- Listen to Dan Rix share his powerful conversion story and his incredible experience and passion for the gospel.
After attending seminary with friends in high school Dan began taking a deeper dive into the scriptures and really enjoyed and loved the people.
One day he got home and his mom laid down a bunch of 'anti-mormon literature' in front of him and he felt deceived and betrayed by those he was trusting and becoming friends with.
After this experience he stopped going to seminary and devoted himself to taking down the Church and proving them wrong.
After getting to know a girl who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints he invited her to his church.
After a special experience Dan continued to grow his relationship with God.
After reading the Book of Mormon, going to church and meeting with the missionaries Dan knelt down and truly prayed to God, the source of truth, what he needed to do and he got his answer.
It's true.

I feel like I’m losing my testimony at times as our church is so attacked nowadays. So hearing your story is very uplifting. Thank you so much.
Cameron, have you read the new church history series called Saints? history.churchofjesuschrist.org/saints?lang=eng&cid=rdb_v_saints_eng
Come follow me will help if you're struggling. Come follow me sealed my testimony of the church. God bless ❤️
I think most people go through that. I found that if I don't deliberately block all the lies and garbage, it can weasel its way into my heart. That's the Adversary's plan, a tiny bit at a time. I went back to the things that led me to baptism (at age 58) and basically re-converted myself. I have no idea if this will help you. I pray it does - or that something does. The main thing is don't give up on what you know to be true. May God send the Holy Spirit to bear witness to your heart.
If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. -John 15:18
Dont follow the world, follow the Spirit! We will always be attacked till the end. Get back to the basic, pray, read, go to church, press forward..
I am feeling the Spirit VERY powerfully as I listen to your story, and it's testifying to me again that it's all true. Thank you!
Everybody tells their own conversion story. It's very powerful and motivateing. My whole family was murdered in front of me as an 8 year old boy. I've gone through 4 divorces. Were not here to think less about what happens to us. It's all about getting through life in one piece. Be grateful that your still alive and greatly blessed by your connection to your Heavenly Father.
I'm so sorry. You are strong, stay true.
@@sleepingwithcats5121 thank you. I really appreciate the compliment. Hugs.
Beautiful, it is hard nowdays. But it's like a small part of me gives me joy just in watching this. And I feel like I need God, because I have believed. Though I need so much to learn.
I joined the Mormon church 2 years ago but my heart was not converted unti a couple weeks ago.
This experience and testimony brought me to tears. I felt the spirit so strongly. I know that the gospel is true and so much more!
We love you dear brother!! You should do a podcast or some channel that debunks all the anti LDS Church teachings... I guarantee YOU were sent here to change hearts of mankind. May God bless you always.
I ask god if church was true ,he gave me sign ,seconds after my front door opened I knew he is there
This testimony is from the HEART & SOUL of this gentleman. He obviously didn't have an EASY road to the truth, but a SURE way because through God, ALL things are possible 🤍🕊
through business and accusations i left the church. i was the best jack mormon they had. so greatful for your thoughts
This is a really powerful message to those who are struggling with faith. This is the one true church. Never let anyone or anything tell you differently.
@@wellsaidgoodheadfred9843 Quite the opposite, I mean successfully accepting the One True Church upon the face of the Earth.
What an amazing testimony i could felt the Spirit testifying the truthfulness of the Gospel thanks brother ......love from the Saints of the Philippines....
This is an incredible story, and again I love that Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon are mentioned! Thank you for sharing your testimony, I appreciate this channel so much.
Many thanks for sharing your conversion story. Sounds like you had a real wrestle and struggle spiritually speaking within. So glad the Lord touched your mind and heart so you could experience his truth through the Holy Ghost. God bless you and all your loved ones. 😊🙏
The enemy will always attack the lords church cause he knows what the lords church bring’s to somebody’s life and family’s life’s true happiness
This is true
You are calling everyone who questions their experience in the church AN ENEMY. AN ENEMY. Do you realize there are members and exmembers who have experienced abuse so horrific by leaders within the church, that due to the trauma, they can't even hold down jobs? There are very real reasons people leave the church, but it doesn't make them an enemy. Yes, I know people are imperfect, but it goes much, much deeper. If you are willing to cast aside the least of these because they are THE ENEMY, and have a different experience from you, then you are part of the problem.
No one said that anyone who questions is an enemy. Show me where that was said?
@@alananat6628 hello. it's truly disheartening that some members experience such things in the church. however, i think joseph was referring to satan with the word "enemy", not those who have opposing views about the church. That's how I understood it, at least. God bless 🤍
I just love the fact that the opportunity to learn the truth of the gospel is available to all of God’s children and that there are infinite ways to get to that truth. All you need is a desire and a tiny particle of faith. Because just knowing where to find the true church or by simply being a member of the true church is not enough to guarantee acceptance into God’s presence.
