I have lived in Normandy for 20 yrs and there are 2 places I wouldn't drive in, Paris and Lille. Both are horrendous so well done for tackling Lille.

I feel better now for having tried 😂 we made a big error not having plan b and c car parks plumbed into the sat nav

Beautifully put together Stew & Jane. Such a moving story of our boys from Oz. The only good thing about driving in the city is that if you follow the car in front, & they are wrong, you can blame them! But nothing worse than an unexpected festival! 😅. Cheers from Melbourne

Thanks for that it means a lot - we were captivated by the story and heroism but also the diligence of the modern day archaeologists to identify the soldiers they found
As for city driving we realised we should of had back up spots plumbed into Google maps
      Live and learn
      Thanks for watching

Stressful in Lille. We would find that drive stressful. 👍😊

@@getawaygeese Pleased you were ok. We were saying how brave you were with winging it whilst abroad. Much more of a challenge with a different language too. Guess it’s one of those things that gets easier the more you do it.
Ooh you’re back in Ireland. Look forward to seeing what you get up to. Take care in this cold weather 😊👍

Just a small tip, while you are in France be careful if you go to Rouen as there is no ring road there and you have to go right into the city to cross over the Seine, I had a bad experience there one time.

Wow stressful or what!!!! Foreign city driving.
Interesting DNA story for you. My ex wife's grandmother was the sister of Professor Sir Alec Jeffrey's Mum. He was the chap who developed genetic fingerprinting and DNA profiling. I met him a few times at family gatherings. A really nice down to Earth bloke.
Another great history video. Thanks to you both.😮
