    The V12 IS the value of that car! Without it the car is worthless!

      that v12 probably isnt as fast as the v8 they put in it , if it was a 6 liter v12 it would be worth it

      Everyone hates on these v12s.. its only real flaw is the engine management..

      The V12 if maintained correctly is a masterpiece, turbine smooth and a joy to use. Putting that boat anchor in there will ruin it and devalue it.

    I learned your tip about putting fasteners (nuts, bolts, etc.) back in place from a tip I read many years ago. I do this routinely with everything I take apart. It certainly helps when projects sit for gaps of time between work. Nice project.

    "We will just wait until tomorrow's cold and windy weather." Haha. That reminds me that I need to replace the rotors on both of my daily drivers. However, I'm waiting for the weather to get colder first. I live in AZ...we're a little behind the cold spell.
    It's crazy how many automatics don't have drain plugs in the pan. At one shop I worked at in the past, when servicing a trans, we would drill an 1/8 in hole in every pan. It's a little slow to drain, but it gets the job done. Debur both sides of the hole after the pan is off, and finish by installing a rivet. Very few leaked.

      BTW, I just posted another 4L60E video. This one is about the Torque Signal oil pressure. During the video, I mention the MAF (Yes, the Mass Airflow sensor). It has an impact on the 4L60E. It can cause transmission problems, and even clutch failure.....even on a newly rebuilt unit. Thought you might want to check out this video out. In the next video, I'll be addressing problems with it. Take care.

    Kind of hurts to see the V12 removed. I understand that they are a pain to sync carbs etc but that motor is iconic. Good old V8s are tough as nails though. A buddy of mine in England stuffed a small block V8 in his MG. We drove around little country roads with it - what a blast. You should stuff a Marantz receiver in the dash somewhere, go ahead, I dare you 😉

      The only US-spec V12 Jaguars that had Carbs were the E-types and series 1 XJ12's. The series two and up XJ12's and all XJ-S's had FI.

    Hello I have a 1984 XJS Jaguar. Which I am doing a swap with a LS3 6.2 motor. On the driver side my manifolds are hitting on my frame wheel and steering shaft. What type of swap exhaust manifold do you use on your Jaguar swaps to avoid this problem.

    They start at the top, you must at least keep them original! Even if you replaced the motor with another V12, a true Jaguar Enthusiast would have bought it. But if it's a numbers matching block, never ever take it out of the car unless you're going to have it completely rebuilt🎉

    Listening to you guys bitch and moan has made my morning! I went through the exact same thing. The transmission mount alone made me almost shoot myself. But the v12 is worth it, straight piped that thing screams and pops like a singing angel. Not as fast but sooooo worth it.

    Poor car, you ripped its heart out! That v12 is a fantastic engine, turbine smooth a real highway machine. You just took the legend away from a legend…. When people can’t fix something they just dump an LS in it 😂💀

      I agree, but if I was to put an ls in there, it only would be so the v12 didn't get wore out. Basicly to preserve the v12. I'd then rebuild the v12 for prosperity and replace it if I ever sold it.

      @@liamhollin8265 the v12 is actually a very strong engine mechanically, I had a 1989 Daimler double six that I daily drove for two years without a single problem. The wiring can be troublesome as it degrades from the heat cycles but once it’s sorted, you’re good to go!

      @@AnythingGasoline your not wrong, but they are very limited in numbers, with only 150,000 units ever produced. Hopefully at some point, some one will start a continuation on the manufactoring. I'd love one

    Such a waste of time and effort, someone should have called the ASPCA. Once the LS motor is in and the V12 is out, the car is worthless and impossible to sell. Even worse, the car will be off balance and handle poorly. You should have bought an IROC instead.

      It might be considered worthless in the UK, but the fact is, for better or worse, selling a swapped XJ-S in the US is easier. Let's face it, the pool of potential buyers that would be *willing* and *able* to risk the potentially *massive* repair bills is not large. Here the nearest specialist could be hundreds, if not 1000 miles away. If you have the money to throw around, good for you. If you live in the UK, where would you take your '63 Studebaker Hawk GT for repair?

    The V12 Jaguar engine is iconic and potentially very powerful. They are also very very tough if not overheated. Why would you pull out a V12 and put vastly inferior ohv V8 in it;s place? It would cost less to fix the V12 than to replace it unless truly trashed. It always seems to me that north americans are terrified of the Jag v12 and will go to any lengths to remove it rather than fix it and I see so many with horrible V8 conversions. . The v12 is actually pretty straight forward and not difficult to work on.

      Honestly though, the v12 is overweight and underpowered. It is overly complicated and prone to failure. Parts are also hard to come by in North America and the aftermarket is nearly nonexistant for them. The LS platform on the otherhand is very capable and parts are plentiful. There is a rich aftermarket and it offers a significant weight savings over the boat anchor of a v12. There's a reason Jag dumped the v12, and it isn't because it was iconic.

      Must be why the V12 sedan was the fastest in the world in the late sixties then eh. This is an old engine now but has massive and easy tuning potential whihc is why aussies and new zealanders throw away their V8's and fit hot V12's @@LSDale
