The way I snapped was I put my thumb on the top last lace and wrap my hand around the ball as much ass possible and was very very accurate highly recommend it
that’s what i’ve been doing this year. i keep my thumb right behind the lace and my index finger right on the line and it’s pretty good. i just can’t find a good way to grip the ball without it slipping when i snap sometimes
I am coaching a YMCA 8th grade spring football. Our center's just weren't grasping the shotgun or long snaps. I watched this video and put it to use. One of our centers fought it, saying that the ball flops all over the place and is hard to control. So I asked, then why are you doing 98% better? No reply....... Thank you for sharing this tip. The Dead Ball Snap is now a part of our game.
I prefer the standard snap because(I have big hands) it’s easier to grip and I don’t have to shift my grip if and audible is called and the play goes under center
We moved into more shotgun plays this year so we did a variation of this. I put my middle finger in the crease on the right side of the laces. If you don't snap your wrist it goes lace up to them
He was ok describing the dead ball snap. But there is no way he is telling the QB to bad if he doesn't like. The QB is the most important player on the team and if he doesn't like something they would change it to make him comfortable. I don't want him getting young learning the center position to think they have the power to do this. They would get cut, traded or sit the bench for their career just like him if he was telling the truth that he told his QB that.
I prefer regular snap, if you have small hands, then use two hands. Place the middle finger of the hand you don't throw with along the top of the seam on the bottom of the ball. Then place the hand you throw with on the laces, and whalla, you've got a good snap. If you do that, make sure to widen your base a couple of inches
Prolly gonna switch to dead ball next year when I start on var. we never go under center and run the option. The last 2 centers used dead ball so I figured I should too
Thanks Nice vid !?You get way More power for blocking this way allows you to feel more secure in your stance and put more weight and pressure for your get of. You can put more weight on the ball
If you have small hands then you can use two hands that can help you with your attack as well cuz once your arm swing back they can swing back to your guy, then you can push them back
personally I know it works .but I'm use to my regular snaps I got good and use to it . the dead ball snap I'm being forced to use and I hate it honestly
as a qb I really only care about getting the ball accurately. I can correct my catch as long as it's there. I prefer traditional bc it's easier to catch, but dead ball is still good if the center needs
You as a QB should also know that you can't wait around for a ball to "float" back to you! Dead snaps much slower across the board...defenses move on the ball, not when the QB gets it! Velocity vs Assumed increase in accuracy...
the way it was explained to my son was definitely no flicking of the wrist, imagine there is a cast on your arm from your shoulder to your wrist. The whole are should be moving straight back and your wrist should hit your cup.
i used to snap like that in middle school but my qb did not like that so u found a new way to snap and now my snaps are perfect 95% of the time i just finished my freshman year with a record of 8-1
10 years ago this was called the end of end, Jock Sutherland snap, and no one doing it. My bud posted a video of him doing and it now, dang near half the teams I see are doing it.
As a center I have tried both. 7th grade year with the dead ball snap I had 3-5 bad snaps on the whole season. I came back on my 8th grade season and I had a 100% accuracy rate (no bad snaps) but I think it is a technique thing and I just had some issues with the dead ball snap.
This was very useful to a former center but now I'm a defencive lineman do u have any tips or tricks for getting off the ball faster or getting separation
Hey Lineman Football, I am a Center in High School, Junior year. I always have played Guard or Tackle but this year, they need a Center. I have a decent snap when I don't move but once motion and blocking occurs. The ball goes everywhere. (Spiral Snap, "Regular Snap/Common) I practice dead ball snapping all the time at home but I fire off the block slower. A slower feel anyway. How do I fix that?
Minister of The Holy One the best way to improve your speed off the snap right now is to make a conscious effort to move faster. I know it sounds like a "no duh" answer but it's the truth. Just keep practicing and getting the hang of it. As far as the standard snap issue goes, the best coaching point I was taught is take a quick look at the QBs belt line before the play to help with accuracy. That and when you hike it, the ball should come off your fingers as if you were throwing it. Hope that helps ya out some. Good luck and go hawgs!
I just can’t snap like this, I’ve tried but idk, I’m not a Center though either (I play left tackle but I might be backup if our center gets hurt because our JV center isn’t really ready to play varsity so they have me snap during pre game specials)
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the snap up? All mine are. Also I get up there in game and overthink everything because I’m worried about a bad snap, and just make’s everything worse.
It is legal. I don't know who started it. Centers in the NFL don't use it because like he said, QB'S aren't used to catching it straight up and people also think it looks ridiculous.
The way I snapped was I put my thumb on the top last lace and wrap my hand around the ball as much ass possible and was very very accurate highly recommend it
i was talking about for shot gun my high school offence had only one play under center
Garrett Fox that's how I do it as well
Same bro
that’s what i’ve been doing this year. i keep my thumb right behind the lace and my index finger right on the line and it’s pretty good. i just can’t find a good way to grip the ball without it slipping when i snap sometimes
I've made leaps and bounds as a lineman thanks to you. Keep up the good work
Man i promise you, you dont know how much this helped me thank you so much guy