Your statement just knowing or simply being a member, is a testimony to me. I found out first hand how true that statement is. After I joined the church, life was wonderful for me. I felt happy all the time. I had a testimony. But what happened, was devastating. It was not intentional, but I stopped growing. I began to return to my old ways. Then started giving in to temptation. Before I knew it I wasn't feeling the Spirit anymore. I wondered in the wilderness for many years. My life fell apart. It was many years before I finally came to the realization that I needed Father in my life. He did not at any time leave me. The Lord did not stop loving me. My life was such that I did not know Him anymore. When I learned what I needed to do, I did it. I asked Him to help me to come back. He was only so happy to bless me. I know now, that He must be the center of my life. My testimony is stronger than it ever was before. I love Father very much. He saved me, again. I know that He loves me. I will remember who I am. I thank Thee, Father.
I LOVE being a member of Gods church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints!
I actually am in young womans and I was writing a talk for Sunday and this helped me feel the spirit
Thank you!!❤❤
Awesome! So glad it helped!

"This is it. I found the true church!" - Dan Rix
Thank you so very much, Bro. Dan Rix!!!! Beautiful story about your conversion, and a rather thorough story, which I appreciate!!! I am a comfort at the age of 45, and I am now 73!!!! I had a well-meaning friend who had me come to her house for lunch, which I thought was the only reason I was going there… But it turns out she wanted to lead me away from the LDS church!!! She was in another Christian church, and invited a friend over, who was a member of her church, and they were showing me the movie, “The Godmakers”, which is against the LDS church!!!!! I felt totally betrayed, and recognized that I needed to leave, so I asked them to stop the movie, and thanked them for lunch, and left! I felt so good that I had the courage to say I was not interested in their movie, recognizing that it was a bad spirit, etc.! So happy that you found the true church!!! Thank you so much for bearing your soul and sharing your whole story and your conversion to the true church!!!!! Love to you and your family…Sis. Gay Michaelis
Dan thank you for sharing your journey with the world. 💙🙏🏼🙏🏽🙏🏿
God bless you and your family, brother!
I needed to hear this. I’ve been struggling with feeling negative towards others. Thank you.
Bobbing up and down along this life in hope of salvation, as opposed to growing and becoming more like Jesus Christ, and that being salvation. It's a no brainer. Well told.
Wow. This is an incredible story. I especially appreciate this since I served my mission in Texas where many people think members of Jesus Christ's church (aka Mormons) are not Christians and are going to hell. Thank you for sharing this beautiful conversion story.
You are AMAZING brother! You chose to follow our Saviour despite the many challenges you encountered. Glad you made a wise choice to seek more truth and baptized. The church of Jesus Christ is the gospel of Happiness, Love and Peace. We are truly blessed! Keep the FAITH brother and only BELIEVE 🥰
Such an excellent story of faith. The manifestations of the Spirit are real. I have experienced powerful manifestations of the Spirit. One only need attend, with faith, the church services of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to experience spiritual manifestations. I have observed some who were exposed to literature that opposed the church and witnessed the results of choosing faith or doubt. Doubt is often ignored and misunderstood. The reality is that there is power in faith and in doubt. Like two opposing magnets they push the other away. If those who oppose the church would put in the same effort to nurture faith they would be surprised to experience the wonder and excitement that so many members experience on a constant basis. But holding on to doubt will only push the feelings of the Spirit away. That is why missionaries and members ask those not of our faith whether they have read the book of mormon and prayed about it. And whether they have studied the positive things about Joseph Smith and prayed to know if he was a prophet of God. It all must be experienced for oneself. No one can have the experience for another. We believe in the power of personal revelation. And it is true and real. I invite anyone who wonders at it to come and try it out. To experience the wonder of it all.
It requires one to make a personal sacrifice to obtain an answer. Yes, this, “Do it yourself religion, requires us to exercise faith as a principle of power. This can only be obtained, when we are at a point, in which, the Spirit can teach you from on high.
You can become a Dark Star or a Day Star.
Superb talk, and a thunderous testimony of the church and the Restored Gospel.
Thanks for the comment!
I so appreciate your story and your testimony. You definitely helped me 🙂. Thanks very much.
I recently started going to a LDS church and I been meeting with the missionaries im to the point spiritly I'm conciding getting baptized to be a member for the church
Tori, that is wonderful! You are making a great choice. All the best!
Have a relationship with Jesus Christ. You don't need a false religion or a temple to do so.
“And blessed are all they who are persecuted for my name’s sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”
A very beautiful video, thank you for sharing.
I'm not LDS, but three things that I've noticed after watching a lot of conversion stories: (1) there is a *lot* of people who hate the LDS doctrine, even while being ignorant of it; (2) nearly every convert says how kind and winsome most Latter-Day Saints were with them (not that all LDS were perfect, but the grumpy mean ones seemed to be the exception rather than the rule); and (3) in the end, it was not going through a logical argument or debate that one them over, but a combination of the winsome nature of the Saints and an inner experience of conviction.
