A great little tip I learnt in the Royal Marine Commandos, at night before you go bed, heat up a load of water, put it back in your water bottle, drop it in bottom of your sleeping bag to keep your toes warm, and when you use it in the morning you use less fuel to reheat it to cook with.
I adore how you show things not going to plan, but still adapt to enjoy. You make me want to rethink my life choices!!! Please keep producing this content & let me know how I can support you from the states.
Only just discovered your channel a few days ago and already watched most of the films. Makes a refreshing change from the normal beardy blokes and expensive kit to find someone more realistic and relatable showing that things don’t always go to plan, and you don’t always need the most expensive kit to get out there and enjoy time in nature. Looking forward to your next films and wish you the best for all your future adventures.
@@WildBeare It shows you have such passion and a great inspiration that I’ve now got my old tarp and camping gear out of storage and thinking of doing wild camping LOL😂. Looking forward to your test on the OneTigris Backwood Budgalow. Will it be better than tarp and Bivvy?🤔
Yes, good comments... I get a bit sick, or tired, as a man, watching other men doing wild camps. Nice to have a feminine touch , without a beard obviously..I HOPE SHE TAKES CARE. (I ONCE DID A WILD CAMP IN A SMALL TENT & IT WAS MINUS 10 or thereabouts, but I only had a couple of t-shirts & jeans on, & not a very thick s.bag. I made sure plenty of insulation under me.
Exactly my thougts! These serious bushcraft guys are too often focused on a gear and expensive stuff. It looks like these fancy things are more important for them than camping itself. It's so ridiculous 😅 That's why I instantly loved this channel. Simplicity, unpretentiousness, realism and zero snobbish talk about Stuff, it's so pleasant to watch❤
One of the things in life that I always look forward to when I pop onto RUclips is seeing a new video posted by Claire, its one of the bright sunny spots on what otherwise might have been a gloomy day.. Thanks Claire for all you do ! 🤓
I love these videos, no drama , no hearing a noise in the woods and thinking it must be a ghost or a Werewolf, like so many other channels, just calm relaxed chilled out bliss ❤
This is so cool! It's amazing to see you brave the cold and go stealth camping in a busy forest at below freezing temperatures. The footage is breathtaking and I love how you captured the beauty of nature in the wintertime. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
Bear, you can take branches from other trees, 1 or 2 from each and interspersed with those on the tree , add, moss, bracken leaves etc to make a very wether proof shelter.
Camping is the adventure! You have to improvise at a moments notice and at any time of the day. Embrace it, learn from it and move on. What a wonderful video. Happy camping Claire!
I keep trying to find something new and fresh to leave in the comments, but there’s just no getting around the qualities that make all of your videos special. Beyond the great videography, photography, editing and terrific music, there’s a beautiful woman with a tremendous heart, an unstoppable, adventurous spirit and a kind and compassionate soul. You are amazing, and hearing your voice talking about your experience and the world around you always makes me smile. 🥰 Wishing you all the very best.
I camped like this under a large Spruce tree. Gently pinned the long lower branches to the ground for walls/roof.Very cosy and made Spruce tea 🍵 🌲in the morning from the leaves 😋..Awesome 🌳🌲🔥🌳🌲🔥
Fantastic filming and editing. Thats apart from finding a suitable place and having the skill and knowledge to actually camp overnight in sub zero conditions. Im in awe.
Thank you so much :) it wasn't what I planned but I think I was actually warmer uner the tree than I would have been with the tarp camp I had planned haha
I really liked this. I keep it cold in my room to feel cozy under covers. A camouflage tarp might be a nice addition to roll yourself in your bivy up in like a burrito for an extra layer of protection from the wind and cold and tiny critters wishing to join you in your bivy.😄Take care, from AB🌺(wild rose country), Canada

To go there the first thing I do is bait a shark hook with dead flesh usually collected from tar surfaces where vehicles speed.. How hard could it be to reproduce a stone age task methodology ?
Thank you for giving us that oh so lovely to look at frosty night under those incredible stars. I continue to live vicariously through your marvelous adventures whilst remaining toasty warm and dry inside my house. One day, however, I shall venture forth.
On my first bivi camp, I learnt a valuable lesson. I was in a group of six camping in the Lake District in winter. At night my friend and I lay under conifers where we woke up warm and dry. The rest of the group decided to lay out in the open. In the morning they found themselves in a dew-sodden patch. They had a miserable time making breakfast on the damp and cold grass.
