You’re a good man Casey! I’ve always valued your respect for others - especially the most vulnerable amongst us. Like Frances said... “who am I to judge” and another favorite quote we should all take to heart... “Never judge someone until you've walked a mile in his shoes.” Thanks for your generosity too.
Casey you should make a video of all the times that you have walked back to pick up your camera and like when u walk out of your studio to record yourself walking in. No words.
AWE man I love this story about the man on the train. I have so much empathy than most people and I am sooo happy you said what you said and that you rethought your retweet. You are a hero standing up for those who cant stand up for themselves. Kindness goes a long way.
I get the impression that everything is temporary with Dan. Never a dull moment with that guy! Hope he comes back soon though, he was a huge boon to your channel.
I like Dan a lot, but I'm not sure if I like the chemistry between Dan and Casey. Not a knock against either of them. Both are great, just maybe not great together?
That is an amazing amount of empathy. Thank you a ton for sharing and also for sharing the moment where you decided NOT to retweet. Showing how it's not just okay, but the right thing to do, is to think about an action and how it might affect other people. Great moment.
Not only that, Casey, the man shaving on the subway had already had TWO STROKES previously. That’s trauma to the brain of a homeless man who has had a rough life. Cold hearted people make fun of him.
It’s the same situation with the Geoffrey Owen’s story… on the one hand, people simply don’t think of the consequences of putting something online, thrusting into the limelight someone who may not want to be thrust into the limelight. And they justify it by him being a “public space”, as though that somehow justifies objectifying another human being. The other more cynical side of social media has conditioned people to view other people as a tools for the currency of internet points. Views... tweet... likes... hearts... people justify objectifying others so they can get that rush of going viral, making the front page of Reddit. It’s depressing. I don’t think it’s any different than it has ever been, it’s just more amplified given the pervasive nature of social media. It’s a good message. People should really appreciate that there are real humans behind exploitation for silly Internet points.
King Cozmo wasn’t calling anyone a POS for laughing at it (I didn’t mean to imply it either). I only meant to highlight the fact that people don’t necessarily think twice before posting it to the web... And we all giggle at things that we know we probably shouldn’t giggle at… It’s the leap from giggling to ourselves, to posting it on the Internet so that the entire world can giggle that is one that should cause some pause and reflection :-)
you put so much impact on the world, thanks for sharing about this man. he deserves the best and respect. difference brings attention. people think it's funny bc they have all they ever would want but deep down you always have to think twice.
Super thankful for the subway shaving story. My wife and I promised when we got married not to make jokes at people's expense. Love the way you showed that. You are a great communicator through so many mediums!
he basically "only" donated $2.5k since the shirts were 3 bucks more than his other shirt. therefore $7.5k came from the community! (not to belittle this in anyway! its awesome that he does stuff like this! no matter how much he donates or even if he just brings attention to a cause...)
On Ouchs Wow, you don’t get it. He is charging $30 for this T SHIRT. His other shirt is “on sale” for $19.95. So he is charging $10 more for a shirt (that at 19.95 he is already presumably making money on) and donating only $4. That sounds more like a scam than “an amazing heart”. It seems no matter what Casey does, he must be awesome.
The first Casey Neistat video that made me a fan was his video, “My Girlfriend Candice” The story telling in that video was insane. Ever since I’ve always respected Casey as a film maker. He changed the internet. He changed RUclips. A true Legend
It makes me really happy that you hit 10 Million, you deserve it! :) Also, thanks for highlighting this story and I hope that other youtubers see you as an example of how influence can educate and inspire others.
It’s so easy to just fall into the trend of judging others and we all know how bad it is but have a tendency to allow it to different degrees. I love your honesty about your first reaction to what you saw and realization that you’re no better than that man, just on a different path! Thank you for always keeping it real!

Casey, I’ve watched your channel for over a year. I am a 3rd grade teacher who just handled a class issue of bullying and gossip. I saw this vid, showed the part about you NOT retweeting the viral vid. My class now started today on a negative note and one of my kids said “don’t retweet!” Everyone is now saying this phrase when they hear anything negative or mean! I had a few guest kiddos in my class as well and as soon as they learned this phrase they were on board! WOW I’m thrilled that those few minutes of your message rang true to 44 3rd graders! Cheers to you. MRS. FUN.
Thank you for addressing this. Remember, Great minds discuss ideas, Average minds discuss events and Small minds discuss people. That applies to videoing them as well!
