Thanks for the video and techniques for removing vinyl from the cutting sheet. I stopped using vinyl because it kept ripping when I tried to remove it from sheet.
Is there anyway to make your sound louder? I have you turned all the way up and the same on my computer and can barely hear you. I don't have the trouble with other videos. can you help?
Thanks so much for your tips can finally use my scan n cut to full capacity. Im a card making and your welding tips were fab for mat and layer Question: be looking at trying vinyl, but the vinyl sheets I’ve seen are self adhesive. How do u do things with self adhesive? Thanks for your great tips
All vinyl is self adhesive, except heat transfer vinyl. ive got vinyl videos on my channel, you basically only cut through the top layer if you have an auto blade machine there is a half cut facility which is what you need for vinyl. if you search vinyl on my youtube channel you should find videos.
If you stick vinyl on something, use some water mixed with soap and a plastic squeegee. In this case you'll get no air bubbles trapped under the vinyl.
What type(s) of vinyl is best to use? Do they all have an adhesive backing? When does one use transfer tape and when does one use the hot iron to apply?
+Mary Irion commercial grade vinyl will have a backing sheet to the vinyl because the vinyl has a sticky back to it.. once it is cut.. weed out the access vinyl leaving only your design on the backing paper.. then take your tack sheet and cover your design.. when you are ready to put your design on to what every you want.. rub the tack sheet good then pull the tack sheet off of the backing sheet NOT straight up but back on itself as that way you will stretch your design out of shape.. there is special heat transfer vinyl and everything is cut in a reverse style so when heat pressing it on it will face correctly.. it does not require any tack sheet as it has it's own after you weed it.. Hope this helps.. Google commercial grade vinyl supply company's for better info
I would think so I would think it would depend on what you wanted to use it for but if you’ve got some try it do a test cut and see if it works for you, good luck
applelover53 can you make your own files and send it to this just wanted to know what the max cutting space like how big of a image you can cut it at say 12x14 what's the max
the mat has a working cutting area of 12x12 so you will be able to cut just under that, and the 12 x 24 mat you will be able to cut just under that size too.
+Jor Huntie GMA Yes of course, just like normal vinyl, you may need a slightly higher blade depth and if doing text you will need to reverse it as you would put it clear carrier side down. have a look in my playlist I've done a video on cutting vinyl
Cannot remember as its an old video but i will have said in the video. if its vinyl its probably a weeding box, it helps when you are removing the design from the mat
+Marie Poole do a test cut and check to see if it cut right and adjust the pressure.. do not adjust both just do one or the other.. then test cut again.. on my commercial vinyl cutter it is the blade I adjust as I do not have a pressure adjustment..
Thank you for this quick video. 🤩 I’m really excited to try out my new machine.
That video is 10 yrs old, good to know its still helpful thank you. Have fun!
Nice video. That weeding box is a great idea. It makes it easier to weed and saves vinyl.
I enjoyed your video
Can you cut custom designs or is it just the patterns that are already loaded on the machine? Thanks
Yes you can!
Thank You, only tutorial I could find on how to do this.

I’m sorry I cannot help I don’t use a cameo I only use a scanncut and its software
Do you always need the mat to cut for example self adhesive vinyl longer then 61 cm (on a rol). The silhouette can do this but can the brother do it ?
