OL. Harbaugh made it clear you have to win in the trenches to win championships. Winning at the line cements the run game, opens up WRs int he secondary and you can control the clock. Chargers need to bolster the OL, especially when other teams in the West bolstered their DLs. So WR is not necessary at 5. Either draft Alt (best choice to play along Slater) or trade down to the Vikings for 11 & 23 to get a OL & DL. You can p/u a WR1 in the 3rd through 5th this year.

  • @jameskirkland3733
    @jameskirkland3733 2 месяца назад +2

    Bengals picking BPA for sure, wont be DI because of the need for a true NT. TE is a no, they're used as gadgets and checkdowns/block releases. OL is covered from a starter perspective outside of LG but he'd need to be a STUD, that's not going to be available in this class. No Boyd and potentially trading Tee; no CB opposite of CTB (D.J. doesn't count) plus an aging Hilton in the nickel. Turner (He's a true game wrecker) or Wiggins are the only other acceptable picks here. 2nd round HAS to be a slot-type receiver or NT; Pearsall, Polk/Ruke, Jenkins

    The Bills need downfield receiving talent. Just watch the Chiefs @ Bills playoff game from this past postseason again and all those drops. Bills have 11 picks and few needs. Bills need to make those downfield catches. Package the picks and move up to draft a Brian Thomas Jr big fast boundary receiver who can take over for Diggs as the #1 in a year or 2. I don't believe he will be here til retirement. Diggs last 3 playoff performances have been poor. He is in the biggest td dought in his career. Can't believe you guys just passed on making a bigtime pick for us. Bills have 2-4ths, 3-5ths an# 3-6th rounders. What if the league implemented a penalty box style punishment for personal fouls? What if the punishment for a hip drop tackle was that player had to sit out the rest of that drive? I feel like its a draconian enough punishment and puts that drive on that player's shoulders of the drive results in a negative outcome for his team (should have the same emotional effect as an offensive player turning the ball over)

    • @pipinghotarbys3079

      @pipinghotarbys3079 I'm thinking that it would be that player sits out and his team substitutes a back up in his place. So not to punish the team as much the player. The penalized player would be able to return on the next defensive series. If that player received a 2nd personal foul, they'd be ejected

      @ChristianSReitz 2 месяца назад +1

      @pipinghotarbys3079 I mean, I like the idea bc it's harsh on the player but allows the team to attempt to redeem him. I think the point in having a harsh punishment for the infraction is to incentivize the players to avoid the hip drop. As time goes on, you'll see it less but it's going to take time to eliminate the play as players get used to it....and it saves them money as opposed to big fines. I also think 15 yards is a little much. I'd change the yard penalty to 10 yards from the spot of the foul

    Why are you assuming you know how good Jarrett Stidham is? Based on four games? That's not enough to know, especially for starts at the end of the season when the guy had been on the bench all year. Payton said when he signed him that he saw him as a QB trending towards being a starter. He also has a skill set that is similar to the one Brees had. Speaking of Brees, he got 27 games before he turned the corner. Before that he was just another guy. Aikman got 26...& he sucked before that. When asking who Payton had won with that was "worse than Stidham"...consider that he was the OC who took Kerry Collins & rode him to a Super Bowl appearance for the Giants. Collins was crap, a 1st round bust who had 2 seasons out of 5 below 50% comp rate....basically Tim Tebow territory. As for Bo Nix...there are major differences between his game & what Payton does, starting with the fact that just like Russell Wilson, he's throwing a very high percentage of passes behind the LOS, something that drove Payton crazy.
    Payton says he won't draft a first round QB unless he falls in love with one, & Bo Nix, a guy who had to play 6 years in college to get ready for the NFL, does not look like a guy he's going to do that with. Nix was very average until he planted himself in a high powered offense surrounded by NFL talent & behind an OL that kept him almost pressure free. Had he come out 2 years ago, it's likely he goes undrafted. Give me DT Johnny Newton at 12 for Denver or one of the big OT prospects like Amarius Mims, maybe Bowers if he drops. We need to build the roster before adding a rookie QB. Personally I would trade down a few spots & pick up a #2 pick in the deal.

    My hot take for this year's draft is that all the mocks are over-valuing Wide Receivers, since the class is seen as deep and teams picking in the top ten will be more likely to take positions with more scarcity and wait till the second round for a receiver. I think it is completely possible that Nabers and Odunze fall out of the top ten.

      @@nicknova703 okay but even if they need a WR, the class is so deep that there are definite starters in the second and third rounds. Odds are that someone other than the top three will have a better first four seasons than Marvin Harrison, just because of the sheer numbers of talented receivers at the position. Draft experts are calling it a "historically" deep WR class. Isn't the moneybag move to wait in a deep class and get something with more scarcity early?

      He's a great contested catcher... which is perfect because he struggles to stay open even against average college level CBs (his highlights would be the lowlights of some of the players in this years draft and that's the truth)... that's also not a good problem to have and can easily end up translating poorly at the NFL level (how many times have we heard about a WR that just can't get open but was hyped as a first round pick).
      Don't get me wrong I like him too, personality wise he's top tier, and if you need a physical WR he's one of the best for his size/measurements but there is actually zero chance he's the "BEST" WR this draft lol, not when you have just about every WR type imaginable all with elite traits for how they play.
