I’m planning to do a pouring and then use a toothpick to make cells with my daughter. But I’m overloaded with info from all the vids I’ve watched lol. What am I supposed to paint the canvas with before I pour?
The link doesnt work. Do you have a video about cleaning up after painting? Especially regarding the water. How to avoid using much water and what to do with the dirty water. I would really appreciate that. Thanks. Love your videos.
I noticed your sign had said "The first five days after the weekend are the hardest", I have to agree, so I'm sure you've realized that after Tuesday the rest of the week is labeled WTF....😊lol
@8:35 into the video, you talk about plastic sheets. A money saving item is the thin table covers. They are eventually a throw away item, but you can get a lot of use from one sheet. They’re the kind of table cover that are put over potluck dinner gatherings. I tape mine under my studio table and if the pouring mixture gets on them in beautiful colors, I will use the table cover with paint over it to make jewelry. Always looking for a way to save money without compromising a quality painting 🖼 Thanks for your great instructions!
I finally found someone who went over the basics. The information you gave was what I was missing. Thank you very much for making this video. I was using water for my medium but it’s not quite the same when you have an actual fluid that’s compatible with what I’m trying to accomplish. Again. Thanks. ❤
Thank you J Mo for all your help. I am 88 and an artist but relatively new at this pouring. I love it and would be doing this all day if I could. I live in New Zealand and I am sending you my warm regards.
This video is so helpful in the paint pouring groups. Because people come in asking why and how and what. Just sending them a link to this video, which helped me so much, is so handy!! Then the other video about the pouring medium with flotrol and alcohol. I need to find the one about layering paint in the cups for a pour. I think my first success was your traveling cup. I played it and paused it maybe 10 times during the video to get my first acceptable pour. It's all here. People just need to take the time to watch these good informational videos. Thank you so much for being a good teacher and a nice guy. ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
I've been interested in learning how to get started with acrylic pour painting. Your video was the first to show up on the feed. Your title was exactly what I needed, and so was your detailed, simplictic and well informed video. Your video is all I need to get started. Thank you so much your video
The Dollar and twenty five store has those little canvases, 2 smaller sold in pkgs of two. They are the perfect size especially for the beginner as too much paint too soon in learning the process is really scary at times. These little canvases are not treated in any way and if you try to use them as is they will absorb your paint. Too wet and when drying they warp a bit and the colors all appear muddy. I have found that a few coats of white (or black) gesso is great for prepping these little guys.
I took your advice and used my craft paint for my first pours. I used the formula you suggested and it was perfect. I did find a pouring mixture for 11.00 and it included everything I needed at Hobby Lobby. Had I not stuck my finger in testing if it was dry, it wouldve turned out perfect, lol. Thanks for the advice.
@10:40 you talk about getting silicone off the painted area. I have found that putting a light dusting of baby powder or talc on the silicon spots, and the wiping the powder off, it will pick up at least 80 - 90% of the silicon. Then take a damp cloth and wipe the powder off the dried painting. Works very nicely.
I've watched so many acrylic pours, enjoying so many techniques. I want to try it, but there are so many ways to do it. Thanks for providing a basic list to build on.
I do the same Mel. I'm doing a whole bunch of testing this week to find a PM like Fiona's but with USA products. I'll edit and start putting up videos this weekend.
Thank you for sharing affordable supplies and explanation about each of things with the purpose behind the item. I am a beginner in a very tight budget this has help me so, so much. 🙏🙏🙏
sure wish I knew this before I started, about the paint etc. I use my single serve pudding cups to mix etc and I use the silicone baby spoons to mix and then i reuse old cardboard packaging to swipe with. Thanks so much for sharing
I have been wanting to try acrylic pouring and have watched tons of videos. This is the best information for a beginner. Thank you for taking the time to go over all of this.
When I was into alcohol inks I found the basic white tiles were the perfect size to make coasters and when in Home Depot picking up a box of the regular tiles I found a box of little tiles about 2 1/2 or three inches and they are great to make magnets. Great for applying your extra skin type paint.
Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge! Tried a bit a few years ago and life took over! Downloaded your e-book and look forward to a membership as soon as I am all set up! Thanks again! Happy pouring!!!
Ceramic tile is a great item to pour on, and they’re probably a pretty good selling item. I bought a tub of air dry clay, and I make my own titles. I mainly use premixed paints right now, but I’m going to work and get good at mixing my own paints. (Even custom paint colors) I bought a scale for measuring and I have measurement cups. I bought a electric hand mixer to help mix the paints. I have canvases.
Hi J. I'm so glad I found your channel. So cool so helpful-Thank you. I downloaded your Acrylic pouring guide and tips. What am awesome resource you've so kindly put together to share. Great resource I highly recomend it. Of course you've got a new subscriber 😁
Thank you so much, Jo! You are incredibly generous with your knowledge. Have downloaded your recipe book which is jolly helpful. Unfortunately, I am from Zimbabwe and we cannot get a lot of the specialist products, most especially pouring medium items, etc. May I please ask .. my base coat is a shell enamel, but its awfully thick and is cracking badly. Potentially because its very hot here. We cannot get Floetrol, but I import a little bit for the pouring colours. Anyway, if you have any pointers for the base coat house paint, I would be hugely grateful! Thanks Jo, with love from Roxy and the elephants!
Oh My! You out did your self this time. I wished you had done this about 5 months ago lol. Great information! Thank you so much for all that you do Dude. 😊
Thank you so much Jay I appreciate it but I also have another question for you. I saw an ad about a convention in Vegas. I believe in August for all of you artists for pouring and what have you. Do you recommend that for beginners to go to? Would that be a good learning experience or just don’t waste the money and just stick to watching your videos? Which I love watching your videos BTW, and I do learn quite a bit, which is so far so good within reason, lol!!! I told you I might be annoying because I do have one more question and I promise I will be at at this point. When exactly do you have your video up on RUclips in the moment? I love your videos. They’re watching her for a year two and three years ago on the Average, but I would love to watch your videos in the more recent or better yet, at the day of if that’s possible and you’re not too busy to get back to me.😊🤗❤️
Hello, my name is Yvonne and I think you’re fantastic from watching your videos. I am a newbie and loving every second of it. My question for you is can I do this pouring on T-Shirts? If so, what would you recommend for me and how to go about it? I’ve been doing quite a bit of tie-dying, but I would love to be able to put this on a shirt. Although I am going to start doing the canvases as well!?
I new at this and your videos has been helping me. Wondering what kind of Resin that did you use. I could never find a video on how to clean your painting before you put resin on it. Thanks
just a thought you could probably pick up some cheap soft silicone muffin trays and cut them up to use as cups, they should work the same way as your silicone cups.
I didn't know there was a shortage of Floetrol. I live in Iowa, I have found it at home depot, Menards,Lowe's, even in the small town of 2000 people I live in has the quart size. My advice to everyone is to just check your hardware store you never know what you will find.
If you go to a place that sells tiles usually in the industrial neighborhoods, you can get tile that they are actually throwing out for free. That's where I got mine when I was building a platform for my outdoor Mexican oven. You're welcome!!❤️
Hello, I am new to all this . If you can use Elmer's glue can you use modge podge? And if so would you use it the same way as you would use Elmer's glue?
I know this is 3 years old but what's the most cost effective white paint that you use first on your canvas please. Currently binge watching your videos in sunny Queensland Australia.
Thank you for this excellent information. Have a couple of questions: Can you give us a link to your digital scale? Also, do you have a video on how you mixed your paints: tube paint, ready to pour paint like the Artist's Loft? Thanks
Is the minwax wood conditioner you use in your American Floetrol with paint for your cell activator the one that says it is for oil paints? Can you tell me exactly which one it is?