Amazing to see how you just allways stay in that humble rythm, I have to watch motivational videos every morning, or I'll fall back into watching youtube all day and not doing anything for school
I'm so glad you brought up the shaving video. I feel the same way when I see those posts and I know that there's a reason people do what they do, like in his case. but I wish more people could see the same way.. Thank you for sharing that
casey, as a flint native thank you for the donation. you should consider coming and visiting. I would be willing to pay for your flight and pick you up at the flint airport. it could make a great video. thanks again buddy!
the story about the man shaving is so sad. i can never bring myself to just record anyone in public tbh. especially if i don't know how it can effect them if i post it anywhere. i've read stories from real ppl who went viral or became a popular meme and they talked about how it ruined their lives or career..not everyone can handle that type of thing but people these days don't think they just record and post.
Kudos to you Casey for helping in this fundraiser for kids. They are our next generation. To expose them to all the good people out there willing to give to help them says a lot about you and all the faithful people that gave to their cause. It always touches my heart when kids are being helped. Nice work Casey 👍
Our society and the internet as a whole loves to point and laugh. I’m glad Casey brought this up. Hopefully it will make people think twice the next time they see someone being ridiculed. That story is a perfect example of how you can never truly know what someone is going through until you get to know them. It’s not wise to assume something about someone you don’t know. That alone has led to many of the social issues that we all deal with today. And contrary to popular belief, those issues negatively affect all of us. When you perpetuate ignorance and hate, we all lose.
Casey, love your videos. Watching you constantly hustle as helped inspire me to start my own channel and photography business. Keep making awesome videos 👍👌
At the top, that's a subway wash. No wait, that's 'MTA Falls' - NYC's premier water park. Bring your kids and bathing suits! Rats under 3' long ride free.
Ya this is a good message everyone needs to hear. I try and be very careful never to make fun of people. Sometimes it still comes out and I have to apologize.
Smile with Mel unfortunately it wasn’t NY times reported that the person who took video of this made a decent amount in ad revenue and used it to buy a car instead of helping the man
Casey. I started watching your videos a year ago when I got sick. I've learned alot but was sad everytime you ran. Only because a heat stroke chased me to lose my ability to sweat. Now that I've gotten my health back it's super pumps me up to watch your most recent work. I've also made my first vlog since. Thanks!!
The video makes a great point. You have no idea the struggles people may be going through. It's not your place to judge them. Keep up the great work Casey.
Absolutely nothing, just some shitheads filming it and being judgmental hypocrites. I hope the guy gets some extra help. You could tell just from how he was acting that he was having a hard time. People can be so damn cruel.
Well if your from NYC you always see "characters" especially on public transportation and i dont mean homeless i mean just weird people and their equally weird actions. Since this guy is homeless it makes the situation very sad.
It's funny because there are literally no facilities within the seated area to have a wet shave. Not saying it's correct to ridicule someone without having the full story first (and this certainly applies here).
Wow that story about the man shaving has me feeling some sort of way.. really hit hard. Even though we've all heard it a million times, great advice to be repeated -- don't judge. Excellent video as always Casey!
Casey, the judging is for real that's for sure. Since starting my RUclips channel and growing I've seen that more and more now with people judging behind their keyboards. It's pretty sad actually to read some of these comments. However folks like you that still have a heart and promote being kind helps matters tremendously. Always like to use the phrase be kind as someone is going through something you have no clue about. Thanks Casey for the great message
One never knows the struggles each of us humans go through each day...there's a difference between someone being funny and someone who is made fun of! Thanks Casey for teaching us a lesson with this video.
I believe if instead of people filming or making fun of a homeless man they made him a gofundme, gave him a couple bucks or offered him a job the world would be a much better place! =)
Can anyone just start a go fund me for someone else? I'd do it. I think in general we need a big movement to donate to homeless people because winter is approaching and that's always rough for folks on the streets.