I don't want to get into a debate here, so I'll just leave it at that.
Well said
Thank you so much brother for your strong testimony ❤,..God bless us all!...
Thank you for your story and testimony.
In the beginning the guy in this story couldn’t find the church to be true for the same reason a criminal can’t find a cop.
Once he stopped seeking to prove the Church to be wrong and instead sought to find if it’s actually true everything began to change. Anyone can prove to themselves Almost anything to be false if they seek so to do. However, when we seek for truth the Spirit will Always manifest it when it is found; ALWAYS! That’s literally His Job description. It all boils down to OUR own personal motives as to what answers we receive.
Great comment!
Do you really believe that nonsense. 4-25
Thank you so much for your testimony, when people ask somebody else y not ask God you can go to the wrong dirección, I did read the Bile first and I had still many questions but the Bible help to open my eyes that I was in the wrong Church I prayed to God for help I did not know if He will answer to me , He sent the Misioneros to my house after I prayed with all my hearth I felt something very special a strong touch and at the same time soft on my hearth. I got baptized on 2008 my gratitud is big this Church of Jesucristo of later day saints is true iGod lives and Jesus Christ too.
Awesome that you were so committed to finding the truth.
My family believes that the Church teaches false doctrine and cannot understand why I pay a full tithing on a fixed income. Of course their lifestyle is perfect with a glass of wine always in their hand and young children who don't know who Jesus Christ is and that we come from apes. I pray for them.
Lol, yeah
Have them read the third chapter of Malachi (Old Testament) and then have them justify why you shouldn't pay tithing. This commandment is NOT a suggestion. Might help.

We have the gift of the Holy Ghost. I am beyond grateful for the priesthood, the book of Mormon, Joseph Smith and Temples. I'm grateful for prophets and Jesus Christ.
🐎god is a very real thing the saints are his children
When I first was baptized in the LDS church I was so happy, but then the members of that LDS church treated me really bad. Even the Bishop treated me bad. I had a really serious family problem concerning my daughter who also was baptized in the LDS. The leaders of this LDS church really did not help my daughter at all. The members and the leaders kept on telling me that what my daughter has is not that serious but in reality, it was a serious situation what my daughter was facing and still up to this day my daughter is still facing this serious situation..😰😰😰
I'm so sorry that is not right that people treat you that way. There is this quote I can't remember who said it but it says don't let anyone be the cause of why you leave the church they are not the reason you go to church in the first place. You and your daughter are beautiful children of God don't let unkind people bring you down trust in the lord you are strong and can get thourgh this
Then talk to your stake president. That's what they're there for.
I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and I send love, hope, faith, and prayers your way my sweet sister 💕
MANY of us love Jesus Christ, and therefore would embrace you in our wards. My wards have most always been friendly, but one that had problems years ago got rezoned.
You know that we do go to church to partake of the sacrament and renew our baptismal covenants, right? And we go to hear the inspired lessons that recharge our spiritual batteries, right?
I'm sure you know all of this or you wouldn't be here, but ULTIMATELY I hope that whatever your daughter's issue is, that you pray earnestly about it, tell your stake president that you and your daughter need a blessing for strength, guidance, and healing, and then KNOW that YOU have Father's leadership over your family (if you're single.)
Much love from your sister in Idaho🫂🙏🏼💞🤺
Martiza, I'm really sorry that you experienced that. I wish you could feel more support in your trials.

Listen to Jared Halverson on RUclips. He talks about truth. Powerful
@@laurabrooksperry3841 okay I subbed him
True research is not pro or anti. The conclusions come from the even-handed facts. If you're only studying one perspective on the issues, you are not really studying. And with regards to spiritual truths, the Holy Spirit is where your sure knowledge comes from.
Also remember a Spiritual testimony will always outlast an Intellectual Testimony. Both are great, but some things have to be learned through the Spirit
Amazing conversion through the power of the Holy Ghost, we will really know the truth because Heavenly Father answers prayers and Jesus Christ is His only begotten in the flesh, our Savior and Redeemer.
I am on this journey myself.
Thank Yooooouuuuuuu!!!!!! 💖
What a beautiful testimony ❤️that you for sharing
I am joining to these beautiful religion ,
I want to have order in my life and share this religion in Germany 🇩🇪 though I live in America and I want to have children well educated
i echo his comments. God won't lie. He lets us know the truth by the spirit. People can be deceived and they can lie. Ask God yourself. The gospel is true, because no average person would have a standard so high! We can become.
Thank you for sharing your story and testimony! Your video made me cry a little... (In a very good way!) 😇
Glad you enjoyed it!
