Ya know what,.. ive tested alot of things over the years,. And have found the crosslink works best,..even though i use a different topcoat,.. the adhesive bond is the best ive come across,.. everytime i used hawks epoxy primer,.. ive had alot of failures,..that should only be used as a bite coat,..NOT a solid coat,.. just something for the topcoat to grab,. And you will be fine,.. but with crosslink,.. yeah, that is my go to primer. Great video.

Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it!
You can find other testing videos I’ve done, hands down crosslink out performs everything many times over and works with all urethane coatings.

This one was midwest, I also use topkote. Everything gets crosslinked, crosslink3 is the best bonding agent I’ve been able to find to date.

What if you have a small repair do you still use the same primer or do you have a spray can primer that you use

I’ve never seen you put a nonslip surface on the tub. I’d say 95% of my customers ask me to apply a nonslip surface.

I use the drain rap skid step mats.
I haven’t offered the non slip in the tub coating for over 10 years now.

I use Topkote Bonding agent crosslink3 thanks to you recommendation.
Why does my primer crack and runs after I waited several minutes to apply it? I use Hawk,
Thank you in advance for your help and videos.

hawk primer will crack because its being applied too thick, try thinner coats.

I would only use hawks epoxy primer as a bite coat,.. not a full solid lay down coat,.. just a few light passes,.. and it will be ok,... That stuff is not fast drying if you lay it down,.. I too(years ago)had a lot of failures with that primer.. . But I would only use that epoxy as a bite coat,.. and that will be tuff as nails,.Bc of the epoxy