I'm homeless and have been forced to fly a sign for food , gas, my dogs care etc. facts are... I'm the only one I know who doesn't use folks money for drugs, pot and/ or alcohol. I'm sober and that's just me. I'm in a capital city and homeless are everywhere and flyers at nearly every corner and many do steal from others and some shoplift. I could write a book on it. most signs that people write are lies. its insane what they get away with. when I was new to it I received 100's of tips how to con people. pretty sickening, eh? I'm always honest what I use money for and many don't care if you spend it on booze etc. my signs usually say "smile" or " anything helps" " out of gas" doesn't work. " anything helps" seems to work best but is a illegal post. but facts are... homeless do receive food stamps. so saying they're hungry may be a lie. I however keep getting declined... I applied 4 times. I get my food by panhandling/ flying a sign and food pantries. pantries are usually horrible. I call it the 10 calorie diet because its usually canned veggies. food poisoning is common from meat. but my getting discriminated so much and so often nobody would hire me no matter what and how qualified I am ... but 2 weeks ago I finally got lucky and got a part time job! woohoo!!! and how do the homeless panhandlers feel about that??? they think I'm nuts because "we" don't need to work. strangers will take care of us... all that bull shit. a car wreck injury got me into this situation and I'm going to get myself out of it now. after I started working word got out about me. hey, I'm embarrassed I've needed to ask others for money but I. not ashamed to admit it. its been my survival. tips for gifts . we love a new clean T-shirt and socks... underwear too. rip the tags off... sharpie marker can be erased with rubbing alcohol so items aren't returned for store credit. homeless are the best liers... they may not need a tent. blankets are usually given by churches. flashlights are good ah.... we get enough soap and water and I think everybody is screaming if we get another pack of crackers and a banana. how about a soda ? most of the time your food and water is thrown out. gift certificate can be sold for 50%. ask if one is hungry first before buying them fast food etc. many times I got enough for 5 meals and noons to give it to. I can go on and on...
I don't know what keeps drawing me in with your content man, but something about your channel is just on point. Just keep doing what you wanna do mang and I'll keep watching
I didn't think it was bad to shave on public transport, but when you look at the video you see him throwing the hair on a ground, instead of on a paper towel or something. He didn't deserve to be ridiculed, but I still think he could've just taken some toilet paper or something to clean it up.
That and couldn't he do that same thing after he got of the train in some alley or next to some trash can or something like that. I'm sure he had his reasons but just a thought for some future public transport shaver wannabes
probably Dan's gonna say, " I'll never forget you bru!!! " if he is not near sea but if he is he'll definitely say " i see a SHARK anyways I'll never forget you bru!!! last time I was here i saw a man suffering from SHARK bite " hehehehe ; )
I saw that video too. and sure, we shouldn't be laughing at people's misfortune, absolutely agree on that. However, if you see the whole video, instead of wiping the razor on a paper towel or something, he flicks shaving cream all over the seat. Also, I am pretty sure there are restrooms on NJT trains, so he could have done it there...
That was my thought too. Why not stop at the public bathroom for 5 minutes before leaving the station? I don't think people would have cared about it so much if he was wiping the mess on a tissue or something. Hardship isn't an excuse for being rude.
Angelique Georges There were also a couple more videos posted under the original tweet that show the guy drinking and hollering on the train. I’m not saying it’s ok to ridicule the guy. No idea what this guys story might be or the type of life he’s lead. But there is more to the story than a poor homeless man shaving on a train.
Why question his action? Why would he have to shave on a public bathroom if he has been homeless and probably hitting or barely dodging rock bottom. He is a man of purpose with a purpose who maybe needed an audience for reactions to be able to get out on the correct terminal and complete his trip to his family. Its easy to throw out a comment
PSN is pretty accurate. I moved to Harlem after living in Texas my whole life. I've always been patient/good with people and I've struggled here a bit. Sucks when my livelihood depends on it (freelance) but the challenge is invigorating. Going out and doing normal things also cost tons of $$$. Sometimes double what I was paying in Austin
i used to live out in long island, its crowded, but it was sick to grow up in. i miss it, its only crowded if you’re a part of the rat rush in manhattan.
I’m 20 years old and i’ve lived in NYC my whole life and it’s not that bad living here honestly. Growing up here does thicken your skin due to the fact that people can be rude here but NYC also has amazing people. Casey has money so it’s easier for him and probably more fun for him since he can literally do anything he wants. It can be tough here but this city is amazing but can be overwhelming sometimes because there’s a lot of people living here.
I’ve never watched Casey much, but seeing him use his platform for such incredible positivity made me gain so much respect for him. He gets a lot of well deserved credit for his quality, it he doesn’t get even close to enough credit for his character.

the story about the man shaving is so sad. i can never bring myself to just record anyone in public tbh. especially if i don't know how it can effect them if i post it anywhere. i've read stories from real ppl who went viral or became a popular meme and they talked about how it ruined their lives or career..not everyone can handle that type of thing but people these days don't think they just record and post.
From wich brand his green jacket??
I need to know this
Neisen alphatauri.. about 250 euros
Where did you get that jacket?
Plz let me know
It’s from the Euro brand called Alphatauri 🙌🏻
kelly saybe thx boo
came to comments to find that. Cool jacket
kelly saybe thx :)
Man I love that rain jacket in the beginning
Film Productions yeah me too, any idea where you can find it?

What brand is that? That logo is weird
I'd love to know too ! Looking good !