Hoodies are cool
I prefer the regular way. I always ball tap myself with the dead ball snap
All your videos make me understand my linemen better, and as a qb that's important. Thanks.
Really like the hoodies you should definitely make them! Keep up the vids man
I'm in 8th grade and im playing center and my coach wanted me to learn this, thank you!
This helped me with every problem im struggling with as center
That’s what I like to hear

At my school once you get to JV you are supposed to deadball snap
I prefer regular snap, if you have small hands, then use two hands. Place the middle finger of the hand you don't throw with along the top of the seam on the bottom of the ball. Can't just snap with 2 hands
Nolan Wray snapping with 2 hands is for peewee football
Tate Renaud what's about Long snapping 😂 you go in with two hands
Never use two hands you’ll never get the first punch
SCHINKENohneKAESE that’s different you don’t get hit
Prolly gonna switch to dead ball next year when I start on var. we never go under center and run the option. The last 2 centers used dead ball so I figured I should too

Thank you so much !! Really apreciaded 👍

sick hoodies dude 👌💯🍻 keep up the great work and excellent videos and best of luck to you moving forward with everything
This made my snaps very good
Love the video I want to see some snaps!!
Also TDS is a the smallest regulation ball on the market. Have used them for years.
as a qb I really only care about getting the ball accurately. I can correct my catch as long as it's there. I prefer traditional bc it's easier to catch, but dead ball is still good if the center needs

Thanks man, i was snapping in all directions untill i saw this video
That hoodie is fire bro, Sell them I would buy one for sure, great videos too😎👍🏽
I use the dead ball snap. It's good for QBs because it comes back and the laces are already where they need to be.
I tried the dead ball snap. The main flaw with it is that it goes too slow
the way it was explained to my son was definitely no flicking of the wrist, imagine there is a cast on your arm from your shoulder to your wrist. The whole are should be moving straight back and your wrist should hit your cup.
I appreciate the video as a first year center
Bro the hoodie is on fire let me get one and thanks for the advice on the dead ball snap
i used to snap like that in middle school but my qb did not like that so u found a new way to snap and now my snaps are perfect 95% of the time i just finished my freshman year with a record of 8-1

Really like the hoodie by the way
Thx for the vid. Really helped me out in games
I used this snap and it worked thanks LF 😄👍👍
I've been practicing this and I really do like it thanks
I'd buy that hoodie, its pretty dope.
Its such an ugly snap. I play center and I snap a spiral its way prettier and more accurate
Good news. It's about efficiency and effectiveness and not prettiness.
accuracy depends on who is snapping it and who cares if it looks pretty your job is to make the ball get to the qb and to protect
OL/ DL FOOTBALL first time i saw it was freshman year i was like whaaa
For you not for other people
As a center I have tried both. 7th grade year with the dead ball snap I had 3-5 bad snaps on the whole season. I came back on my 8th grade season and I had a 100% accuracy rate (no bad snaps) but I think it is a technique thing and I just had some issues with the dead ball snap.
I love my D line
Good things that lineman have tips
I play QB
My coach said its easier for the QB to catch the ball coming at him up and down like that then a spiral.
In practice I did both witch ever one was doing the best for that week I did in the game that week
Any tips on how to snap a super slippery ball. I literally can’t snap the ball when it’s really slippery
When coaches were yelling at me so that’s how I found this vid
This was very useful to a former center but now I'm a defencive lineman do u have any tips or tricks for getting off the ball faster or getting separation
I’m trying deadball snaps but they keep going high, what should i do differently?
Are you saying, don't drag the ball across the ground? Had an issue hearing that point.
i have a video idea... if you have a speedflex you will understand the yellowing of the ratchet lock strap can you make it white or clear again
+Keenan Richardson the plastic changing colour cannot be changed only replaced
ok

Gloves
Could you make a pt2 I’ve been using this but I’ve just been having trouble with the stance with it
I love the hoodie
I may try this next year as a HS Varsity player if I am chosen to become a Center again, because I could not snap the ball for shit my first year.
SleepTight410 so why would they put you in varsity?
Yes! Hoodies!
Thanks I'll give it a shot
I just can’t snap like this, I’ve tried but idk, I’m not a Center though either (I play left tackle but I might be backup if our center gets hurt because our JV center isn’t really ready to play varsity so they have me snap during pre game specials)
I'll buy an LF Hoodie. 3XL Please.
lol I know :(
My coaches actually told me to snap like that and I play so much better and only had like 1 bad snap
My first game with the new snapping form
Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the snap up? All mine are. Also I get up there in game and overthink everything because I’m worried about a bad snap, and just make’s everything worse.

Did you get any university offers? Or any post secondary schools. I'm from Nova Scotia and I'm kinda curious
My son snaps dead ball but it goes right how to fix this?
His elbow is probably hitting the inside of his knee on release and it’s pulling m. Focus on straight back

+Alex Leggate get healthy
You helpe so much
Will the hoodies be available?
My question is who came up with this technique and is it legal. You don’t see NFL centers snapping this way
It is legal. I don't know who started it. Centers in the NFL don't use it because like he said, QB'S aren't used to catching it straight up and people also think it looks ridiculous.
That’s how I started out but now I snap with my thumb no I will try to dead ball snap but it’s 8th grade football soo
Do you sell that hoodie?
