I would love a silent bike...I liked riding but always found it such a heavenly relief to reach my destination and switch off the noise of my motorcycle engine.
if you knew harleys history... you'd know that they constantly innovate... then they toss the innovations in the trash because they are scared the leather daddies won't buy it. They built a v4 with Porsche in the 70s FFS.. (as well as a v6) Put it on a bike with a hidden radiator and gas tank so it looked air cooled. It was awesome. Imagine how that could have competed with the GL or VFR/Magna/VMax after 20 years of refinement.
@@leftcoaster67 If harley had pushed vrod motors into dynas and not way overcharged for them.... or let Erik Buell use those in the XB bikes... Harley would be a whole different company right now. IIRC Porsche also worked on those motors too...
I look at the electric vehicle market kinda like the cell phone market in early 2000s and late 90s. At first. Expensive and only a few had em. Then they only got cheaper and more powerful. Than one day. Bam!.Everybody has a cell phone now. Thats how i see the electric vehicle market. Give it a decade. We all will have one. Honestly harleys doing great at it too. All their electric bikes are nice. Honestly. That big livewire motorcycle. Harley sells me one for around 12. Ill park it ride next to my two softtails. Be my daily rider.
Fun review. I currently have a Zero FXE in Paris, France. It's also insanely quick as it's much lighter with huge torque. But I'll definitely test ride this bike, it looks a blast. I'm not sure how it would handle on real twisties, and whether those tires would grip in the wet or more extreme lean angles. But I guess that's not what it's intended for. I also do a lot of city riding and filtering between two tight lanes of cars. It would probably be doable but it looks a bit wider and bulkier than my current zero. Anyway, ride safe and thanks for the content!
How would you describe your foot placement/rider position while you rode it? I test drove the Livewire One and really didn’t like the rear foot placement combined with having to stretch out towards the handles… I guessed I’ve gotten used to my sportster s with mid controls. Thank you for filming the test ride and the feedback!
I used to live on them roads back in the day delivering pizzas around the Seminole Towne Center area. I can't go a month without having a dream I'm trying to deliver a pizza but can't find the address.
So even going by HD's optimistic claims you get a bike that is about the same comfort level as a 600 CBR Honda, has way less range, is less powerful and slower, and costs at least six thousand more. Why aren't these flying out of the showroom?
@@markanderson5077 Yes, according to every review I can find with performance stats the electric bike has less HP, less range and slower 0-60. Only thing I didn't check was top end. That's compared to a CBR 600 which I picked because when I test rode an electric bike it felt like about that type/style bike. I'll admit I've never ridden a Live Wire but I have ridden a Zero. It felt like a small sport bike, just not quite as good and way more expensive.
@Brett LaGrange I don't normally reply to people that use personal insults on the internet. But I looked at the time recorded by reputable motorcycle magazines/websites. It's not a huge difference but the HD is slightly slower. No I didn't mention maintenance, but since you did what is the proven hour life of the battery? At what rate does it degrade over time and what is the replacement cost?
@@valis992000since the bike cost 16k and batteries are usually 40 to 50 percent of the cost of an electric car, is say replacement is about 6 to 9 grand
Pretty disappointed in this test ride video. All the rider did you was demonstrate how fast the bike will accelerate If you were going to actually buy this bike you would want to see and hear so much more about the bike and its capabilities
The bike has a 70 mile hwy distance before it dies on you... pathetic! 😂 This thing only serves one purpose, and that's a city commuter. That is by default an affront to the spirit of Harley Davidson.
perfect for manhattan commuting with constant dense traffic. No clutch hand fatigue.

Harley and innovation. Two words you'd never thought you'd hear together.

@@maguslascivious4980 It's funny because I loved the V-Rod, and thought that was really cool. So you've got a point.

Makes you wonder what the ‘2006 iPhone’ of EV motos will be
After your review, I could see myself owning this in addition to my ICE bike. The inner city riding and smooth ride comment caught my attention.
Awesome! Thanks for watching and glad it helped you
inner city... try a surron instead.

Doing curves on the weekends for me. Ninja. Dig it.
Love the video Justin. Keep it coming. Also nice audio quality 👌🏼👌🏼

It’s pretty similar. The Del Mar has a more upright position. But it’s not like Harley where the controls are mid forward or forward controls.

Yeah boiii!!! This is came out great.

i wanna know about real life range on the highway at 75 mph
Very nice video, makes me want one even more 💪😎🤙
Thanks! If I was in the market I would def get one for around town
The one or the Del Mar
