You don't need to prime it. You can clean those sponges under tha tap.It's a good filter!
Did you have to lower your flow? im really struggling with the flow being just right lol currently ive switched to a spray bar.
If you use the oase attachments with the spray bar the flow can be adjusted by turning a little dial.
