This was one of the most epic runs I've seen at a GDQ event. So much hype. This is one of the hardest mega man games I've ever played. Definitely a lot harder than MM2. This is my 2nd favorite right behind MM2, the only downside being the frame lag that impacts this game so much. This guy just absolutely destroyed a game that gives me so much trouble lol.
I still come back to this run specifically so I can see that first Gemini stage and boss fight. It still blows me away how Checkers executed all of that and kept such insane composure. Probably one of the best GDQ runs in history!!
fightwatcher07 The NES and SNES controllers have different plugs, but are electrically compatible. Basically, you can either make a really simple adapter (no logic board, just wires connecting to a SNES socket and NES plug on the adapter), or cable swap two controllers for a more permanent job.
I noticed that too. I saw in an early GCCX episode where Shinya Arino interviewed the man (only known as Kuboken-san) who owned all 1,0xx Famicom carts had a heap of systems, one of which he modded to accept SNES controllers in the front because that particular FC's gamepads were wore out, so apparently it's doable.

Brilliant speed run - playing Gemini Man as the first level? I bow down to your awesomeness good sir!
Question: You show the "Top Glitch" in Wily 3, but I'm wondering why it's not used on Shadow Man or the second phase of Gamma.
Checkers face looks exactly like mine, that and caleb harts face are alike. Do I have some unknown twin brothers out there? :o
Pretty sweet run.
Nice 👏
how is he using a SNES controller? This game isn't on the SNES

Holy shoot the way he killed gemini man
Yeah, that's a cool trick where you take advantage of the fact that the two Gemini men have their own separate i-frames.

6:34 shouldn't that be a big penguin instead?
Yes. This bug happens when you bug through the Protoman scene and the music gets cancelled.
@@Yakushii I got it! Thanks for the explanation :)