I'm mixing up paints ready to do my first fluid pour and it probably a dumb question but.....Can I make iridescent paints by mixing opaque paint or semi opaque paint with an iridescent medium? And is there any benefit to me mixing micas, pigments or colour shift paint with an Iridescent medium?
There are three things not listed that I don't have: 1. Storage space for supplies. 2. A surface big enough to work on, my %V tray is not big enough unless working on miniature canvases 3. Somewhere to dry the flat and is protected from dust. I share a 12'x12' living space with another person, we can't even stand at the same time.
I took a deep breath and did my first pour today. I used Floetrol and hopefully mixed everything correctly - according to what I've studied. So far, very disappointed. No cells are forming, even after I swiped Floetrol on some of the areas with a pallet knife. Still nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Hi. Your video is to begin the process of pouring acyrlics. Do you have a video that shows what materials you use as a professional?
Link does not work. Please send a new one.
I use an old shower curtain for a drop cloth. I just tape it down to the floor so I don’t slip. It’s a lifesaver. I can hose it off and reuse. ;-)
I reuse my sticks when they dry out. I Use my take out food spoons & forks, to mix & wreck. Paint peels off later.
@8:35 into the video, you talk about plastic sheets. A money saving item is the thin table covers. They are eventually a throw away item, but you can get a lot of use from one sheet. Hi, do you perhaps have a video on the jewelry that you make?
I peel the paint skins off my plastic table cloth and make refrigerator magnets out of them.
I finally found someone who went over the basics. The information you gave was what I was missing. Thank you very much for making this video. This was two years ago, but thank you so much for this video! You really inspired me!
Thank you so much for putting this guide together! It is very useful information. Now I need to learn correct layering with opaque and transparent
Gac 800 is a good additive for thick paint pours or fast drying pours, it keeps the paint from cracking (crazing).
I use it a lot during the summers.
I have been wanting to try acrylic pouring and have watched tons of videos. This is the best information for a beginner. Thank you for taking the time to go over all of this.
Thank you for the tips I enjoy your videos.

How do you take care of your spinner? I see you use foil. How often do you change it out? Do you wash off the paint and reuse the foil?
Wow so amazing art work. 😃
Please stay connected. ☺
Have a great day. 😊
well done, thanks!
I new at this and your videos has been helping me. Wondering what kind of Resin that did you use. I could never find a video on how to clean your painting before you put resin on it.
Thanks
Do you add anything to the pillow paint?
Thanks for this 👍
Thank you ❤

Flood Floetrol 1 gallon at Ace Hardware $17.99...usually in stock!

TOOM@CapeTown
Is the minwax wood conditioner you use in your American Floetrol with paint for your cell activator the one that says it is for oil paints? Can you tell me exactly which one it is?
Your bottles are well shaken; that's good but holding it steady for just a moment would allow to see it and read the label.
Yes you can make it. The iridescent medium makes everything iridescent.
The dollar tree has plastic table covers, too
Yes I use garbage bags then when paint dries I use them. I know I’m cheap
Cornstarch is good to add to cheap paint
Lol, I was watching while painting....I used gloves, I swear...its still all up my arms! 🤣🤣
Can you use the varnish on the tiles to seal them?
Have you tried Temu products? I'd like to start cheap. Without leaving the house.
I'm in Leeds England where will I get all the equipment to enable me to start acrylic pouring please
wait can we do this with poster paints?
@JmoPainting can you please give me the link are the name of your for cleaning up the silicone before adding the resin Please?
I wonder if silicone cupcake liners cheap from Walmart would work as cups???
There are three things not listed that I don't have:

I was planning on dollar tree to start
I don't have a lot of money, so can I use my blow-dryer instead?
How to prepare the basic pouring paint which you use in the very beginning on the canvas and you pour in excess , it must cost v expensive .
How do you know which paints are heavier than others?
Olies plastic gloves 3.00 for 100 gloves. Maybe Big Lots too.
