      @GoHARD99 4 года назад +20

      @Tracer Main actually you got fooled on the call too he put his hands on the ground to break the fall so he's full body weight was not on him like they do on fake wrestling when they jump from the ropes on someone on the ground they use there hands and knees to break the fall before they land on the person

    • @nathanpapp432
      @nathanpapp432 4 года назад +12

      @Tracer Main You could argue that call in the Vikings 49s game was a bad one. Richardson does actually try to brace himself and not land with his full weight on the QB. The Clay Mathews tackle is exactly what that rule was made for. He had Alex Smith wrapped up all the way to the ground, landing on his shoulder. You can argue that you dont like the rule, but its technically a good call.

    I think one of the most frustrating things for me are all the roughing the passer penalties because a guy made contact a millisecond after the ball was thrown. These guys train since middle school to get the QB. That’s their whole left. “Get the QB. Get the QB.” When they’re eating breakfast, “Get the QB. Get the QB.” When they’re brushing their teeth, “Get the QB. Get the QB.” It’s all they think about. Physics/momentum exist. What are they supposed to do? Just let him throw it? I understand if the head is the principal point of contact. That makes sense. But you gotta give a guy a couple milliseconds of grace time.

      I don't, especially after Trey Flowers got called for Illegal Hands to the Face twice against the Packers, both times in crucial 3rd down situations that had direct impacts on the outcome of the game, the flag didn't come out until a few seconds after both plays were over and the Packers had failed to convert, and both times his hand was on the offensive lineman's shoulder pads and never touched the defender's face or facemask.
      This was the most obvious screwjob by the Refs against the Lions since that 2014 fiasco in the Lions @ Cowboys playoff game. What's more: Trey Flowers, both up until that point and ever since, had/has never been called for Illegal Hands to the Face in any other game in his entire career.

      Because, in most teams' best tackler's stat line is only about 2-8 sacks for linebackers, and 5-20 for good D Linemen. Sacks make up an average of about 10-25% of most players' tackles. Sacks and hits on the quarterback really aren't THAT common. Yes, some QBs get sacked 5-7 times in one game, but that one game might have 50+ total tackles, so that 5-7 isnt that much, it just seems significant because sacks are ALWAYS for a loss, while most tackles are NOT for a loss. The QB position is the most taxing, most important, and hardest to produce positive output, consistently for every game. QBs getting injured not only change the offense completely, but it also has potential to change the entire team'sbtrajectory. Which influences ticket sales, views on TV, interest in the team, merch sales, and money put in by the team. A vast majority of the time, QBs ARE defenseless, and it seems, besides linemen, QBs are prone to get injured more often. This is probably why.

    QBs signed up to the nfl draft knowing it’s a physical sport and you can get injured any second. QBs are humans too, if someone falls on top of the QB or slaps his arm we don’t have to call a penalty. It just infuriates me when a d-line tackles a RB the same way as a QB but when he tackles the QB it’s a flag

    • @hansenhorst3117

      Smuga Boomin A RB expects the hit, and they are tougher than most QBs
      A blindside hit of that kind can result in severe head injuries, collar bone fractures or twisted ankles
      Those roughing the passer calls were bullshit, but protecting players from loosing nearly 10-20 years of their life is more important

    As a former Defensive End and a coach, I despise what they are doing to the game. “You can’t use your body weight to fall on top of the QB.” That’s textbook fucking tackling! Hit, wrap up, bring your hips, and drive through the tackle to the ground. How the hell do you expect a D-Lineman or Linebacker to shift their body weight in a split second so as not to fall on top of the QB? Roughing the Passer and Targeting need serious reworking because they are making defensive players’ jobs impossible at this point.

    The non call against the Rams against the Saints should've been investigated. That was the most obvious Pass Interference ever. It was also the year the Rams went back to LA from St Louis. Much bigger money market, HAD to be rigged to get LA in the Super Bowl.

    "It's illegal to hit the shoulder pad of the quarterback with your helmet." Umm the shoulder pad is where the most amount of padding is, therefore is the safest place to hit. Also, not putting your body weight on a quarterback is hard when you're 290 lbs and falling
