I got my Polo Date a few years back because literally every other watch was impossible to buy retail. I stumbled upon this watch and tried it on. It was very me is all I can say, it does come with a steep price tag but I’ve never gotten something so luxury for myself ever. Afterwards I did regret so much for not waiting longer and researching to potentially get a different watch.
But every time I put this watch on it’s so simplistically beautiful and I love it. You really have to see the dial in reality and try it on.
Absolutely beautiful watch. Thank you for showcasing it.
Vintage Piaget from the 60's and 70's is still quite marvellous value - the ultra-thin movements are among the very best around, more robust often than some of the AP/VC ones, with some very fine finishing.
I look for those a lot but hard to find them in good condition they are all run down :/
I bought the Polo Chrono a a few months ago and I love it. It wears well and looks amazing. Fantastic watch that deserves to be in the conversation with the Royal Oak and Nautilus.
Love my polo field, one of the best watches in my collection
The one that is special is the blue faced Polo chronograph version when you put it on an alligator strap. I’ve seen it in person and I think I prefer it to the Nautilus as a purely beautiful watch.
Finally Piaget! This company deserves some attention with proprietary movement. A couple of GPHGs won, etc. Dear team, can you please do Hermes next?
Polo S chrono version owner here. My 2 cents. The watch sits beautifully on the wrist with that brilliant blue dial with matching blue subdials creating a presence that’s not fully apparent in pics and videos. Very thin in classic Piaget style for a chronograph at just over 11 cm allowing it to be worn as a dress or sport watch in that vibe of other watches that you compare it with although definitely not a dress watch especially with 100 m water resistance. My main concern is that the bracelet has an almost imperceptible taper so it doesn’t wear as well as it should. Especially head scratching for a company that’s known for expensive jewelry as well as watches. Speaking of expensive, this watch can be had new or .slightly pre owned at well under list price. So definitely not in the hype zone. Its main competition is definitely GP, Chopard, IWC and Zenith, not Rolex sport watches which fills a different niche. Great review Teddy and thanks!
Fantastic video and wonderful watch, greetings from Spain
Got this in February in secondary market for a nice price. It is absolutely beautiful and the quality is apparent. The remaining watch on my current wish list is the Bulgari Octo Finissimo.
Very nice I loved to see in another dial colors but in general way about price dial bracelet etc just ok 💪👏👍❤️
How is this an integrated sport watch? The bracelet is not part of the case nor does this watch require a proprietary strap the way integrated watches do. The mere fact that it is NOT integrated would be a reason for me to consider it.
Exactly. This video is ridiculous because the whole premise is that the Polo is an integrated bracelet watch - which it is most certainly not!
Piaget and tudor were my grails at 14 back when I got into collecting
Piaget is one of those brands i feel are really underrated - was always impressed by the thin movements and sleek designs, so glad you've covered them. Cant speak to quality others say is sub-par, but i do love their design
In the seventies and eighties, Piaget is the top four big brands alongside VC, PP and AP😊
Handled this and alpine eagle and I still think I'd pick the Riviera so much value
I’ve always liked Piaget. Too expensive for me rn but maybe one day 😊
Hey man im new here, just got into watches. Its a fun world and your videos are great!, my first warch is a fossil me3099. I like it very much. Can you make a review on it ❤❤
One of my best collection as far as watch is concerned
Which is the best watch of 35-38mm under 1000$ except Tissot PRX, please suggest. I know Citizen Tsuyosa is 40mm but is it worth it? Not going for Seiko as it doesn't offer sapphire glass.
Wish that one day i could afford any Piaget model
The alpine eagle is fire!
The bracelet is identical to the Cartier Ballon Bleu originating in the Richemont parts bin.
Enjoy your videos Teddy but this isn't an integrated bracelet. Neither is the Aquanaut which the Polo appears to homage
I think the Polo is a really beautiful watch, and wears wonderfully on the wrist. That said, its price is too high for what you get. While the case is obviously inspired by the Nautilus (and compared to that it is a bargain), it's actually more similar to an Omega Aqua Terra, which costs half as much, and has better specs (and also nicer movement finishing, in my opinion). So apart from the Piaget brand, I don’t really see the luxury value...