Ok so I am a Southern Baptist, I am just gonna leave my testimony here.
Ok, so when I was around 8 I realized that I was a sinner and needed Jesus. I then was baptized and you get the rest I know that I am a sinner and that nobody's perfect but I strive to be more and more like Him every day. I know that God is real because I've seen him move. I've seen him move in the hearts of the lost, I've seen it move in the hand of a friend when you just can't take it anymore, I've seen him when the preacher gets up and talks about exactly what you are going through. I've seen people's lives completely change with him. You need him. I need him. We all need him. Just go to a church near you. It will change your life.
If you want to challenge me to go for it, I'll be happy to debate you.
No one here is going to challenge the fact that we all need Jesus. Thank you for sharing your testimony.
Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (gosh, that's a mouthful), and I 101% agree with you. I've seen miracles throughout my life through God, and I know that He is real and that He is our father in Heaven. No need to argue. What you said was beautiful. We all need Jesus in our lives. 😊
His will is better then Ours.
The young people and everybody should hear this. It will bless them. They can know for themselves the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true.
so he/U joined the church.? what a great story. Im a convert its been about 15 years now.
@ Paul Gregersen I don't know if you will even see this comment but thank you for your explanation of the corrected transaction of Matt 6:13. I've been reading the King James version of the Bible since I learned to read at about age 5. My parents weren't any kind of church goers, but always had a copy of the Bible on the bookcase and we kids could read it if we chose (don't know whether my younger sisters ever did). My UNDERSTANDING of that verse, in my heart, was always as Joseph Smith translated it..that God kept us from being led into temptation..although the original version does seem ambiguous. Thank you for verifying that my earlier understanding was always correct. I too, spent much of my early life searching for the "true church". Since I had been reading the Bible from as early age, I always felt there was something lacking in all the churches I attended. But at the age of 37, after a 2nd divorce left me as a single mother of 5,..when the missionaries knocked on my door, the Holy Spirit told me right then, before they even stepped in the door, that they had the truth. I was baptized a few weeks later (I was ready that day, before I'd even been to church) and have never looked back. Now at 78, I'm retired and revel in being able to spend as much time as I want to reading and pondering the scriptures. I'm still learning 🤗🙏
Moroni 10:5
And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye shall know the truth of all things.
Amen
Well the truth is the Covid pandemic is a scam and a genocidal program to kill a lot of humanity as a sacrifice for those elite that serve satan. And Pres Nelson pushed the vaccine!?!?!? He isn’t a prophet!

@@dougcorbett4933 Jesus Christ told President Nelson that the pandemic IS evil but that it HAS DEVISTATED many families, and that he needs to protect people..
If you have a problem with that, take it up with the LORD, but that doesn't change the FACT that Russell M. Nelson is called by God to be the world's prophet, seer, and revelator at this time. It's my testimony, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen 🙏🏼

I loved this.
Thanks!
I used to be Baptist but because of the judgmental people and hate inside the church it drove me away and turned to non denominational, but I didn’t feel full based of that so my friend who was a member of the church invited me to meet with the missionaries and the kindest they showed was unmatched, that was around February to march, I have been to a sermon twice and have met with the missionaries any chance I can get, I’m still not fully sure so on everything but I can’t deny there has been a reason that I have kept coming back and I’m hoping I can find out why, watching this video I had a feeling that I couldn’t describe and now I am asking myself, what to do know, if yall have any advice please share
Do you have a copy of the Book of Mormon?
The church uses the spirit, anyone can feel the spirit, even the traditional belief of the native tribes. The truth is important with spirituallity.
There is a reason, people are converted by the Spirit justifying to them the truth. It's not the missionaries or the members that convert people. The Spirit always justifies to us the truth that we feel.
Wonderful testimony!👏
Thanks for listening
I am a Mormon! And a Mormon just believes.
Thank you for sharing your personal experiences.
Thats one thing i see is that LDS answers alot of questions ive had when others i love and trust could not
Some of the most hateful, disrespectful people I’ve ever had conversations with have been Latter Day Saints. I have no idea why everyone says they are “good people.”
They’re only nice to you unless you ask them questions about their church.
I’m sorry for your personal experiences.
Isaiah 45:5 - “I am the Lord, and there is no other;Besides Me there is no God.I will gird you, though you have not known Me;
When investigating ANY culture, religion, etc., you need to go to the actual SOURCE. Not materials put out by hateful people who either don't actually know what they're talking about, or people who "joined" that society with the intent to crap on it. Or people who were held accountable for their actual wrong doings.
