Hey man. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’ve inspired me and my girlfriend to start backpacking. We’ll be visiting Sougahoagdee Falls in Bankhead this Easter weekend. I have seen some dumb comments about keeping these trails “secret” and just wanted to encourage you to keep going. You make awesome stuff and have atleast inspired two people
Well thank you very much! I'm so glad you found my videos useful. That's all I could hope for. Let me know how your Sougahoagdee fFalls hike goes. It is such a beautiful spot! 👍
This was a great trip and I really enjoyed your video. I love these quest hikes. It really is rewarding when you find your destination and the journey is it's own reward. Thanks for putting this together and bringing us along for the journey. See you on the next one!
Glad you enjoyed it! It is fun to search out things when, no matter how much online research you have done, you just can't quite pin down where something is.
You put out the best videos!!! My grandson and I watch your videos, which prepares us for the same hike/backpacking routes. Last weekend we did the cave creek loop in Cheaha, saw the old plane crash, pitched camp on a beautiful ridge, saw the best sunset, it was a awesome adventure. Thanks for taking the time to document your journeys and sharing them!!!
Thank you so much!! This is exactly why I do this: to help people discover this beautiful world. I’m so glad you find these videos helpful. Thanks for watching and stay in touch! 👍
Hello there! My husband and I recently discovered your channel and have been immensely enjoying your videos. We love hiking and sightseeing and do a lot of both. We appreciate you and your family for documenting your journeys around this absolutely stunning part of the world. We have hiked all over the world but we believe that the southeastern U.S. can't be rivaled. We are very happy to have found you and look forward to future content. We will use what you learn to improve upon what we have learned through the years. Thank you so much for this wonderful work of love for the land. You are making our travels more informed and are inspiring us to go more. Thank you all!
Enjoying your videos of the Sipsey Wilderness which I am using to plan a weekend hike for three of us old timers. Only concern I have is the amount of blowdown near the Thompson TH.
That’s great! I haven’t been over on the Thompson Creek side this summer, so I’m not sure of the current conditions, but blow down is always an issue in Sipsey. Hope you have a great trip! 👍
I would love to explore a place like that and maybe camp out, but I'm not going in there unarmed. Probably not legal to camp there anyway. Usually places like that are extremely restrictive.
Actually, you can camp anywhere you want in Federal Wilderness Areas like Sipsey and the Mattox Motel cave is inside the Sipsey Wilderness Area. Wilderness Areas allow "dispersed camping". You are only asked to Leave No Trace that you were there (lnt.org/why/7-principles/), which, sadly, some people have difficulty with.

Do you have any coordinate you could share for the cave location?
Sure. It's here: 34.37675, -87.45399
