This is the next tuning I wanna work on, after being in standard for all my life I finally dived into FACGCE and have been loving it
I’m in the same boat man, I can’t believe I’ve been so blind to these beautiful tunings
how do i tune it differently?
Same here. I’m self taught for the most part- and for the past 15 years I’ve just stuck to standard- and drop D, and was always intimidated by alternate tunings because my theory is shaky, but I’m branching out finally and finding all these cool new sounds I can make but I’ll always be the most comfortable in standard- i know where everything is and how it works haha
@@azariahsimpson709 for this tuning- youre gonna tune your low E to D, keep the A where it is, Tune The D to E, Tune the G to A, The B to C#, and keep the high E where it is.
You can either use a tuner app that has alternating tuning modes and choose daec#e but those you usually have to pay for- or you can find a free app or tuner that has manual mode or pitch tones- sometimes find it easiest if you have a piano or keyboard handy to just match the tones to that by ear.
@@roundPrincedo it! I’ve been playing solely on alt tunings now for about 2 years and wish I started sooner but it always seemed like it would be learning guitar over again and didn’t wanna have to constantly change tuning and set ups but now I got a guitar for each of my 3 most used tunings to keep it simple
This tuning is wonderful! Most of my guitars tend to stay in this tuning.
Sounds like memories of a late night snowstorm. Bringing me back to different times
My prs stays in this tuning, it’s so angelic and relaxing
easily my favorite tuning to play in. so fun and easy to noodle around and write midwest emo riffs
My 70s Tele is permanently tuned to DAEAC#E
Best tuning
Do you play the same chord shapes and they sound 'better' or do you have to learn different shapes on these tunings?
@@patientswim6888 Mostly different chord shapes. What I did to learn it was play around on the pentatonic and figure out shapes based on hearing. Though I'm not vey well familiar with much theory I'm sure would make learning it much easier
@@fendertelecaster8409 hey thanks for responding, appreciate your insight
holy fuck this tone is phenomenal
He is the master of tone
'sometimes jealous for not investing on a telecaster instead of a strat
I have a Tele type guitar, and I'm sometimes the opposite- the Strat is used a lot in funk guitar videos, and its tone is amazing for that kind of playing, which the Tele can't really match xD
This has to be one of the most beautiful guitar tones I've ever heard - simply breathtaking 🥹
Reminds me of Waking up Never Felt so Dizzy by Marietta. Love it
I just took my Tele to test that riff and God this is soo good... I would love to get the tab! I will try to do it by hear then
It's a shame that EADGBE is the dominant tuning taught. There is so much more potential for innovation if other tunings became mainstream.
Honestly this. I think a lot more people would continue playing instead of giving up if this was the accepted norm. Learning other tunings first really helped me click into learning standard which I just couldn’t enjoy.
First bit sounds like Hole - Malibu but janglemo
My fav tuning... it twinkles AF !
Damn sounds so nice I’d love some riffs in open d/ open c# probably my favourite emo tuning
Great
I'm not a musician, but I have a weird mind that likes to think in patterns, and in researching music (particularly intervals and tunings) and then doing a bit of "math" I'm curious about something. DAE-CGD low-high (with the C lower than the E, however) tuning for guitar. Two sets of perfect fifths, offset/overlapped by a major third, with both the lowest and highest strings being the same note, but several octaves apart, for parity.
I just uploaded my first riff in this tuning, but I feel like I have trouble structuring songs. It would be really helpful to see a tutorial on song structure, specifically for math rock/midwest emo. It's hard for me to write a part for a particular section, like writing a chorus vs a verse for some reason. Pop songs are really easy for me to quickly identify the sections, but for whatever reason it's harder for me with more mathy stuff. Thanks for all your tips!
Sounds like a covet song, nice!
Beautiful AF = As FACGCE
DAEAC#E is my standard tuning
this is so pretty
Super dope man
this sounds like something ive known all my life
this sounds like a really cool anime opening !!!
Now to get a capo... Meh.
