I highly recomend the spector mission it just is more fun to play overall having played both missions myself.

I agree, breakout is the much more fun mission in this! (though ghost of a chance is the more challenging)
I always felt bad about betraying Tosh whenever I played the Nova mission. I mean he is not a nice guy but he is a bro. Also going spector means playing a full mission whereas going nova is just a hero mission.
The Unit is the exact same either way, for Ghost vs Spectre! So do the Spectre Mission for a change!

You unlock the same units, but New Folsom lets you play with the super special mercenary instead of the normal unit. Absolutely worth it.
you unlock the same unit regardless of the mission you play. So pick whatever and play the other one though the archives (folsom is better imo)
Get to rank 5 with *SPOILER* and have him/her use the shotgun. MF turns into the Flash.
I think a big part of the Blackhammer's offensive value is the 20% (or was it 25%) damage reduction aura it gives via that upgrade. That breaks so many thresholds and adds an additional shot to kill (or multiple additional shots to kill) for a lot of units, which in turn makes healing (like medic healing) a lot more powerful. A Blackhammer supporting a Bio-based Royal Guard army would give it a LOT more survivability.

Lets also not forget that Hercules when destroyed, unlike medivac, unloads all of its units. So destroying it doesnt actually really helps.

Breakout is easily the more fun mission as there is no difference with what royal guard you unlock.

Seeing the thors in action makes me think how awesome it would be if someone was working on a SABRE Wings of Liberty mod. (and HOTS and LOV)
1 of the mods you can pick for regular multiplayer matches is the SABRE mod which basically makes every unit have the best stats they ever had from campaign/ladder/co-op and gives the unit all of the unit variant unique abilities.
So for example, Immortals have the best Shadow Cannon ability, the best barrier ability, the vanguard's attack but the best immortal attack speed, ect...
Zerglings are Raptorlings and Swarmlings with all 3 of the mutations you can pick from the campaign
Marines have railguns, extra range, the best marine variant health, ect...
I think it would be absolute chaos/fun to play with them as well as going against them.
I think it would suck to play as Terran in those matchups lmao. Does that mean a Zealot would have charge, whirlwind, a stun, a cloak, and reconstruction?

Terrans get some pretty crazy stuff too since it combines some mengsk, swann, and nova units.
Triple Snipe Emperor Shadows, Aegis Guards with super stim, mag rails and increased range, Shock Divisions with Jump Jets and Spider mines, ect...

I spent hours learning how to count again, just to be sure this egregious error will never occur again. I can only hope it was enough to atone for the weight of my sins.

The unit is the same either mission you go, the nova mission is basically unchanged, but the "tosh" mission has big changes so i recomend the tosh/sepcter mission over the ghost one
I think the reason you didn't melt the hercules as fast as you thought you would is cause when you pop them they auto drop their units so the targeting changes allowing the others to get farther than you expect. Also Specter mission
GRANT! Go to the Spectre mission. Both missions grant the same unit and same merc. The Nova mission is largely unchanged. The Tosh mission lets you use the merc unit you get and they are amazing.
Secret mission first, just finish what you started, who knows, maybe there is something special there.

Speaking of trooper upgrades - they do work on Zerg reinforcements. Also, for some reason, they scale better than normal - say, instead of +1 damage, they get +1.2 and so on (don't remember exact numbers). Obviously, they're still just cannon fodder, but it's something extra to consider.
Maybe first 3 levels they maybe but 4 or 5 they are the steam rollers.
But trooper upgrades are best if you build for it. Reduce trooper cost to 5 minerals, get merchant of death to reduce gun cost to 100 minerals and turn the troopers into mininukes on death, then just build a LOT of recruitment centers and flood the map like evil stukov.

You should know that the options for reinforcements in Piercing the Shroud are bugged, so incase you go on that mission, here are the options
8 Marines - 8 Troopers (I think, Can’t remember the amount or if they have guns)
4 Firebats - 1 Prometheus Company
3 Marauders - 1 Aegis Guard
3 Marines, 3 Medics - 1 Field Response Theta

Grant getting Blackhammers is gonna shake up this whole campaign with each of their steps. And the Odin having the ability to scale cliffs is so cool.
I always forget which is which, but side with Nova! She deserves a little more love! Also, let's first finish the secret quest line. I always enjoy seeing how modders change or adjust it. Maybe they will give access to a special zerg unit that Mengsk was developing. Similar to the special stalkers in the zerg crew mod.

