We lost the 1962 war coz of our first PM Nehru. He said India is a peaceful country hence we don't need an army and when Chinese troops barged in we were not prepared. He did not make mistakes but made blunders. Our defense forces were always strong and had a remarkable contribution in WW2 under British rule.

We are lucky to have India as a friend, especially for all they've done for us during our liberation war of 1971. Russia wasn't mentioned in the list of allies. India will definitely win. Just look at the videos of their spec ops training. They can fight on any form of terrain necessary. I'd forgotten about Jaby's tendency of talking about ex-gfs.
Even though Chinese have massive number of soldiers, they are in conflict with various countries bordering them mostly to it's east (Hongkong,Taiwan, South China Sea etc). Where as Indian military is all focused in the North ( Pakistan and China). Practicing all through out the year in that terrain mostly gives us the edge.
*in the recent CHINA - INDIA border skirmish. The CHINESE soldiers couldn't face the harsh cold weather. They have to be rotated in shifts & required Room heaters to keep themselves warm. Jaby if we talk about allies, At the time of standoff between India and Chinese soldiers France sent it's Rafle jet before the expected delivery time. Yes they haven't delivered all the jet but still it's a message from France that we are also standing for you.
A few points not mentioned in the video- 1) For land forces, defence is 2 to 3 times easier than offence and in mountainous terrain, defence is 5 to 9 times easier than offence. It means that in plains, you need an offensive force 2-3 times bigger than the defensive force and in mountainous terrain it should be 5-9 times bigger. In mountainous terrain, achieving air superiority i.e. total control of skies is also very difficult because neutralising threat from anti-aircraft weapons hidden in mountains is very difficult. Example- Afghanistan is called ‘a graveyard of empires’ mainly because of its mountainous terrain where guerrilla warfare is very easy. In a nut shell, India can easily defend herself against China. 2) Chinese air force suffers a disadvantage of operating from high altitude airfields in occupied Tibet. Plus, China cannot deploy even 1/4 of its airforce in this region called roof of the world where average altitude around 11,000 feet above sea level. In contrast, most of Indian Air Force bases are located in plains and India can divert more than half of its air power against China. 3) Though, India can easily defend herself (without even using nukes) but even if China eventually defeats India (in a conventional war) then such a war would weaken China very much both economically and militarily (even if it does not come to exchange of nukes). Militarily, Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was no match to the US but yet the US had to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on second Gulf War to defeat Saddam Hussein (when Bush Jr. waged war to hunt for imaginary WMDs). China shall have to spend at least a couple of trillions. On top of that, India is not even China’s main adversary or competitor. Both economically and militarily, China views itself in comparison to the United States. A war with India shall reduce China’s stature vis-a-vis USA by many notches (even if nukes are not involved). That is why India chooses not to attack Pakistan despite Pakistan sponsoring Islamic terrorism and aiding secessionist forces inside India. 4) China has nothing much to gain in war with India. Even if China conquers what it wants i.e. some parts of Ladakh and most of Arunachal, then these area are not prosperous at all. So reducing one’s strength for some poor mountainous territory is not worth risking a nuclear war. Capturing Arunachal Pradesh (called South Tibet by the Chinese) and some parts of Eastern Ladakh might be on China’s agenda but not on the top of their list. If they have half the sense, then they would try to attack and integrate Taiwan first because that’s a much more prosperous region than India’s Himalayan region and Taiwan’s military is much weaker than India’s. So, if China is to attack someone first with its full might intact, then that has to be Taiwan. A war with India before integrating Taiwan might render China unfit for a war to integrate Taiwan for many decades to come.

When china attracted Vietnam, Vietnam army was already engaged in Cambodia. It has to noted that Vietnamese paramilitary force defeated china and not its regular army.

China have to keep his every enemy in mind while buying/making any defense, like USA, Japan, South China Sea nations, Australia, etc. 2. Even if china came with submarines, we have P8I plane and Romeo helicopters from USA which are submarine hunters. Also, we have lot of submarine hunting ships. 4. China, on paper, have numerical advantage in almost every weapon. But its every weapon is out dated and not maintained. While India have very few old weapons, but all of them are still well maintained. 5. China have to keep his some military and air force and full navy in South China sea to counter enemies who may come to attack China, helping India. 6. Russia is biggest friend of China, but so as for India. He is likely to stand in middle helping no one. China will be left with his other friends who are weak (minor countries).

