  • Bad snaps usually result in either turnovers, touchdowns, or safeties. Some of these plays it's completely the center's fault, some of them it's a miscommunication between the quarterback and center.

    • @noahparker50

      @@riz8114 Whenever he is being pressured in the pocket, has to make a split second decisions in the pocket. Basically anything that he has to improvise on a play in a short amount of time is a better way to measure it. Someone who does great in making split second decisions while under pressure is Patrick Mahomes. Brady couldn't make the playoffs with the Jets, and he couldn't win rings with the Packers. Because those are a team effort. Without the Patriots Brady would not have near as much success and would not be a "legend" like everyone says he is.

    • @riz8114
      @riz8114 4 года назад

      @@noahparker50 Split second decision making is far different than the mental game it takes to consistently win big games and make comebacks. Do I really need to start naming great quarterbacks who didn't perform in the postseason? And what makes you think Brady doesn't handle pressure as well as any other qb you can call great? I mean come on you can make arguments against Brady, but his fast decision making isn't one of them.

    This video shows that perhaps the second most important position on a team after QB is long snapper. Oftentimes, on the 46-man game-day roster, there is no backup long-snapper, and as one sees in the plays at 2:07 and 6:06, where the long snapper was unavailable because of injury, special teams can go completely down the drain. Teams have a backup QB, backup RB, often four WRs, backup linemen and tight ends, and the punter and kicker somewhat interchangeable, but usually no backup LS. And no, center is not the same skill set as long snapper. In 2015, Bill Belichick felt the position needy enough to draft Joe Cardona in the 5th round out of Navy, despite the fact that he only did long snapping in college and played no other position. (Fun fact: Joe Cardona is the only current NFL player who is also an active servicemember.)

    The real story here is Tony Romo and Russell Wilson are so used to being surrounded by incompetence that they can turn a botched snap into a positive play.

      Center here, if it rolls the qb can at least get on it. If it flys over his head then you’re gonna lose yardage

    The bad snap to Tony Romo and then run for a first town was really freaking sweet, the best one, even if I wasn’t a Cowboys fan I’d still be saying that. 😆👍🏻😎😁👍🏻
    (Don’t forget, I saw that Russell Wilson one too, but he threw it, he didn’t get a first down all by himself.)

    • @codander

      Bloodbath and Beyond - I get why it's funny, simply the sound of it, but just an FYI it's called football because the ball measures a foot long.

    • @aetd106

      It's called football because it was descended from rugby which was descended from "association" football (soccer)

    Don’t rely on your punter getting the ball. Instead they make themselves look like fools trying to get the ball.

    Not lots of people know but center is one of the hardest or hardest position in football because nothing can happens without you snapping is hard also you got to step to the right side if you don’t the whole team gets mad at you if you mess up the snap you also get yelled at