The comination of a Shock Division, a Blackhammer in Overwatch mode, and two bunkers filled with LMGs and Rocket Launches is nearly unbreakable defense in this mod. It's beautiful.
3:43 - Odin cliffwalked couple of times in previous mission, but Grant in all his outstanding and unmatched attentiveness didnt notice that.
I suggest going for the spectre. I don't know what the modder did to the missions, but from Co-Op we already know what Mengsk's Ghosts do. So I'm looking forward to this interpretation of the spectre.
They are not in. Mission gives Nova as "merc" ( but full nova covert ops gear access granted)

I freaking love this mod. It might be my favorite spin on nightmare yet. Does anyone know how much of this is just 1:1 bring mengsk coop into the campaign, or was there a lot of edits done to it? I would LOVE more coop commander faction campaigns. I enjoyed the zeratul one a lot too.
Big interest in the Specter mission! Also at 18:15, are those walls breakable at the bottom left? Never noticed that before and it reads as something hidden that can be broken through? Probably not because of the proximity to the edge of the map but it caught my eye

Ok I have an idea, so while we might not be able to get the Earth Splitter Ordinance for Smash and Grab, We could do the next best thing: We use the Blackhammers we got from this mission to force a stalemate between the Zerg and Protoss on Smash and Grab while we build up the necessary Minerals and Gas to build the Odin, the Archangel, and whatever Super Unit we get from Break out and use those to roll through the Zerg Base.
Two Siege Tanks and a Blackhammer, plus a bunch of supply bunkers on All-In sounds amazing oh my god.
Also, always go Spectres, they only show up so often y'know?

Hercules transport ships drops units on the death of the transport ship. You'll notice the units that came out where already damaged. @23:30

Also, hero for secret missionis not a warbot. Like, absolutely definitely not a warbot. But it is so much better and more fun. I always wondered how the hell mod author made that work so smoothly.

Am I remembering correctly that the mod said one of the two armory upgrades that works is the command center one that gives you scan? You might want to grab that one for detection if it's available, since we're seeing more and more sneaky boys in these missions.

I'm voting for the ghosts. Specters are cool and all, but ghosts are the best. In style, age (sc 1) and I think the mod's version of them could be quite nice.

May want to upgrade the AI for the Zerg to not try to attack objects they can't reach. A lot of Zerg got caught on the missile turrets up high that they have no means to see or get to.

I feel the cliff walking is less about cheese potential and more pathfinding QOL. This level is designed for Odin, most aren't. I'm not even sure if he can path through all the ramps(and the corridor the ramps are connected to) in all other levels. Cliffwalking greatly improve his likely otherwise lumbering traversal.

You get the Co-Op Mengsk Ghost version no matter which mission you do so I'd recommend the Spectre mission, personally I find it more fun
I would really like the spectre mission when we get there, which it looks like will be up next, but I'd also like to see the secret mission next

Just want to point out that lore wise, it really should be Ghost. The Specters are a breakaway group, while the Ghost is unit from the Dominion army.
I wanna see the Blackhammer vs Zerg, I think the Blackhammer is exclusively an anti Zerg weapon, specifically against Mutalisks. I'm quite confident this thing is literally just a Mutalisk delete button. I think it'd also be a really good Anti Broodlord unit because I don't think Broodlords can actually kill it with the Shields. It probably won't kill a Broodlord but a Broodlord will never get past it. It might also delete Carrier Interceptors and just leave Carriers as useless floating boats which is also a really cool use.

Question about and maybe a helpful idea for the Blackhammers. Will a fully leveled/upgraded Blackhammer have the siege range to protect your mineral line from the air raids in All In? Or will it be a range or two short.
Something quite ironic in Mensk saying "This is the final answer to the Zerg threat" as Mensk actively uses them in combat
Go for Spectres! Mengsk already has Ghosts in the "Emperors Shadow" unit, So I want to see what the Specter is like!

The blackhammer has like the 3rd highest anti ground DPS in the entire game, barring hero units. It's competition is raid liberators and i think stim aegis guard. It's rather a lot of damage at base, a good chunk extra per rank, with 2 attacks.

I for one would really like to see you max out your imperial mandate on one of these missions - if I remember the tooltip right, the scaling stops at 2000, right?
And to not put too much into the vote text separate second comment here, i really wonder how the attack speed upgrade affects other units, like we have not seen the marine man in a bit, probably for good reason, but the attack speed could be really funny on them. I think the vikings actually would get massive value from it, though i have not played this mod, i know in Co-op they get a big bonus vs massive units, which with the attack speed upgrade, if it is the same can just melt some units id imagine.

Having seen the imperial ghost version in sc2 co-op; I'm much more excited to see the imperial version of the specters.
Spectre mission is the more fun mission imo. Definitely recommend that one.