Look cool but I prefer the Chopard, and by far, the Naut
Not a fan of this on the bracelet, but it fits beautifully on the rubber strap.
The gold polo was beautiful! This thing is lovely but not $14k!!!!😂😂
My one issue with this watch is for this price they should be giving you a gold rotor. Not a pvd coated one. You got a brand like piaget who for decades refused to do anything but precious metal watches even going so far as to return the nautilus to Genta saying it didnt align with their brand cause its a steel watch and not precious metal and then a few years later releasing a gold polo to compete in the luxury sports watch genre. Piaget's first attempt at steel sports watches wasnt until the the 2000's and it was a fail with the market. They tried again in the mid 2010's with the polo S and its a success as its still around and liked by many. They should have given a nod to their philosophy and done a gold rotor. You got brands like VC with their fifty six at the same price range with a gold rotor.
I had this hands on for two days, the detail simply cannot compete with even entry level rolex, not to mention PP or AP
More like a Aquanaut than Nautilus but I get your point
Because you could put this on any standard 21mm strap how is it a integrated bracelet?
I think it is the overall design that makes it an integrated bracelet sportswatch.
It has a big unique bezel. A three dimensional dial with a date display. It uses superluminova for hands and indexies. The bracelet has a butterfly clasp and was thougtfull picked for the design.
What makes a integrated bracelet sportswatch its not that there is a unique system for the bracelet. But its the whole package and you dont need to check every box.
Even the CEO of AP said that the royal oak is not really an integrated sports watch because the bracelet can be removed.
I personally think that the cartier santos is also an integrated bracelt sports watch just like the Breitling chronomat.
But i also can see that for you its just a standard watch.
It's unfortunate that this will push up the prices of vintage polos. Unfortunatevonly because I never pulled the trigger on one. Not sure this is the move for Piaget. Might be two years too late .
Feels weird having a piaget with a full rotor.
Two issues here:
- No micro adjust/on the fly adjustment in that price point is absurd (i know the Nautilus and Aquanaut dont have it and i think that is also insane)
- I just cannot wrap my mind around spending $15k on a brand that no one has ever heard of
You know things are getting out of hand when a *Piaget* can be accurately described as "more attainable". 😀
Piaget great brand, but I still think it look too much as a aquanaut by Patek, just now their going back to their roots to doing the polo 79 I think it woul be cool if their made a similar but not identical of it in steel. Grabbing the shape of its case by example with a other dial so that it won’t look like Patek and that bracelet it’s ok but I think it needs a redesign
Every now and then i forget what hacking means but i know i can always count on Teddy to remind me. 😂
Bulgari Octo Roma if going by looks and price better than Piaget….
Have both, but finissimo, and they wear completely different.
The polo is more versatile, but the octo is a work of art, especially the movement.
Octo is very undervalued, even though slightly more expensive, and so unique that you will still stare at it in 30 years.
Go octo, imho
Love the altiplano range, but the polo has never thrilled me...
Is it really an integrated bracelet watch? It looks like you can change the bracelet. Those lines on the lugs…
Some people don't realise real quality, Piaget
Biggest problem is the massive media hype of what's hot and what's not. The masses are so brain washed very few think for themselves!
I don't get the point of the integrated bracelet if then the design of the watch makes it look like it has regular lugs
Love the content. This is not a watch for me. Not a huge fan of the integrated look. I think the best one is Vacheron
Honestly any latest Omega Constellation beats this by miles! Heck I would rather prefer a Zenith Defy, Panera although not in the same integrated category. This for the $15K price is way too overpriced! For that money, I would build a fantastic 3 watch collection of Omega, Zenith and squeeze in a Grand Seiko as well !
How can you squeeze in 3 of those watches for 15k USD - let me know
These are a reasonable second-hand buy; but don’t pay anything like full retail.
Love the history, not so much the price.
When I go golfing with a girlfriend, I wear a Rolex Submariner. When I go golfing with the mayor, I wear Piaget Polo.
Piaget prob more craftsmanship than this PatekBS rolling around meanwhile.