Thanks you for shere in that
# Paul Gregersen and Rob Williams..I have just spent the better part of an hour reading your back and forth comments, arguments and opposing views on the Church beliefs and doctrines and necessity of said Church. And I found it intriguing and compelling.. but I should have been getting dressed and getting out to buy groceries (since my pantry is bare except for some rice and oatmeal). So I have to say that even though some things in our lives can seem worthwhile, being centered on the Church, they can also be a distraction better left for another time 😲 Catch y'all later
i too told Mormons cult but it is because Jesus was created by the Father but to me not so as Jesus was always god creating the heavens- yes i keep talking missionaries - i do not know - i went lds church and not felt anything but go to evangel and find peace - but i love the Mormons loving the word - aaaggghhh i so hungry for the word
Beautiful testimony…thank you for sharing. 😊
I feel so all alone I feel so all alone
Sorry….. would you mind telling more?
Sorry Dear. Hope things get better for you.
This is a very interesting video but what I find perplexing is you can listen to videos of people who have left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the tone is the same. How they understand Christ and his gospel better now, how they are happier and more content. Then you have Christians who have converted to Judaism and they tell stories and it has the same feel as the other two groups do. Very confusing. In the end the only thing that matters is how is God working in your life.
I"m not sure how true his story is but I have a hard time beLIEving that all of his concerns about the church were answered fully to his satisfaction by two eighteen year old kids...He admits that the missionaries would keep going back to the same reply of "just go read the book of Mormon and pray about it" That doesn't sound like they were handling concerns about specific issues he had about the church...
Christ Letters he has returned🙏🏽
You cannot find “feelings” being the standard
Man’s heart is wicked and deceitful
Our minds, our hearts, living prophets, and God’s word all together combine to be a compass for us.
@@CalledtoShare
That’s why Mormons are not Christian.
The Bible says truth is not revealed through prayer and prophets. The Word of God is where we get truth.
And the Bible says Christians were first called Christian in Antioch at approximately 35AD, that isn’t what Mormonism teaches, that’s another difference
Amos 3:7 would disagree.
Also, tell me where in the Bible it defines what a Christian is?
@@CalledtoShare
When the Bible talks about a prophet, we know who they are because their prophecies are in scripture.
Look, let’s just put the obvious out there.
Anyone can call themselves a Christian, but we know who is a Christian by what the Scripture says…and why do you quote scripture how do you know that scripture wasn’t corrupted?🤦♂️
We know Mormons are not Christian, and here are the main reasons
1) the Bible is not their authority,
2) Mormons don’t believe in the Bible.
3) Mormons believe in an unlimited amount of gods and that they can be god themselves.
4) people have dark skin(black), because they sided with Satan in the pre-existence( that was LDS teaching before a “prophet” changed it in the 70s
5) everyone goes to 1 of the 3 kingdoms after death, only apostate Mormons demons and Satan go to hell
6) a dead person in the lowest kingdom can receive full exaltation through proxy
7) “faith” in Mormonism is not the faith the scripture describes, faith in
Mormonism isn’t based on anything except the persons feelings.
8) a Mormon will not call Joseph smith a false prophet even tho he has given false prophesies, commuted adultery, unrepentant fraud, and had the council make him king..
9) do we even need to talk about the book of Abraham 🤦♂️
10) Joseph smith 1st vision, he had in his bedroom and only saw an angel of light.
Of course Mormons will deny that. And even tho you can read his own account from his diary on LDS website, Mormons will still say it happened in the “sacred” groves and he saw the father and Jesus.
11)The reason Mormons are not Christian because it has nothing to do with Christ, a Mormons testimony is that they believe in Joseph smith being a prophet.
12) a book published in 1822 called “the view of the Hebrews” proves what Joseph smith said wasn’t revelation because a guy already wrote about it, it just wasn’t known well during Joseph time🤦♂️
Look, be a Mormon if you want, but don’t say Mormons are Christian. When Christianity was established the true church of Jesus Christ when Christ came.
You don’t see Muslims calling themselves Christians do you? No, because it’s clear Islam and Christianity are 2 different religions. It is no different with Mormonism.
Mormonism is a religion created by Joseph smith.
All that and you still haven't been able to tell me what a Christian is based on the Bible? Show me a book and verse that says what a Christian is.
And your 12 bullet points show that you obviously haven't done much learning on your own - if you spent 20 minutes talking to a Latter-day Saint you would realize those are blatantly wrong or severely twisted representations.
Who fed you this stuff? Like #2? That's hilarious.
Also, have you read View of the Hebrews? I bet not. Guess what book is on my bedside. Yep, View of the Hebrews. The fact that you haven't read it OR the Book of Mormon makes you completely unqualified to talk about #12.
I could go on.
Thanks for the concern, but if you really have a concern for me, at least spend 30 minutes learning the truth of what I believe. I mean, #11? Wow. Proof again you haven't lifted the cover of the Book of Mormon. It is EVERYTHING about Christ.
Swing by a Latter-day Saint service one Sunday and just be an observer. You'll learn more than you ever have from your pastor or whatever website you dug these bullet points up from.
