    I bought my first Drone, Mavic of course, three days ago. Been waiting for something smarter than me, at 63 not too hard but I made the right decision finally. But it does so much so a little daunting. I have watched drone and Mavic intro and how to on RUclips till I am going blind. Till I found your Mavic tutorials. Still have many more to go and I am sure to watch a dozen times over again. I had no idea I could make adjustments to the controls. Wow, that's really great and your tutorial on this was great. The factory setting on the gimbal knob was driving me crazy. Thanks Timothy you are doing a great job!

    I guess DJI removed the Cinematic Modes in the latest GO 4 update (2017.12 - ver. 4.1.22) as I don't have those options in my menu, but it appears it's not really needed in light of your suggested settings. I can see your suggested settings definitely slows camera movement, and that is awesome! It also looks like GO 4 now provides Gimbal auto-centering and also, 3 configuration settings so the PIC can create 3 Gimbal control options? Only guessing as I'm a photographer new to drones but on my test flights, I cringed with the fast camera movements, even when barely touching the scroll wheel! Thanks a lot for the tips Timothy! Well done, and now I have another excuse to take er up again!

    Excellent video..This may be a stupid question, but if left in Cinematic mode, those setting are set for fluid movement, however when you switch different flight "modes", (except for Sport, do you , have the same settings regardless of which mode you are in? would enjoy hearing your professional take on that. Very nice video, easily understood as well. Thank you

    all good, I was surprised that you dont enable & use the 30 degrees up on the gimbal... Why? bcz I use it all the time and like the effect of seeing the drone lowering with the gimbal tilting up... or have the gimbal tilted up & as i rise have the gimbal lower....

    I just did the adjustment from your teaching. Can’t wait to try it this week. I do have a question on the distance the Mavic Pro can do. I do live in a hilling part of Texas and I notice after 2500 feet of distance it loses connection. Is that because of the hills or am I doing something wrong. Thank God for RTH because after I lost signal I hit that button. Lol

    • @TimothySunday
      @TimothySunday  6 лет назад

      Definitely, keep it within range. I always maintain line of sight with the drone and I've never lost it by doing that. Once, I accidentally flew it behind another hill. After my panic attack, it returned home just fine. lol. But still, keep it closer to you. It's actually the law if you're in the States

    Hey Timothy, great video, I have been wanting to know these tips for awhile, thanks for doing this video. Is there a certain program you use or would recommend to the novice drone pilot to edit videos other than the DJI App? I have iMovie on my Macbook, but was wondering if there is something else that would make editing videos easier ? Thank you and keep the Mavic videos coming, I always look forward to hearing your insight.

    • @TimothySunday
      @TimothySunday  7 лет назад

      I use final cut pro x. But iMovie is more simple if that's what you're goin for.

    • @tricepilot
      @tricepilot 6 лет назад

      I wouldn't follow Timothy and use Final Cut as it is an advanced editor with features you probably will not use as a hobbyist. I strongly recommend Filmora, which is a popular RUclips platform for both Mac and PC. It has features you'll probably never use as well but the basic functionality is superb. I realize your post is months old so I'm not sure you'll see this response, but I've added it for others who may browse here.

    I put my brake at 100. Otherwise the stops are still sudden. Still playing with it though. Also realized that quite a number of screens doing these instructions look different from each other and different from mine... so when the instruction is given it's a little confusing to follow because the wording of the functions are different or they are just absent. What's going on with that?

  • @markshirley01
    @markshirley01 7 лет назад

    Thanks Tim - have you done anything on focusing - I presume you just press the screen at your focus target, but are there any settings I should know about.

    • @TimothySunday
      @TimothySunday  7 лет назад

      That's about all there is to the Mavic. Just don't forget to Touch to Focus. I've tried Manual focus but it's super difficult whilst flying. So it's kinda of pointless. I do use focus peaking when I'm shooting still images. That helps me know I'm focussing on the right thing.

    I love all your videos and wanted to let you know how much you've helped me with my Mavic Pro. Question, regarding "color", I see a lot of people saying they shoot in D-Log for better results in post. I know you said you shoot in "Normal". Can you further explain why? Also, when I try to adjust "Anti-Flicker" in the settings your highlighted in this video, I can't change it to 60hz. Thx for your help!!!

    • @TimothySunday
      @TimothySunday  6 лет назад

      Glad the videos are helpful. For me, normal mode allows less color grading in post. If I was a really flat image for lots of color grading, then yes, D-Log is a better option.