Fun fact: One of the main reasons why India underestimated the Chinese army's power was due to the commander(who was calling the shots) being inexperienced(which is because he had risen through the ranks due to nepotism) and this commander issued a series of very bad commands which in addition to the disadvantage in numbers lead to the loss.

We lost the 1962 war coz of our first PM Nehru. He said India is a peaceful country hence we don't need an army and when Chinese troops barged in we were not prepared. Even though Chinese have massive number of soldiers, they are in conflict with various countries bordering them mostly to it's east (Hongkong,Taiwan, South China Sea etc).
Where as Indian military is all focused in the North ( Pakistan and China).

A few points not mentioned in the video-
1) For land forces, defence is 2 to 3 times easier than offence and in mountainous terrain, defence is 5 to 9 times easier than offence. It means that in plains, you need an offensive force 2-3 times bigger than the defensive force and in mountainous terrain it should be 5-9 times bigger. In mountainous terrain, achieving air superiority i.e. total control of skies is also very difficult because neutralising threat from anti-aircraft weapons hidden in mountains is very difficult. Example- Afghanistan is called ‘a graveyard of empires’ mainly because of its mountainous terrain where guerrilla warfare is very easy. In a nut shell, India can easily defend herself against China.
2) Chinese air force suffers a disadvantage of operating from high altitude airfields in occupied Tibet. Plus, China cannot deploy even 1/4 of its airforce in this region called roof of the world where average altitude around 11,000 feet above sea level. In contrast, most of Indian Air Force bases are located in plains and India can divert more than half of its air power against China.
3) Though, India can easily defend herself (without even using nukes) but even if China eventually defeats India (in a conventional war) then such a war would weaken China very much both economically and militarily (even if it does not come to exchange of nukes). Militarily, Saddam Hussein’s Iraq was no match to the US but yet the US had to spend hundreds of billions of dollars on second Gulf War to defeat Saddam Hussein (when Bush Jr. waged war to hunt for imaginary WMDs). China shall have to spend at least a couple of trillions. On top of that, India is not even China’s main adversary or competitor. Both economically and militarily, China views itself in comparison to the United States. A war with India shall reduce China’s stature vis-a-vis USA by many notches (even if nukes are not involved). That is why India chooses not to attack Pakistan despite Pakistan sponsoring Islamic terrorism and aiding secessionist forces inside India.
4) China has nothing much to gain in war with India. Even if China conquers what it wants i.e. some parts of Ladakh and most of Arunachal, then these area are not prosperous at all. So reducing one’s strength for some poor mountainous territory is not worth risking a nuclear war. Capturing Arunachal Pradesh (called South Tibet by the Chinese) and some parts of Eastern Ladakh might be on China’s agenda but not on the top of their list. If they have half the sense, then they would try to attack and integrate Taiwan first because that’s a much more prosperous region than India’s Himalayan region and Taiwan’s military is much weaker than India’s. So, if China is to attack someone first with its full might intact, then that has to be Taiwan. A war with India before integrating Taiwan might render China unfit for a war to integrate Taiwan for many decades to come.

1. When Indian pilots with inferior planes destroyed technologically superior ones.
2. When China and India clashed recently and 32 Indian soldiers killed 50+ Chinese soldiers. The Chinese came with melee weapons while the Indians were unarmed.

Reasons -
1. China have to keep his every enemy in mind while buying/making any defense, like USA, Japan, South China Sea nations, Australia, etc.
2. Our borders are surrounded by Himalayas (12000 ft+) and at such height, most of Chinese weapons doesn't work, while India buys/make weapons only keeping China in mind (cuz 2nd enemy, Pakistan gets old weapons of China) giving us massive advantage.
3. Even if china came with submarines, we have P8I plane and Romeo helicopters from USA which are submarine hunters. Also, we have lot of submarine hunting ships.
4. China, on paper, have numerical advantage in almost every weapon. But its every weapon is out dated and not maintained. While India have very few old weapons, but all of them are still well maintained.
5. China have to keep his some military and air force and full navy in South China sea to counter enemies who may come to attack China, helping India.
6. Russia is biggest friend of China, but so as for India. He is likely to stand in middle helping no one. China will be left with his other friends who are weak (minor countries).
