I'm about to undertake pulling the engine and trans from my '86 as part of a major refresh. Your videos continue to be a huge help! Keep it going man, your project is amazing and it's really helped me get motivated!
@@NotoriousEgg89 pulling the engine and trans turns out to not be a particularly difficult affair; two friends came to help and it got done over beers with a minimum of struggle. That said, I had already removed everything but the crank pulley and the cam covers first so it was easier that way. 1 hoist, aransmission jack, and some heavy duty straps and it was just a matter of patience.
Hey mate, love this project. Can’t wait for the next update! Will start my own soon on an XJ12 L sedan. Any idea what power you are expecting with the new engine with the Jenvey throttle bodies?
Binged the Jag videos. Should have peaked ahead. Two years without an update? Hope you got all you wanted out of the car ad are off cruising Alaska and having a blast.
@@RoHo.3 thanks for watching man! I still have the car! I have some personal projects I’ve been working on that have been taking all my time and money haha. I know I need to take the cover off the jag and start making more videos… soon!
Hey Julian. I also have an XJ-S (1979 model) as a project car and I am wanting to remove the smog (air) pump from the car and run it without it. Any advice on where I could find the information to do this?
Here’s a decent write up on it foreverjaguar.com/f/smog-blogdelete When I did it, my car had a separate pulley and belt, so the removal was pretty easy. Tapping the plugs was pretty easy.

@@JulianGriggs front pipes being fitted on tues then I can take it to have the rest of the exhaust made . I think in a week or so I should have it done
Hi Julian I’ve just uploaded video of my x pipe exhaust . I used tt extractor front pipes which was a mistake as makes a lot of rasping and throaty so changing that but here’s the video as it is now 😊
Awesome! I’m sure the video doesn’t do it justice… I’m still in the middle of my 5.5L V12 build. Parts are taking forever to arrive! I’m glad you’re enjoying your car!
@@JulianGriggs wonder what’s causing the delay on your parts ? Yeah I love the sound when I drive I can get some real high pitch sound under load . I keep going for a drive in it 😬 . Got some new wheels for it . Think a manual conversion might be a good idea but I don’t want a heavy clutch so I’ll look at best options . Maybe a tremec

According to the federal HESCHLAVVO law, it is already forbidden in Switzerland to drive combustion engines on mountain passes from 2025. In France, the SCHLABOUBVE regulates that fossil vehicles that produce fine dust are prohibited in all cities from 2025. The BABVVO in Germany will exhaust gas pollution from 2027 and that is what will happen in entire EU also bann of all tires and brakes because of fine dust!!!

Are the front valances with the indicators bolted or spot welded on?
Hey Mate,
Have you tried Rob Beere racing in the UK for conrods. They do alot of performance parts for V12 Jaguars.
I have! I don’t think they carry V12 connecting rods tho unfortunately…
