i don't know what it is about this game, but i agree. There is something that hooks you. It's everything about it really. I feel really drawn to it. Maybe it's a mindflayer.
the Composer was goddamn inspired, there are some telling similarities with some of the most popular BGii soundtracks but also top hits in certain kinds of popular music.
I'm in act 3 rn, and whenever I go to camp and hear this music, I begin miss how much more simple act 1 was The adventure had just begun, you found your companions, and all of you were ready to go look for the cure. You're not quite friends yet, but slowly, you're starting to get to know each other
game of the decade. There won't ever be a game like this for a long, long time. I had taken my time in my first playthrough but boy do I wish it had lasted longer.
I just finished Act 1, and started Act 2. I'm amazed at the game. I will re-play it a lot of times, with different characters and choices. It's that good.
what's the best replays to do? im in act 1 of my first playthrough and i'm already scared of it ending haha. i know i can do a durge run, and maybe origin runs?.@@Gigan_Revan
I love this melody! It's both hopeless and hopeful at the same time. You life feels both on a knife's edge and calmed by your nearby friends. How did they do that?
This is such a perfect description. The chords he uses give me feelings of curiosity with melancholic nostalgia. Such a unique sound that I love painfully much.
the song is called “i want to live” but it’s the instrumental music:) if you want the one with voices go in the camp they show here behind Astarions tent (on the rock) the one with voices will start (but you have to stay there for the voiced music)
i would say the story that plays out while you hear these songs largely adds weight to the music especially how bg3 ques them so effectively. any party member story with the music is impactful
If you're not petting scratch everytime you see him, you're playing this game wrong. 45hrs in with my cousins, having the best time. Really sad when this will be all over!
That moment after passing into act 3 and you are at camp over looking baldurs gate at night and this song comes on, I truly felt like i was part of the game then.
I already miss this game. I loved it so much, I can't bring myself to got through it again and get different outcomes. What a fantastic experience....easily my favourite Baldurs Gate title.
@@Danileptic I was the same with Dragon Age Origins...only ever played it the once, but I loved it so much and how it ended that I couldn't bring myself to do it over again, even if it wasn't a happy ending. Both games are masterpieces.
The feels of this tracks… it touches my soul to the core. Nostalgic, hope, sadness, love… it covers it all. Also sweet scene in the background like, your companions awaiting you patiently at camp wanting to be part of your adventures. Knowing you come back and they stand by you. Love the fact that all of them would have never been friends without that tadpod. Also can say how different we all can be and uniting for a common cause its what the world needs to learn from this to be more united.
It's that passage at 43:50 that sounds like gazing up at the stars in the darkest hours of night and pondering everything that has happened, wondering where it is all going... this game is a masterpiece. So much nuance.
I'm on my... fourth playthrough? Almost 700 hours. This game is nestled deep within my heart and will always stick with me. Who knows when the inevitable day will come when I finally put it down for good. But gods know I'll cherish this one forever.
This game was and still is truly historic and it blows my mind that more studios in the industry dont want to take notice of just how good this game is and the example that it sets. If the publishers are hands off, if the devs are allowed to make the game they envision and dont push for monetization for EVERYTHING, if the devs are given a reasonable amount of time and take in player feedback that is constructive, games like this wouldnt be "An anomaly" like the other studios want us to believe. This is what games used to be like, a complete game on release, what we paid for. Larian right now, has my money with whatever they do next. This was a game made with love for the players by a great studio.
I dreaded needing to go to camp to switch out party members and spending so much time doing inventory management or switching out character builds/classes. Thankfully the soundtrack was a major banger. Having finished the game after spending hundreds of hours on it, listening to the camp songs feels so nostalgic and calming.
I listened to the song at 4:39 so many times. It's so peaceful and calming, definitely my favorite one. Name of the song is Wash My Pain Away which can be found on Borislav Slavov's youtube channel.
The soft whistle of a tune, like a breath of calmness. The camp is that most of the time, where you can simply put down your wepons, and listen to the nights....
I can't seem to find the song that starts at 45:40 anywhere. I really loved it when we were at the Shadowlands and Astarion gently tried to persuade me to take control... 😫 Forever burned in my mind, absolutely fantastic game with an epic ost. 🖤
I need this video every single night if I want to relax and sleep quickly. Since many years, I need some relax music or sounds (like rain), and now this video is one of my fav. Thank you very much ❤❤
People talk about the whole nostalgia thing being present even though the game came out recently. I think it is more to do with the fact that we create and play our own character for the game. This is OUR character and OUR story where we make OUR own decisions that impact us all in different ways depending on our character and choices in the past. It is very rare or even impossible for someone to have played this game and to have had the exact same outcomes as you throughout. It very much become OUR own story that was unique to each of us differently.
There is a really cool zombie game I like on PC called “Dead State” and this music kind of reminds me of the song that plays when your safe in your base.
This game has not even been out a month and yet this still seems so nostalgic and deeply apart of me.
Thats all the memories you already made playing it :) felt the same listening

@@bubean Good writing.
And Act 3 has the Song of Balduran playing in "camp." It's such a wonderful contrast
Act 3, defeated Gortash & Orin, but still looking for cure

If you're looking for another fun adventure not really RPG though but one with a great story. Plague Tale Innocence, then Plague Tale Requiem.
Until Divinity Original Sin 3
@@Scrabpie I'm not sure. Larian's games have always had good gameplay, but middling writing--except for BG3, which is great all around.
I put this on my TV in my living room and my puppy is obsessed with watching Scratch walk around the camp!

I'm officialy studying to this and pretending like I am an adventurer on a quest, doing research in camp.
Same, writing my final dissertation to this on repeat.
@@tinglydingle i pray for your brilliant output of a dissertation. but first, kill Cazador!!!
16:47 is my fav. 'I want to live - acoustic instrumental' :) so peaceful.
Thanks
It will never not remind me of Shadowheart

Scratch AND Owlbear Cub.
Petting Scratch at least once an in-game day and throwing ball to him is the law. He is the best boy

Seeing Scratch and the Owlbear Cub playing with each other with this music playing is wholesome.

yup, thats the one
nope, came here for the first (0:00) and second (4:39) song. but nice try
Yes. Yes, I was.
Thank you!
4:39 and 25:10 There it is, the camp ambience that is a piano cover of the mountain pass theme. Beautiful track that I can't find anywhere else.
THANK YOU!!!!!
I went through all the soundtracks available on youtube and I couldn't find this one.
25:10 the best
The name of a song is "Wash My Pain Away". One of my favourite tracks from the game ;-;

Its both nostalgic and present in the moment. It feels like a soft moment and the hardest moment. I love this melody so much
Baldurs Gate 3 is truly a generational game imo. When I first heard the campfire music, I knew this game was going to be special.
I'm so glad there's no needless rain sounds or firecrackling added to this
8:21 is the most stirring epic part imo
This music makes my pain stop. Thank you. I cannot say it enough, thank you.
