I spent 10 weeks in Birmingham last spring and your videos inspired me to go out and explore. I fell in love with the nature scene in Alabama and now, almost a year later, I will soon be moving back! I will definitely be visiting this.
It was actually a pretty easy bushwhack and in hindsight, could have been a little easier yet had we stuck with Trail 201 for about another 100 yards. I have a more difficult bushwhack video queued up to come out in a few weeks. I try to do some of these each winter while the brush and ticks are down. Sometime you and I need to meet up and do some exploring together. 👍
Is there a way to view the route you all took? AllTrails doesn’t show a route that goes from upper to lower like you guys took, and the last time I tried to find white falls I got lost and went miles farther than I needed to 😂
The AllTrails map for the lower White Falls is accurate (www.alltrails.com/trail/us/alabama/white-falls). You can get to the upper White Falls by climbing up where we went down. Otherwise, to get to it from above, like we did, follow the White Falls trail in AllTrails until you get to about the 1.8 mile distance mark. Then just strike out down hill to the East until you hit the creek, and then follow the creek downstream until you hit the Upper White Falls and the Valentine Pool.
With your help, my husband &I found Valentine Pond. It was magnificent! Thank you.
Wonderful! I’m so glad you found it!
Oh man! What a great hike. I love all of the streams and waterfalls. Thank you for bringing us along and sharing!
Yeah, the Bankhead National Forest and Sipsey Wilderness are just loaded with waterfalls. It’s the land of 1000 waterfalls for sure.

Spectacular falls. I haven’t seen a video on that bushwhack to get there. 🦑

Thanks! It really is one of my favorite places in the Sipsey Wilderness. 👍
Joe, it's Keat Baker. Wow, this one looks awesome. I'd love to do some backpacking in the Sipsey.
Great to year from you Keat! I was planning on going this week, but the boys have talked me into going to Mt. Cheaha area instead.
Thank you! Great Vid! Headed down there in a few weeks to backpack and explore.
Thank you! Glad you liked it. Hope you have a great hike! 👍
