- More Duels runs are incoming! The mode might not be for everybody (collection requirements are tough), but it's still stupidly fun to watch. This run is a successful small spell Mozaki run powered by Rhonin's Scrying Orb, Emerald Goggles, and Archmage Staff!

This mode is almost exactly what I wanted. Leaning into the over the top big effects. Just wish you drafter a deck rather than building out of your collection. Has the same problem of it being very expensive to have a collection
I agree that drafting would be a little more fun than straight up building. However, I dont think that building your deck will be too expensive: you only need 1 copy of each card, and there are lots of good cheap cards to put in- for example Regis' deck didnt have too many crazy legendaries, and some of the ones he did have he didnt even really need!
I do think that the "best decks" will soon be discovered though, and you'll get used to seeing a lot of people with the exact same deck, so drafting could make it more fun.
This mode allows players to get a little more value out of their wild cards as the Duel season rotates various wild sets out and in. I feel like another full deck drafting would be too similar to Arena mode.
@@mcspanky893 But Arena mode is crap so this replacing Arena and allowing you to draft a deck would be much more casual friendly, for a company which is desperate to get people back into playing hearthstone they focus far to much on there players who buy packs.
@@littlej211 a little late to the discussion but... I've been playing duels a bit lately and, as I missed the darkmoon xpac, I can't use most treasures. Also dusted most of my legendaries from expansions past, in order to be able to build current decks.
I wish I could play this more, but I feel pushed out by the steep requirements. It's not like I'm buying old boosters when I wanna also have standard decks

This game mode seems like it could honestly become the new primary game mode. It has all the fun of Hearthstone- the randomness, the craziness, the OP plays, etc. but without all the repetitiveness of standard, and without the cost of arena.
The randomness of it makes you want to play "one more game" just to get an OP treasure and build going- kinda like how in battlegrounds you often want to play again to see if you can get a sick build.
Not to mention all the potential unlock-able treasures and hero powers, which will make sure there is a lot of new stuff to try and play against!
If Blizz pays good attention to this mode and keeps it balanced and updated, I could see it really blossoming!

How do the hero powers interact with Genn or Baku? I know the card buckets afterwards would interfere with that strategy but do they actually work in the first place?

There's so much content from so many creators that comes out around expansions and I end up inevitably cutting down on how much I watch during this time typically, honestly. Is duels live or will it come out with the expansion?
It probably won't be open to the public before the expansion goes live, but if you do the $80 pre-order, you get early access
its live now early access, so you have to preorder so $40 or $80
it is available to everyone november 12th. Expansion releases november 17th.
Early access only if you pre-order or get a drop from a stream (don't know when those drops will be available)

I think you get a treasure more often when you're winning to make it more crazy at higher streaks
I personally hate that this mode is wild...so every standard player who has to pay every expansion to stay competitive now has no chance vs the wild players who just need to craft one deck and a few cards every expansion to have success

Mozaki feels like a weaker character in comparison to to the other heros. But it also seems more consistently good.

@@Noles4life77 I mean I did pretty well with a pure discolock deck, what deck did you use?
@@owenz773 I tried discolock, maybe I was just unlucky with not enough games just felt like paladin and warrior crushed it. Hero power is almost counter interactive with the deck itself. Once your out of disco cards you’re basically just cycling top decks. I’ll have to give it another try

Theres also an optional pay mode like arena with 150 gold, but u can play it casually as much as u want.

Give it a month or 2 and this mode gonna be pretty meh just like the rest of the game. I convince myself to play every day, thinking I'll grind for couple hours. 3 games max and I've had my fix.
I don't like how duels require for you to have a good collection
The idea is to re-gamble more money for dust to recraft the same legendaries you dusted to have a standard collection. 'Couse money

There's no draft in this mode. Do you mean the deckbuilding? (I didn't edit this).
I don't include the deckbuilding process for standard videos. I think that will remain the same here. Maybe on the first day it's more interesting, but in a month, decks will be more plug and play I think.

@@RegisKillbin Yes! Sorry I do mean the deck building. I only ask on these types of videos because they aren't typical decks. They are unique like how Arena is. Pretty much Arena, Some brawls, and now this mode. It would be nice to see the process. Regular videos is different.
Its fun to watch what the thought process is when you have to make these decks. Which these decks will be remade each run. Its not a huge deal, but I would definitely love it for these if the deckbuilding portion was included!
I guess what I mean is that, this mode / arena / some brawls require you to deckbuild, rather than just import a deck type thing. If you were making a solely unique deck for Ranked / Wild, it would be nice to see how you decided to build the deck. (like if its a totally unique deck creation rather than just a 1-2 card variant of an existing deck)

@@thecry4 I might be crazy here, but I feel like the deckbuilding is way less interesting than Standard. There are just fewer cards, no duplicates, fewer expansions, fewer themes, and less meta adaptability. I think I'd be more inclined for Standard Deckbuilding than this honestly.

It is an entirely new way to make a deck (saturate with legendaries or go with synergies). It would be cool to get your perspective is all.

The mode is fun, but uninspired. Battlegrounds brought something new to the game that we never saw before. This feels like a thrown together idea that I've already experienced.
@@simplyrin210 I completely disagree. I still play it every day. Plus, I believe it is the most popular mode right now.
The Rogue Hero power is trash, all the other Hero’s get upgrades on their Hero Power’s and all Rogue gets is “Combo: Equip a 2/2 weapon” what a joke, Mage gets to summon Wyrms almost for free and Priest gets to heal 3 health and get a draw!!! Wtf is this balancing???
Dont worry theres still 2 other hero powers, nobody will probably pick that one

Rogue is definitely the worst class in the format right now but lots of balance will change and new tools will be released before the the game is released.
true but don't forget you have low hp, so the aggro rogue deck with that 4/2 weapon, charge pirate and spells to deal face damage could work?
look I'm not sayin it's perfectly balanced, but distinct class strengths and weaknesses make for a more interesting game. Rogue doesn't have a great hero power, so she lacks consistency, but maybe Blizzard wants her to have a lot of high-roll potential in terms of cards. Maybe they wanted playing rogue to be a gamble. That would be pretty in flavor for the class. We'll have to see how the meta turns out.
i feel like im the only one who doesn't like duels.
Is there a rule about how many legendaries you can build in the first draft of your deck? If not, I honestly think blizzard should consider like 1-2 legendary caps for it since otherwise you can just add the full highlander package every game and be careful with drafts afterwards (though a couple of copies aren't that bad)
