I'm a knotty guy. This was a great video bro. I have a little piece of paracord I carry all the time. I call it my magic string. There are so many uses for cordage when you learn just a few handy knots.
Thanks for this example of how to. I have been wanting to create a lanyard for carrying a lighter close to my body. This will work nicely with a small loop of cord gorilla tapped to the lighter.
Very useful piece of gear, thanks for showing. To carry a (full) water bottle, the part between carabiner and cord lock is not the best, especially with Nylon paracord, which is rather slick. Hard to find cord locks that don't slip on it. Best part is between the two knots on the opposite side, you'll never lose your bottle, and can adjust the length with the cord locks. Using only a lark's head (cow-hitch) allows to take the carabiner off and make the lanyard even more versatile.
🐺 I reckon you could call it fisher knot I use the same knot on my throw lines and trote lines also on my jug line but I've always called it a slide knot it sure makes running you lines much easer especially when you don't have a second pair of hands to help you. Anyway great video thanks for sharing brother. Stay safe and I hope each and every one has a great Christmas and a happy and wonderful new year . 🇨🇱🦅
i think that knot you call a fisherman's knot is also called a barrel knot. nice video btw, i'm definitely going to make this. thanks for the idea. earned a sub!
I am pretty sure I made it as described and 10 feet of cord is way too much... the hook hangs down to my waist when it is cinched up to the shortest length.
@patslee1394 yes if you use this method of 4 in 1 lanyard use the lowest lock to secure the bottle. The top will be double corded taking some pressure off. It's not perfect but helps.
@@PinePondCTDevilsHopyard-fy3hj was only wearing a tee shirt on upper body as was hot day and walking dog up hill. I have been thinking on it and when I find a used wheel innertube I'm going to cut a wide piece like a ranger band and fit to outside of water bottle so I can remove and use as a shoulder pad
Excellent idea! Love the adjustability of it! 👊
Seems easy enough to make with the explanation!

That is actually a Prusik Knot! Used to make an adjustable loop. Excellent idea overall.

@mannihh5274 I didn't think of that, but you are 100% correct. I haven't had problems with losing the bottle I use milspec cord locks give them a try
What approximate length should the paracord be?
@motrock93b everyone's body type is different I stated with 12ish feet and cut line down as needed you could need more or less

Cool
I like the creation, but how much paracord should I start with?
@earlelzy9975 between 10 to 15 feet depending on your body size go long if it's to long cut some off
Glad I found this in the comments... shoulda been mentioned

@georgelstuart different body types and clip will make it hang differently remove some and retie from the fisherman's knots to your preferred length
cool thanks man

well shown. i made something similar a year ago but the weight of the bottle pulling on the 550 kept cutting into my neck so couldn't use. any ideas

@patslee1394 keep in mind this lanyard is a jack of all trades. Can do many things well but nothing perfect
Couldn't you place the cords over your collar of sweater, sweat shirt, jacket...?
