    One of the better RUclips Tutorials on how to set up the perfect shot and different modes, shutter speeds etc on the Dji Mavic Pro! Highly Recommended to watch if you're just starting out or simply brushing up on your still shots!

    Great advice except for your last statement. I took my drone everywhere and thieves broke into my truck at church and stole it. I’ve been back and forth with Geico, seeming how I’m supposedly full covered but got no where with them. But God honored his word, received a brand new Mavic Pro combo as a gift😁😁😁😁 So I’m guessing that everywhere would include carrying the drone on your side...lol. Flying is my life! We don’t have flying cars yet but we have flying instruments that compensates for it😁 Good day and be blessed.

    Great video, but I noticed a lot of people complain that 4:3 image ratio looks a little too compress. Do you recommend keeping image ratio at 4:3 or 16:9?

  • @thegamingaddiction332
    @thegamingaddiction332 7 лет назад

    FYI, the general consensus on RUclips is that you want sharpness to be at +1 or more. Having it set at 0 or lower enables the mavic's noise reduction. What you should do is apply noise reduction in post, that way you can get a better image.

    Great video however there is often confusion about how to use a histogram. An example of two extremes that would produce 'perfectly exposed' images that do not show an even range on a histogram:
    1. a Polar Bear on a snowy background (all the peaks will be to the right)
    2. A black cat with a dark background (even if front lit) would give you peaks to the left.

    Thanku so much, finally someone has done a video on best settings for photos. That's what I bought mine for. It finally arrived (uk) a few days ago and the damn thing is faulty, it can fly but no camera picture at all!!! Not happy after the long wait. Probably take weeks for dji just to read my e mail as they ignored my last one asking for help incase it was a software issue which it's not unfortunately

    • @360views
      @360views  7 лет назад

      +moira chalmers how disappointing! Do you think it's hardware issue or app/firmware fault? I've been having a few problems with the app - no camera link, keeps saying not connected. It does work with perseverance. Hope you get it fixed soon!

    • @MC50000
      @MC50000 7 лет назад

      360views it says it's connected and as if everything is ok except you have a black screen, the focus blue box in the middle keeps going as it tries to focus on nothing. I took it up in the air for a few mins and none of the buttons such as fly home etc would work. I've done the downloads, the upgrades, more firmware updates so I don't think I have left anything out. I bought it directly from Dji and the packaging was really poor and hence the white mavic box was badly damaged on one corner so I guess that could have caused the problem. Very frustrating as I wanted to get some unique still photos for my panel for LRPS distinction. So I hope they sort it quickly but I'm not too hopeful as I'm still waiting for approval to send the faulty one back!

    • @MC50000
      @MC50000 7 лет назад

      360views problem is it says it's connected and it's trying to focus so do u think that's a hard ware issue? Dji are not being helpful

    Awesome tutorial!! I hope you do more videos like this one in the future. Very straight and to the point. I don't currently have any post software so I will probably do most of my filming in jpeg. I'm still waiting for the Mavic to become available so I can finally get my hands on it. It will be my first "real" drone, the one I have now costed just $75 lol because I've been waiting for a drone like the Mavic to come around before dropping serious money. Again, thank you for the video!!

      +Jay Wray so glad it was helpful. Before I got adobe cc I used the raw processing software that came with my old canon dslr. Not great but did the job. There might be some good free software if you did want to shoot raw.

    If you're shooting in RAW, then just set WB to Auto because you can adjust it later...

    • @jordans4642
      @jordans4642 5 лет назад

      Maby, but honestly that's not the right way to get the best results everytime. First adjust to the lowest possible ISO for that particular shot. Next adjust apature to the lowest level usually 4.0. (12 feet in focus or so is a good start) Next adjust frame rate/ shutter speed to desired darkness to brightness ratio usually set for mid lighted room range.

    • @jordans4642
      @jordans4642 5 лет назад

      Shutter speed about 100 down to 30 depending on darkness of your surroundings

    At my Mavic sharpness -2 is not a good idea. The blurry parts increase so much. All details are missing. Additionally the automatic noise reduction will be stronger...

    I can fly the Mavic. I just have no idea on how to get started. I am camera and video dumb. This video was nice for advanced people. How about a video where I go up and take a single picture and then show us how to get it on Facebook or into our computer. The very basics. That would be nice.

    After clicking Camera Icon, then clicking Photo, I only have 'Single Shot' Option... nothing else! The other 4 choices are not even there. Thing is it worked earlier today just like you show and I successfulluy did a 3 shot AEB test no problem. But now, those other 4 options only show when the iPhone 8 with IOS 13 & RC, are disconnected from drone. I did a 'Camera Rest" someone mentioned in a forum, but it did not resolve this problem. I have turned off & turned everything back on to no avail. I have version DJI Go App 4.3.38, & am all updated on the Mavic Pro from the DJI Assistant. Please... any ideas??

  • @viperspd2

    I have a question. In the dji app for both iphone and android, my histogram window seems to have invisible borders before the actual histogram window border, so that the information displayed cuts off a bit before the histogram window edge. yours seems to work properly, where the information can actually reach the edges of the histogram window. Do you think there is something wrong with my mavic?

  • @stephenyates1960
    @stephenyates1960 7 лет назад +1

    Interesting video, thanks. I'm not sure that the majority of your settings are that critical if you are shooting in RAW though. These will still need to be adjusted in post, as my understanding of RAW is that it is exactly that - raw data. A completely different situation if you are shooting JPEG though.

    • @360views
      @360views  7 лет назад +1

      +Stephen Yates Hi, you're right - to a certain extent. But it's better to get the settings as close to perfect in camera to save time in post!

    • @dattran6372
      @dattran6372 7 лет назад +3

      stephen yates is right about the contrast, sharpness, and saturation options you talk about in the video. won't matter in raw capture, only jpeg. also, it's weird and may be a bit confusing to people that you made a video specifically for still pictures and talk about setup for PHOTOS, but then suddenly mention the 180 shutter speed rule for video at the end and yet don't talk about how shutter speed affects PHOTOS.

    • @stephenyates1960
      @stephenyates1960 7 лет назад +1

      Yep! In fact, other settings like white balance, saturation, and exposure are adjustable in post when using RAW (although there are limitations to exposure). This is why RAW files are so much larger than JPEG. The computer in the camera does post processing for you when producing JPEG and discards other data it does not use. JPEG can be manipulated in post, but to a much lesser extent than RAW.

    • @daveeverett9341
      @daveeverett9341 7 лет назад +1

      Stephen Yates Agreed, the sharpness, contrast and saturation setting for RAW stills are moot, except on the embedded JPEG thumbnail that gets stored along every RAW file for file preview purposes.

    • @andinbriwel1092
      @andinbriwel1092 5 лет назад

      This is greatly true of white balance and picture profile settings. However, ISO, aperture and shutter speed each affect more than just exposure, and these settings cannot be altered in post since they are physical.
      Increased ISO will add noise since it’s actually adjusting the physical voltage gain on the sensor, shutter speed will affect motion blur, and aperture will affect depth of field. Balancing the 3 to get the target result while nailing the exposure as closely as possible is the path to better quality photos.

    My first experience of still pictures: quality of near objects photos (100 meter) are great (color, sharpness) but background of panorama photos really sucks: pixelized, not sharp, dull. What do you recommend to start with?