In a world full of integrated steel sports watches, there's still no mid sized Tissot PRX :(
Not overlooked, I have to say. The Piaget Polo comes in at around the same price at retail as the Bulgari Octo Finissimo. The Piaget Polo doesn't look like it earned that price, especially when put next to the accomplished Finissimo.
The crown seems a tad bit too small.
Hello
There’s 0 innovation in Piaget like their new gold watch, they could’ve atleast made the date wheel match the dial colour 😫
Not a bad. Looking watch but mant he movement i seeen way better movement from cheaper great looking watches like omega, Jaeger lecoultre, glashutte original....this movement is clsoe to some nomos that are between 4-5 grand
Such a nice watch until you got to the specs. My 5.5" wrist just laughed
So an expense Nautilus from Patek or and less expensive Piaget which looks like a Nautilus? Let's see, either way I get an ugly watch so both suck at any price.
Attractive, but you lost me at $15K. Also, would like it if it had a rounded rectangular case.
Beautiful, but too expensive.
Personally i just do not like the way this watch is shaped. Dial feels to large and awkward prob due to the lack of taper to the bracelet.
Every actually good-looking watch is an alternative to the Nautilus.
This is n°1 on my list on a blue rubber strap
For me a green Piaget 🤤
Green perpetual calendar have you seen it?
@@mjhastings4534 I tried it in Paris ! Absolutely stunning
I'd still take the new Ingenieur over it, even at the slightly inflated price.
I dislike the dial geometric styling, this s looks much cleaner
👍
This is not an integrated bracelet watch...
Buy a Longines instead of Piaget...
Luxury is code for rediculously expensive!!! If it were solid 18k gold it is still rediculous at $14k!! I'm keeping my new Marathon quartz!!
Nice cope watch
Nautilus' chubby little bro
Сколько у него этих офигенных рубашек? 🤔
Gorgeous, but WAY too overpriced
Hublot tier.
If you buy this because you can’t get an Aquanaut or Nautilus. You’re setting yourself up for disappointment. You’ll never be happy with it and settling.
If you buy it because you love it… you’re winning 😂
But doubt you will. No taper on the bracelet is such a failure.
The three A's that make a ”luxury” watch less desirable:
Alternative
Attainable
Affordable
Not really a watch for me. Plus I have more of a seiko budget. Maybe someday a Rolex.
Chopard all day no question
If you are spending thousands of dollars for an "alternative" you are a fool, when you spend that money buy a watch you really love or keep wearing your Casio
A nice watch. But by far too expensive. I would never buy it.
This looks to much like a rip off of the aquanaut
nah.... why would I want to spend 15k on something that tryes so much to look like patec..
Meh
£15k. Nope.
Piaget is pretty meh
Nautilus with an extra chromosome
basic ETA escapement at this prince point? no, thanks
That's what I'm saying, *cough* Cartier
Look like demo version of Nautilus. Sorry. Its my opinion. 🙃
Meh release
Scientifically speaking, I think this watch is horrendous.
I stumbled into a Piaget shop blacked out. Bought this watch. Went home sobered up, hated it - then spent 4 months trying to return it. Company sucks. Merchant sucks, watch sucks.
Piaget quality is terrible , with that price , Rolex or Omega way better .😊
The quality is ok, but for this price, I'd rather get Rolex for a more unique design.
@@need4speed290 I get the quality part, but are Rolex' designs really that unique? 😁
🤡
I agree rolex is so boring
The quality is so bad that they offer an 8 year warranty 😅.
This watch is just straight up ugly, there is no sugar coating it. The worst looking integrated bracelet I have seen yet. And the movement is a big disappointment too, even though it's supposed to be in house, it looks like dressed up ETA with no interesting features. Just take look at anything at price point from for example Glashütte Original, and compare that beautiful movement finishing to this boredom. Waste of money that's for sure.
For that money. … not a screw down crown. No teperd band Are they not aweak ad piaget
Wake up piaget
Attainable Nautilus = poor man's Nautilus, more like a poor man's aquanaut. Save up and get the real deal. Don't waste your money.
Zeerootime is a Japanese brand which makes beautiful Patek Phillipe style watches.
Don't like it!
Beautiful watch. Especially the green on Aligator
👍