Always appreciate your ingenuity in making situations better, whether it's an improvised repair, or just giving yourself more room under some low-hanging branches👍
Such a fun looking lil' overnighter Claire! A bit chilly for sure, but incredibly beautiful with all of that frost covering everything in the morning 😍 It was pretty cool to see how much added warmth that tree provided you as well. Thanks for sharing another fun and unique adventure! I hope that you have an absolutely amazing weekend my friend! :) Stay wild.... 🐻 -John
Many years ago I bivvied in mid-winter in a beech grove buried under a large heap of dead leaves; great insulation and a very warm night. No bivvy bag just a ground sheet and lots of leaves.
Try using a wide mouth 1 litre Nalgene as a hot water bottle. I fill it with just off the boil hot water and wrap with any item of clothing to avoid scalding my feet. By morning it’s still lukewarm and speeds up making yourself a hot drink. I just walked the Coleridge Way, 52 miles, and had awful weather - torrential rain, sleet, high winds etc and it feels amazing to get under my quilt with my hot water bottle.
I have to rave about this for a sec, The music around the 8:00 minute mark is perfection! 😍 stopped me in my tracks, I had to go find it and listened on repeat for an hour or so.. it’s a wonderful discovery. Also, catching up on your videos while I work. Love your voice! It’s soothing.

Another amazing video. Well done for coping with the cold. Just come back from the Lake District, camping in -4 degrees. A good sleeping bag always helps. I been watching your videos for ages now. Keep up the good work. The Ocoopo hand warmers rock 😂.
A quick comment, unrelated to this video. I just rewatched (DAY 3 | Three Nights Alone In The Rhinog Mountains). How very cool to see someone so connected to nature and just how emotional it can be. Sharing that tree with a diamondback?
Squirrels in the UK are all high. I saw Bill Bailey's bit on it. Hilarious
Give it a try
Really loving your Video techniques, with the Drone, zoom ins, panning and everything. Great stuff.
We call this "HOMELESSNESS" on the outskirts of the big cities..LOL
The native cherry trees (Australia) grow with a canopy that extends 3 m. The ground underneath is dry. They make great spots for camping.
Beautiful tree, thanks for sharing.
You continue to amaze. Well done Claire
Girl you have so much courage! Respect!
Another amazing video. Well done for coping with the cold. Just come back from the Lake District, camping in -4 degrees. A good sleeping bag always helps. I been watching your videos for ages now. Keep up the good work. The Ocoopo hand warmers rock 😂.
Thank you, yep hand warmers are just the best aren't they :D happy trails to you :) 🌿💚
A quick comment, unrelated to this video. I just rewatched (DAY 3 | Three Nights Alone In The Rhinog Mountains). How very cool to see someone so connected to nature and just how emotional it can be. Your closing in that video shows many of us what we all hope to feel but just haven't gotten there yet.
Hello! Ahh thanks so much, that was my first multi-night trip and I was a bit overwhelmed by it all, I don't think I really believed I could do it but it was one of the best experiences of my life. And the start of a love affair with getting lost in the wild places (hopefully not literally lost haha!)
@@WildBeare Funny, that is a lesson I have been trying to impress upon my sons. Try something you are challenged with and experience what it means to succeed. They are resistant but I am resilient. LOL
Enjoyed watching this, inspiring stuff, and like how you have shot it.
New subscriber here. I am loving your videos! Beautiful locations, the night sky shots, and you have such a soothing voice. Stay safe!
Always makes me laugh the way you look around and when you spot people, it’s as though you’re having a “stealth poo!!” 😂😂
A shit.
Yes she is great resource full a true camper
You remind me of a dear friend.I love her to pieces. We did alot of outdoor adventures together (from +30 to -30) , but recently have not had opportunity. Keep living the adventures. Cheers.
I laughed when you slid off your ground cloth several times! ThT would have had me hunting for a tree on level ground!
Very different pitch for you Claire. I remember when you first started. You re come along way baby. (pardon the funny) . Always enjoy your wonderful cheery outlook .
Your editing just gets better and better
years ago on a training mission, the weather turned by very quickly, there was no time to get a shelter. I saw 2 huge pine trees maybe 20 plus feet across. As the leader I hustled us over to them and set up like u did. great video
Thank you for the video, I hope you are not cold!❤️
One of my faves!
