This thing is STILL going strong. 13 years after release. Technically ancient in terms of hardware but still holds up excellently.
Still think the VITA is one of the best handhelds ever made do this date, bought the OLED 1000 model from day 1 and still use it to this day

It definitely is one of the best handheld games systems I wish that they would have made the memory cards more affordable and gave its own exclusives like a GTA call of duty with zombies some more action adventure games more fighting games like dragon Ball Z I think it would have did really well I think it honestly would have been able to compete with the switch

I got physical copys of basically all the vita games used to get em cheap from ebay and gamestop when no one really wanted em lol

I scored the PCH 1004 a while ago off of local ads, it came with 10 games (AC3, Uncharted, Killzone, Silent Hill & others) for around 120€. Bought a few accesories & SD cards and it has become my favourite retro device. If i compare it with most chinese handhelds it is competitive in price, on average i see used ones (in good condition) pop up for around 80-100€

I have both version i just use the slim because of the micro usb charging port plus the blue version of it is one of my favorite colors
Totally agree I actually have two ps vitas a Japanese oled in red and a modded slim 2000 that I got from eBay
I will never understand why Sony didn't support ps vita like the old psp and basically let it die forgotten. It was really an awesome console at time. I got 9ne from ebay first model fully hacked and it is nice even nowadays. And I still got mine bought day one untouched.
Yeah I still use my oled 1000 vita such a shame that Sony just gave up on it, it could have been so much more.................
You can mod your psvita to increase restoration and image sharpness

The now expensive Hori grip for the 2000 model is the best Vita setup, in my opinion. The touchpad on the back can be enabled in RetroArch & the Hori grip adds the missing L2, L3, R2, & R3 buttons leveraging the touchpad on the back of the Vita. I've only seen Chinese knockoffs for the 1000 model.
There are ones for the 2000 model too
I like the matte finish of the slim Vita but I’ve always stuck to the 1000 models for that great OLED screen 👌
I got this model PS Vita in 2013 for $1 Cdn at my local EB Games/Game Stop after trading in my PS Vita 1000 model, my 3DS XL and some PS4 Games. It still runs pretty good, no issues but the wear and there is as i have the aqua one and never put a case on it as i always had a carrying bag to put it in

Bought a Slim this summer, hacked it, put a 400 Gb SD card in, and made the ultimate retro JRPG mashine out of it.

Man I miss my PS Vita. I dropped water on it and it forever ruined the battery. At one point a target near me clearanced all vita games and then super clearances the prices. Found mvc3 for 3 bucks, mgs collection for 8. So many other games, all the games you would want at similar prices. Bought all of them. Great handheld. Would of loved to get a slim

Theres a software to improve psvita slim screen (not as vivid as an oled) but the improvemenets is huge, u need to fist install henkaku

wonderful product! I bought the day one edition with OLED screen. Fully satisfied but I'm definitely disappointed with sony to have dismissed it. it could have and still can give a lot in many way especially with PS Now that does not required hardware at all. I hope they will back to it.

I had to buy one second hand front side very amazing back unfortunately has some scratches, but you can buy a broken one and replace the shell from what ive been reading.
I have de psvita 1000. A very goog device but I find that it has not so great games. PSP was far better concerning the gaming library. Still have th PSP Go today.
I have a PS Vita Slim with 16gb memory card and PSP 2000 and PSP 3000.
I didn't buy PSP Go for the fact it uses propietary memory card and charger and it doesn't uses micro sd card .
I have all the PS1 and GBA, SNES, NES, Sega Genesis, N64 and Atari games on my PSP 2000 with 128gb micro sd card and on my PSP 3000 I have all the PSP iso I love it great little handheld devices for gaming on the go!

I would say that the cost of games don’t matter as you can mod/jailbreak it
I prefer the slim because the d pad is better, you don’t deal with proprietary usb cables, the special editions and neon Japanese versions look damn sexy but most importantly I prefer it’s consistency there’s so many posts about burn ins on the OLED screen because it’s an early OLED screen and it’s very prone to failure and replacing it is very expensive
this is my opinion. 1.i personally prefer the dpad on the oled 2. i really like the originals cable its very sturdy 3. burn in on my older model isnt that bad and personally its so worth having a little burn in for that amazing screen
I had both models and im half on both ive never had burn in issues but ive never really cared about oled i never really saw a difference only when taking a picture of the screen is when i saw barely any noticeable difference i like how stiff the old charger clicks in there but if you lose it its a gigantic pain in the ass and the slim has a better battery but the rear touch pad looks less cool but it has an extra gigabyte idk im half on both Theyre both really cool the first might be a little cooler looking in the hands but the slim might be better
I have the fat PSP because of the better OLED-Display.
They should have just put 16GB internal storage on the slim and it could have turned things around for this great system.

Years before its discontinuation, it was already treated like a sort of obscure/rare/hard to get machine. The games don't seem difficult to find (obviously, as it's a fairly recent system) but prices are already out of control. Library seems to have less variety than other handhelds. It must be a fantastic machine, but an easy pass for me.

I adore my ps vita phat and it adores me.
I've got two vita oleds but wish I had the lcd. It just looks better. Too much detail is lost in the darker colors with the oled, and it just strains my eyes

In my opinion the PS Vita would do well if it did these things such as:
It was built like the Slim model without OLED screen (I know some of you going to say it makes the game of pretty but the price is more important to get it into the hands of the consumer) basically have it at the same price as the 3DS.
Basically when it comes to the physical copies of Vita games you have to wait till a download is complete before playing but if it was you put in the game you play straight away and this would make it better.
One of the biggest mistakes Sony has done with the PS Vita is build their own version storage and this was the biggest mistake they have done but if they just went into the route of using standard micro SD card this would be 1000 times better.
Basically Sony should release at the same time as Nintendo when they released New Nintendo 3DS then Sony should release the newer version of the PS Vita that has as a little bit more power on the hardware side with OLED screen.
Another one would be release a Monster Hunter Freedom free or try to get Monster Hunter Tri onto to the PS Vita at the same time it's released for the PS Vita because this game will help to sell this console.
basically if Sony did all these things that I have listed PS Vita would most probably do much better.

Yea facebook marketplace is ur best bet other day i saw one with like two hundred fifty six gigabytes and it was modded. Looked decked out. U should check. Modding it is easy now anyways. Just a click of a button