Anyone know what kind of jacket Casey is wearing it's really nice and I wanna save up to get one for my BF. c:
You have a kind heart! Thanks for sharing. You never know the whole story and we tend to judge on the basis of what we perceive.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video. Please bring all the awareness you can to ending judgment!
I Didn't know Bushkill Falls moved from Pennsylvania to Penn Station. Finally rafting is available in NYC. Rats under 3' ride for free!
Casey, love your videos. Watching you constantly hustle as helped inspire me to start my own channel and photography business. Keep making awesome videos 👍👌

This is so true Lmfao
great message! i wish more people would follow the rule "if u don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all". mobbing someone is whack.
Ya this is a good message everyone needs to hear. I try and be very careful never to make fun of people. Sometimes it still comes out and I have to apologize.
YES!!! I still watch EVERY Beme video! My most watched news channel!!!
I hope that money gained from monetizing the video of the man shaving on the train is given to him! Thanks for sharing the full story Casey!
Smile with Mel unfortunately it wasn’t NY times reported that the person who took video of this made a decent amount in ad revenue and used it to buy a car instead of helping the man
Donald Duck source?
Great videos Casey you are such an inspiration with all the work you do and inspire me to work hard every day with my youtube channel!
Same!
he really is so inspiring I cant imagine how hard it is to upload this much
Casey is a god
i feel the same way :)
Yes! Absolutely
What's funny about a man shaving in the subway I don't get it
Cruz n the World Perhaps not funny as in ha-ha, but people want to mock him. A shame.
Absolutely nothing, just some shitheads filming it and being judgmental hypocrites. I hope the guy gets some extra help. You could tell just from how he was acting that he was having a hard time. People can be so damn cruel.
That is what I was wondering. I don’t understand why people would even think to film and post it.
I can guarantee you he didn’t say “hey bro” but “hey Bru!” Carry on.😉👍
My brother met you at the beach in Rhode Island and IM SO *JEALOUS*
He lucky
As you should be.
The one in watch hill? There are just so many
Rhode Greece? i hope i meet him at thessaloniki one day!
Haha, no, Rhode island is a state of the US. Hello Greek friend :)
Wow that story about the man shaving has me feeling some sort of way.. really hit hard. Even though we've all heard it a million times, great advice to be repeated -- don't judge. Excellent video as always Casey!
Casey Neistat: Better at predicting the weather than most meteorologists
Casey the type of guy to go for a marathon in the storm😂😇
Yeah!
what company makes that rain jacket?
I'm wondering the same thing! It's so nice!!
Alphatauri
Notification squad. I love the vids bro. Ur my inspiration. 🔥🔥
Yeah well people have started Gofundme accounts for homeless people and then they turn around and steal all the money for themselves
I call it the 10 calorie diet because its usually canned veggies. food poisoning is common from meat.
but my getting discriminated so much and so often nobody would hire me no matter what and how qualified I am ... but 2 weeks ago I finally got lucky and got a part time job! woohoo!!! and how do the homeless panhandlers feel about that??? they think I'm nuts because "we" don't need to work. strangers will take care of us... all that bull shit.
a car wreck injury got me into this situation and I'm going to get myself out of it now. after I started working word got out about me. hey, I'm embarrassed I've needed to ask others for money but I. not ashamed to admit it. its been my survival.
tips for gifts . we love a new clean T-shirt and socks... underwear too. rip the tags off... sharpie marker can be erased with rubbing alcohol so items aren't returned for store credit.
homeless are the best liers... they may not need a tent. blankets are usually given by churches.
flashlights are good
ah.... we get enough soap and water and I think everybody is screaming if we get another pack of crackers and a banana. how about a soda ? most of the time your food and water is thrown out. gift certificate can be sold for 50%.
ask if one is hungry first before buying them fast food etc. many times I got enough for 5 meals and noons to give it to.
I can go on and on...
Dan definitely went back for the legal weed
Cool jacket, anybody know what it is?
I loved hearing the story about the man on the subway... we definitely need to be reminded to think twice before making fun of people.

VERY important message you shared Casey. Thanks for always being a great voice and example to others. Love and light.
The non judgement part really hit me in the place I’m in today. Thanks for sharing.
Amen
This was my first thought as well, it's more so a sanitary issue

Who lives in New York? If so is it cool living the city life, is it like Casey’s vlogs???
Ok thanks, I have only been there once I love on the other side of the country
We need more people with Casey's mindset. I'm so tired of people judging and making fun of people on social media. We all have struggles.
I’ve never watched Casey much, but seeing him use his platform for such incredible positivity made me gain so much respect for him. He gets a lot of well deserved credit for his quality, it he doesn’t get even close to enough credit for his character.