And if you let me know what church you attend, I would love to visit. I consider us all sons of God and brothers and sisters in Christ.
Galatians 1:6-12 New King James Version (NKJV)But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.
The Book of Mormon teaches the same gospel as The Bible. Faith in Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life.
The Book of Mormon is real and true, In Jesus Name...Amen✝️🙏❤
Just remember that this video is put out by the church and they are slanted in their favor...Basically they are trying to sell you something... just like any other ad featuring testimonials. The only difference is that with those other ads, we take the testimonials with a grain of salt...We don't put much stock in what they say because we know that the companies are just trying to make money...Religious ads deserve the same scrutiny...
We are preaching Jesus. That's all.
John 16:18 Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit: “When [the Spirit] comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (ESV). In this verse, we see a three-fold ministry the Spirit will perform in relation to the unsaved world. He will “convict” the world; that is, He will reprove it or show it to be wrong. This reproof will target three areas in which the world needs admonishing: sin, righteousness, and judgment. No warm fuzzies there.
❤️❤️❤️
What I am confused about is why members are still using the word “mormon” even though they know not to use it… We are The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints! We are not Mormons! We are Christs!
Which Christ?
We are Christians (devotees to the full Gospel of the Christ).
Christianity: We are saved by faith alone.
2 Nephi 25:23: “For we labor diligently to write, to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.”
We are saved by Jesus Christ. “And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent.” - Mosiah 3 :17 (a verse in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ)
Hi Jay, in all sincerity and in the spirit of kindness, I ask: Can you point me to an authoritative source that uses that exact phrase "saved by grace alone"? I've looked for it. Maybe I've just missed it. Can you show me anywhere in the Standard Works of the Church of Jesus Christ that shows we are saved by our works alone? And finally, why did James say "faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone"? (James 2:17)
It's easy to cherry pick a verse here and there but scripture needs to be understood in its totality. And even if you discount the totality of scripture, just the Bible alone has dozens, if not hundreds of of calls to repentance, of being obedient to God, to doing things and becoming like Christ. Nobody is saying that our works save us without faith to grace (in fact, it's the opposite), but we are saying that our natures need to be transformed into the nature of Christ, and that can only happen by applying His grace and mercy to all of our best efforts, failures and all. 2 Nephi was spot on.
@@TheRealDonLayton Romans 4 explains this. Specifically verse 5, but the entire chapter. And really, the entire Bible, when you take the whole message of the Bible into account.
Now, real faith produces good works (faith that produces no works is a dead faith, not a real faith), but it is by grace through faith in Christ that we are saved, not by any works (Ephesians 2:8-9). Our works cannot save us. For the sake of justification, our best works are like filthy rags, as Isaiah 64 tells us.

I think you fundamentally misunderstand what we believe because we believe every word of that 100%. Well said. But I had wondered if you could find anywhere in scripture that said we were "saved by faith alone". That was your quote and I don't believe that's based on scripture. Scripture doesn't include the word "alone". And this isn't mincing words, it means something. It means that we have absolutely no role to play in our own salvation, which is not correct. Faith itself is a work. You have to exercise faith in order to be faith. Otherwise, we're no different from the devils, who also believe.
God's grace is imparted to us as we exercise faith and submit our will to Him. That's what He really wants because then He can mold us and shape us into the kind of people that are in the image of His Son. For example, if a rebellious individual refused to even consider that God exists (and I'm sure we both know a few of them), God will not force that person to believe in Him. As a result, that person will not be eligible for His grace, at least not to salvation. A prominent leader and latter-day apostle of Jesus Christ said this:
"The submission of one’s will is really the only uniquely personal thing we have to place on God’s altar. The many other things we ‘give’… are actually the things He has already given or loaned to us." (Neal A. Maxwell)
For me, salvation isn't just believing. It's believing to the point where His grace will transform me. It is BECOMING. This only happens as I submit to Him (also a work). My act of submission will not save me. But my act of submission will enable His grace and by His grace I am saved. The phrases "after all we can do" and "work out your own salvation" (also a biblical reference in Phill 2:12) are simply ways to express that God requires our best effort to come to Christ by submitting our wills to Him. When we do that, He enables grace into our lives.
Works are very important for several reasons. First, they demonstrate our love to and loyalty to God. Second, good works, if done in the right spirit, are a way to exercise and build our faith in Jesus Christ. And finally, they benefit others and God's love can be manifested through us and our works. But no amount of good works will ever "save us".
I hope that clears it up.
what do you about the LDS church.
Its all contradictory when you ask god what is his plan for you but free agency is a huge tenet therefore he doesnt thats a big difference between chrustianity and mormonism.
I can’t reconcile Joseph Smith’s beliefs and Isaiah 43:10.
