This is probably the first video I’ve seen of your’s and THANK YOU. Great explanation and graphics /shots to really emphasize key points on how to play. Seriously appreciate the hard work put into this. This will seriously help when I teach the game tonight. Keep it up. Subscribed!
Perfect! I was struggling to find a clear, concise and engaging tutorial video of this game to send to a friend before she comes over to play. Glad I found this. Thank you! I am subscribing.
I just purchased Everdell today and have been watching tutorial videos to see how to play. Out of the four I've watched, yours is by far the most clear. Great job! I just subscribed to your channel.
just got started with this game. thank you for your hard work with this video. i've watched a lot of tutorials for this, even the famous popular one, and yours is the best.
This is the first video of yours I have ever seen and immediately subscribed! Your explanation of the game and your delivery are both amazing and fun to follow. I feel like I can now set up my game and play it without even having to look at the rule book which is what I was looking for. So glad I found this channel! Keep up the awesome work!
Really good review. Really liked the animations helping with the explanation. Ill definitely be prioritizing your how to plays if there is a list. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! I've watched 3 others before and yours was the only one that allowed me to understand the rules easily. And kudos for the all the work that must have gone into editing this video!!!
Oh it absolutely is! You've touched on several games that I wish he had. He just has just set a ridiculously high bar when it comes to tutorials. I have to say you've done great. I went ahead and subscribed and look forward to future content.
First time watching, just bought this today. Amazing video. I am more than happy to subscribe. I’d dare say as good or better than Watch it Played. Very very solid.
Great video. This one is on my radar now. Theme and art looks great. How is the component quality? Especially the tree? Does it look like it will hold up as you build it and take it apart? Also, any thoughts on sharing your opinion of the game, strengths, weaknesses, etc? Maybe a second video? I assume you like the games because you're reviewing them.
So what i read about the tree is that it's flimsy. As a consequence, i set up my tree exactly once, and have kept it assembled on my game shelf (because it looks great!) i can totally see that with enough setup and takedown, the tree will get wobbly. (Of course, the publisher will happily sell you a wooden version of the tree that might hold up better ;) All that said, the tree is 100% decorative, rather than functional. It serves no actual gameplay purpose.
I'm really enjoying your channel. I'm watching videos for games that I have no want to play. But I just want to let you know that the "swoosh" transition sound get distracting at times.
Thanks, Other Ryan! i read you loud and clear. And i saw the comments about it on Reddit today as well. To fix the problem, just today, i built a library of over twenty different whoosh sound effects to pepper throughout my videos, so the transitions don't sound so samey. i prefer this to losing the sound effects entirely, because some of my fellow ADD-addled viewers have told me the transition sounds help them re-focus their attention when their minds begin to wander. So the best of both worlds, i hope!
Last time i played, i won with the Bon Jovis! Their player power is really good, and we saddled up Stubblehoof the moose and rode him to victory! Happy birthday to me.
Yes - you can absolutely play them! Think of the meadow as, like, a communal hand. They're your cards. But they're also the other players' cards. If you've got the goods, you can build a card from either the meadow or your hand.
Yeah - watch specifically for the instruction to “draw” (that’s from the deck). If you get to take a card from the meadow specifically, the game will say so. Remember that you can, as the action on your turn, construct a card from the meadow if you can pay its costs.
Great video but i have some questions First if a card requires you to put a character on the spot to gain the rewards if we used a card that discard a card get its rewards and draw a card do we get our character back and play them again Second if you go to the discard area and choose to discard two cards and gain the material do you get to do that again next round or would you have to move a character again in order to discard and draw Third if you have let’s say a inn and there’s a inn keeper in the meadow do you get that character for free or still have to pay If you could get back to me that would be great thanks and I really liked the video I will be sub and Belling.
1. You get your character back (except in the case of a card like the cemetery), but you don't get to reuse that worker until it's freed up in the next round. 2. The placement slots are once-only. If you place a worker in the Haven, you get a resource for every 2 cards you discard, and you can do that multiple times. But if you want to repeat that action on a later turn, you need to place another, different worker there. 3. If you have the construction that attracts a critter, you can play that critter either from your hand or from the meadow for free. But that effect only works once per construction, so make sure to block off the little door in the bottom right corner of the card to remind you that that ability is used up on that card!
Thank you so much for responding so fast but with number 1. I was actually thinking of the cemetery in my head because it’s a good card other then the fact you can’t get your player back and I think it’s the ruins that allows you to break a construction so what would happen to the character they kinda just go into space?
Our group has a confusion regarding playing a critter card for free from the meadow when using a construction card. Let’s say, if there is a courthouse and a judge on the meadow, can people pay the cost for a the courthouse card and also take the judge card from the meadow immediately for free and play it for free next round? One player believes that you can only play a critter card for free if you have it in your hand, and not directly get it from the meadow.
Hi, Alaze. You can absolutely play a critter card from the meadow for free if you have the matching, unoccupied construction built in your tableau. But what you're describing is not allowed: if you spend your turn buying and placing the courthouse in your tableau, you would have to wait until your *next* turn to claim the judge card from the meadow (if it's still there!) Building a card counts as your action, and you can only do that once on your turn.
Hello ! thanks for the explanation.. Are you sure that you have to bury the cards from the special events under it? ruclips.net/video/BmNOcu35Vm4/видео.html I have looked everywhere. Where did you find this rule? Thanks!
Hi, Marco! i'm not quite sure i understand what you're asking, but the "Capture of the Acorn Thieves" card explicitly tells you to turn two critter cards from your tableau upside down beneath it.
@@MarcoGrandia Yeah! And it's a great card for dealing with the Fool. You can also try the Dungeon or University if that event doesn't get dealt out. (Using the University to get rid of the Ruins is another powerful combo!)