I understand how that would cause some confusion. I don’t have all the answers, and I’m waiting for more light and knowledge to come in this life and life to come. One way I have looked at it, it’s just as my earthly father is the only father I’ll ever have, and I’ll never have another earthly father, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t other fathers on the earth. That helps me have a different view of things.
@@CalledtoShare Your response makes me think about some thing I’ve thought about many times. As a father myself I’ve shared with my son what it was like to be his age. If Joseph Smith is correct about God once being a man then why has God never shared with us what it was like to have been a man just as we are?
Even though it’s difficult for LDS members I seem to think it makes more sense that God was formless and invisible as the Bible says and created everything that we see, including us. The creator is greater than the creation.
If anyone add or take away from the scriptures. The Bible is the only authority!
The Bible, though sacred and adored by me, is not the only authority. This passage from The Book of Mormon below is pure truth. I hope you will read it with an open heart. It speaks to those who have similar thoughts as you. Thanks for commenting on the video!
"3 And because my words shall hiss forth-many of the Gentiles shall say: A Bible! A Bible! We have got a Bible, and there cannot be any more Bible.
4 But thus saith the Lord God: O fools, they shall have a Bible; and it shall proceed forth from the Jews, mine ancient covenant people. And what thank they the Jews for the Bible which they receive from them? Yea, what do the Gentiles mean? Do they remember the travails, and the labors, and the pains of the Jews, and their diligence unto me, in bringing forth salvation unto the Gentiles?
5 O ye Gentiles, have ye remembered the Jews, mine ancient covenant people? Nay; but ye have cursed them, and have hated them, and have not sought to recover them. But behold, I will return all these things upon your own heads; for I the Lord have not forgotten my people.
6 Thou fool, that shall say: A Bible, we have got a Bible, and we need no more Bible. Have ye obtained a Bible save it were by the Jews?
7 Know ye not that there are more nations than one? Know ye not that I, the Lord your God, have created all men, and that I remember those who are upon the isles of the sea; and that I rule in the heavens above and in the earth beneath; and I bring forth my word unto the children of men, yea, even upon all the nations of the earth?
8 Wherefore murmur ye, because that ye shall receive more of my word? Know ye not that the testimony of two nations is a witness unto you that I am God, that I remember one nation like unto another? Wherefore, I speak the same words unto one nation like unto another. And when the two enations shall run together the testimony of the two nations shall run together also.
9 And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever.
10 Wherefore, because that ye have a Bible ye need not suppose that it contains all my words; neither need ye suppose that I have not caused more to be written.
11 For I command all men, both in the east and in the west, and in the north, and in the south, and in the islands of the sea, that they shall write the words which I speak unto them; for out of the books which shall be written I will judge the world, every man according to their works, according to that which is written.
12 For behold, I shall speak unto the Jews and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the Nephites and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto the other tribes of the house of Israel, which I have led away, and they shall write it; and I shall also speak unto all nations of the earth and they shall write it.
13 And it shall come to pass that the Jews shall have the words of the Nephites, and the Nephites shall have the words of the Jews; and the Nephites and the Jews shall have the words of the lost tribes of Israel; and the lost tribes of Israel shall have the words of the Nephites and the Jews." - 2 Nephi 29: 3-13

@@stevedavies8703 The scriptures you refer to are found in Deuteronomy (and if this scripture refers to the Bible, then NONE of the rest of the Bible is true), and Revelation. BOTH of these scriptures refer to the book (scroll) that was being written at the time. The Bible will not have been put together until about 400 a.d.
@@terryslade6240 The Bible is a work of God! It is totally unified, without contradiction, an absolute miracle! It is not by chance this warning is placed where it is, and It is totally befitting that the warning to add or take away from it is worthy of punishment!
Does the mighty God need the help of men? Men who are not free from sin: they sin every day! God does not fellowship with sinner's. Jesus said, you are my friends if you do whatsoever I command you! Men have not obeyed, yet they want to add to the scriptures! They would pollute them as they pollute everything! It is only when we obey we get understanding not before! God resists the proud!
@@stevedavies8703 Let me give you a few examples of what I mean by contradictions in the Bible. The KJV Bible lists a scripture "The only BEGOTTEN son of God." Many of the new versions of the bible have changed that scripture to "The only son of God." That completely negates Romans 8:16-18 (I'll not deprive you of the pleasure of looking up some of these scriptures).
Exo 33:20 reads, "And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live." John 1:18 reads, "No man hath seen God at any time;..." Compare that with Gen 12:7, 17:1, 18:1, 32:30, Exo 6:3, 24:9-10, 33:11, Deut 34:10, Amos 9:1 (just a few).
It's well known that the scribes and interpreters who translated the Bible into the KJV changed certain scriptures to say "servant" rather than "slave" because they knew King James was a slave-holder and they didn't want to offend him.
It's also known that there are four versions of the resurrection of Jesus: Matthew: "In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the Sepulchre."--An angel descended from heaven and rolled away the stone; Mark: "And when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had brought sweet spices that they might come and anoint him." The stone was already rolled away and a young man sat in the sepulchre. Luke: "They" came to the sepulchre, entered in and found the body gone, but two men stood by them. John: Mary Magdalene came to the Sepulchre, found it empty, and ran and told Simon Peter, and the others.
As far as warnings NOT to add to this Book of scripture, there is also one in Deuteronomy that says nearly the same in Revelation. They were talking about that particular book, or scroll. Revelations was not the last book of scripture written. That has been proven. Others were written after Revelation, but the collection of writings consisting of the sixty-six books we know as the Bible were brought together and compiled into one volume long after John wrote the prophetic book that has been placed at the end of the collection. It is clear, therefore, that the terrible judgments pronounced upon those who add to the book could not possibly apply to the whole of the Bible or even to the New Testament, but only to the book of Revelation. . . .
It is also interesting to note that John himself ADDED to scripture after writing the book of Revelation, which is generally conceded to have been written while he was on the Isle of Patmos. It was long after John left Patmos that he wrote his first epistle. This fact standing alone would be sufficient to defeat the claim that revelation was closed and that man was enjoined from adding to scripture. This adds cumulative evidence that John had reference to the book of Revelation only.
See what I mean?
As an x Mormon I cannot understand how you can justify all the contradictions Mormonism has to the true gospel of Christ. Joseph Smith failed every test of a true profit and according to Gods incorruptible word he should not have failed even one. How do Mormons explain things like the Paul the apostle saying that if he or even an angel of light comes and leads you after other gods or adds or takes away anything from the Gospel then they are damned and anyone who follows!!! Jesus himself warned that the false profits would be many and just using his name and bits and pieces of his Word is useless
I don't need to justify anything...
The gospel of Jesus Christ is true.
For me, the greatest proof is the Book of Mormon and I love Elder Holland's quote where he said, if someone leaves this Church, "it must be done by crawling over or under or around the Book of Mormon to make that exit.”
@@tonybasoni8443 you can have your opinion but have you read the book yourself? I don’t wanna fight so please know that is not what I. Intend but I have had experiences to know the Book of Mormon is true and that Gods plan in that book is real.
I think you could say the same things about Jesus Christ's ministry. A lot of it failed the Pharisees' test of a true prophet AND God's incorruptible word. They even killed him over it. They constantly and consistently questioned his authority and priesthood power.
And just FYI, the Bible has many mistakes and missing things in it. And there are MANY versions of the Bible, and they ALL say different things. For example: In the KJV version it says, "...God's only begotten son...." In many of the "New Age" versions of the Bible, it says, "...God's only son."
See what I mean?
The Reaper Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration and he is a prophet of God. Heavenly father and Jesus Christ appeared to him🙏🙏🙏
This is the biggest problem with the LDS church, feelings don’t determine truth.
Jesus seems to think they do:
15 He saith unto them, But whom say aye that I am?
16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.
17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Matthew 16

How much time is spent in your church learning about hermeneutics?
Revelation is an important part of the Christian life but our personal revelations should never contradict already established Truth. If it does, that is confirmation that the revelation was not from God.
In the end, Joseph Smith claimed to be a prophet. There are multiple places throughout the Bible that we are told how to discern between true and false prophets. Not one time does God ever say to pray and ask him and get a warm, peaceful feeling about it.
"For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." - 1 Corinthians 2:11

Listening to your story, it seems you never actually understood what the Bible teaches. You say that you used to believe that Jesus saves us from our sin and then we just “Bob up and down and hope that we’re good enough”. That’s not at all what the Bible teaches and if you think that then you’ve clearly never read it.
The Bible teaches that we are sinful by nature and because of that we are separated from God the Father. When Jesus died on the cross, he took the punishment we deserved and imputed his righteousness to us, so now we can be reconciled to the Father and stand before Him as holy and sinless.
After we are born again, we are filled with the Holy Spirit who brings the work of sanctification in us. This is a life-long process of us slowly walking away from sin and waking in righteousness. We become more and more like Jesus as we are filled with the fruit of the spirit. The entire life of a Christian is focused on becoming more and more like Christ.
The English translation talks about "gods" which is a bad translation. The Hebrew that the Bible was written in, doesn't say gods, but Ben a Elohim. This means "sons of God" which never referes to people in the Bible, it always refers to angels. Just download a Strong's concordance and check for yourself. You can't gamble your eternity on warm fuzzies.
Thanks for your story and your testimony but, please, please, resist referring to us as Mormons. I don’t know how to say it nicely, but to me (personally) it is like using the ‘n’ word. We only reinforce their epithet that they intend when we continue to refer to ourselves as Mormons.
